"IndicationAndUsage": "RIXUBIS® (Coagulation Factor IX [Recombinant]) is an antihemophilic factor indicated in adults and children with hemophilia B for: 1 On-demand treatment and control of bleeding episodes, 2 Perioperative management of bleeding, 3 Routine prophylaxis to reduce the frequency of bleeding episodes.",
"Description": "RIXUBIS [Coagulation Factor IX (Recombinant)] is a purified protein produced by recombinant DNA technology. Its amino acid sequence is identical to that of the Ala-148 allelic form of plasma derived factor IX, and its structural and functional characteristics are similar to those of plasma derived factor IX. RIXUBIS is produced by a genetically engineered CHO cell line. No human or animal proteins are added during any stage of manufacturing or formulation of RIXUBIS. The CHO cell line secretes recombinant factor IX into a defined cell culture medium that does not contain hormones, and the recombinant factor IX is purified by a chromatography purification process that does not require a monoclonal antibody step. The process includes validated virus inactivation/removal steps, namely solvent/detergent treatment and 15 nm nanofiltration. RIXUBIS is predominantly a single component by sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis evaluation. The specific activity of RIXUBIS is ≥200 international units per milligram of protein. Factor IX preactivation, the percent of Factor IXa/Factor IX as measured by activity assays, is ≤0.03%. The potency in international units is determined using an in vitro thromboplastin time (aPTT)-based one-stage clotting assay calibrated against the World Health Organization (WHO) International Standard for Factor IX concentrate. Factor IX potency results can be affected by the type of aPTT reagent and reference standard used in the assay; differences of up to 40% have been observed. RIXUBIS is formulated as a sterile, nonpyrogenic lyophilized powder to be reconstituted with Sterile Water for Injection for intravenous administration. It does not contain any preservatives and is available in single-dose vials containing the labeled amount of factor IX activity, expressed in international units. Each vial contains nominally 250, 500, 1000, 2000, or 3000 international units of recombinant coagulation factor IX. After reconstitution of the lyophilized powder, all dosage strengths yield a clear, colorless solution. The concentrations of excipients are shown in Table 4."

Allergenic extracts are indicated for the treatment of allergen specific allergic disease for use as hyposensitization or immunotherapy when avoidance of specific allergens can not be attained. The use of allergenic extracts for therapeutic purpose has been established by well-controlled clinical studies. Allergenic extracts may be used as adjunctive therapy along with pharmacotherapy which includes antihistamines, corticosteroids, and cromoglycate, and avoidance measures. Allergenic extracts for therapeutic use should be given using only the allergen selection to which the patient is allergic, has a history of exposure and are likely to be exposed to again.",
"Description": "Allergenic extracts are sterile solutions consisting of the extractable components from various biological sources including pollens, inhalants, molds, animal epidermals and insects. Aqueous extracts are prepared using cocas fluid containing NaCl 0.5%, NaHCO3 0.0275%, WFI, preservative 0.4% Phenol. Glycerinated allergenic extracts are prepared with cocas fluid and glycerin to produce a 50% (v/v) allergenic extract. Allergenic Extracts are supplied as concentrations designated as protein nitrogen units (PNU) or weight/volume (w/v) ratio. Standardized extracts are designated in Bioequivalent Allergy Units (BAU) or Allergy Units (AU). (See product insert for standardized extracts). For diagnostic purposes, allergenic extracts are to be administered by prick-puncture or intradermal routes. Allergenic extracts are administered subcutaneously for immunotherapy injections."

The first dose of RotaTeq should be administered between 6 and 12 weeks of age [see Dosage and Administration (2.1)].",
"Description": "RotaTeq is a live, oral pentavalent vaccine that contains 5 live reassortant rotaviruses. The rotavirus parent strains of the reassortants were isolated from human and bovine hosts. Four reassortant rotaviruses express one of the outer capsid proteins (G1, G2, G3, or G4) from the human rotavirus parent strain and the attachment protein (type P7) from the bovine rotavirus parent strain. The fifth reassortant virus expresses the attachment protein, P1A (genotype P[8]), herein referred to as type P1A[8], from the human rotavirus parent strain and the outer capsid protein of type G6 from the bovine rotavirus parent strain (see Table 7). The reassortants are propagated in Vero cells using standard cell culture techniques in the absence of antifungal agents. The reassortants are suspended in a buffered stabilizer solution. Each vaccine dose contains sucrose, sodium citrate, sodium phosphate monobasic monohydrate, sodium hydroxide, polysorbate 80, cell culture media, and trace amounts of fetal bovine serum. RotaTeq contains no preservatives. RotaTeq, an oral solution, is a pale yellow clear liquid that may have a pink tint. RotaTeq is supplied in two presentations, an ampule presentation and a tube presentation. The ampule and the plastic tube and cap do not contain latex."

"IndicationAndUsage": "RotaTeq® is indicated for the prevention of rotavirus gastroenteritis in infants and children caused by types G1, G2, G3, G4, and G9 when administered as a 3-dose series to infants between the ages of 6 to 32 weeks.

"Description": "RECOMBIVAX HB Hepatitis B Vaccine (Recombinant) is a sterile suspension of non-infectious subunit viral vaccine derived from HBsAg produced in yeast cells. A portion of the hepatitis B virus gene, coding for HBsAg, is cloned into yeast, and the vaccine for hepatitis B is produced from cultures of this recombinant yeast strain according to methods developed in the Research Laboratories of Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC, Rahway, NJ, USA. The antigen is harvested and purified from fermentation cultures of a recombinant strain of the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae containing the gene for the adw subtype of HBsAg. The fermentation process involves growth of Saccharomyces cerevisiae on a complex fermentation medium which consists of an extract of yeast, soy peptone, dextrose, amino acids and mineral salts. The HBsAg protein is released from the yeast cells by cell disruption and purified by a series of physical and chemical methods. The purified protein is treated in phosphate buffer with formaldehyde and then coprecipitated with alum (potassium aluminum sulfate) to form bulk vaccine adjuvanted with amorphous aluminum hydroxyphosphate sulfate. Each dose contains less than 1% yeast protein. The vaccine produced by the Merck Sharp & Dohme LLC, Rahway, NJ, USA method has been shown to be comparable to the plasma-derived vaccine in terms of animal potency (mouse, monkey, and chimpanzee) and protective efficacy (chimpanzee and human). The vaccine against hepatitis B, prepared from recombinant yeast cultures, is free of association with human blood or blood products. RECOMBIVAX HB Hepatitis B Vaccine (Recombinant) is supplied in three formulations. [See How Supplied/Storage and Handling (16).]. Pediatric/Adolescent Formulation (Without Preservative), 10 mcg/mL: each 0.5 mL dose contains 5 mcg of hepatitis B surface antigen. Adult Formulation (Without Preservative), 10 mcg/mL: each 1 mL dose contains 10 mcg of hepatitis B surface antigen. Dialysis Formulation (Without Preservative), 40 mcg/mL: each 1 mL dose contains 40 mcg of hepatitis B surface antigen. All formulations contain approximately 0.5 mg of aluminum (provided as amorphous aluminum hydroxyphosphate sulfate, previously referred to as aluminum hydroxide) per mL of vaccine. In each formulation, hepatitis B surface antigen is adsorbed onto approximately 0.5 mg of aluminum (provided as amorphous aluminum hydroxyphosphate sulfate) per mL of vaccine. The vaccine contains <15 mcg/mL residual formaldehyde. The vaccine is of the adw subtype."

<IndicationAndUsage>RIXUBIS® (Coagulation Factor IX [Recombinant]) is an antihemophilic factor indicated in adults and children with hemophilia B for: 1 On-demand treatment and control of bleeding episodes, 2 Perioperative management of bleeding, 3 Routine prophylaxis to reduce the frequency of bleeding episodes.</IndicationAndUsage>

RIXUBIS [Coagulation Factor IX (Recombinant)] is a purified protein produced by recombinant DNA technology. The concentrations of excipients are shown in Table 4.

<IndicationAndUsage>Allergenic extracts are indicated for use in diagnostic testing and as part of a treatment regime for allergic disease, as established by allergy history and skin test reactivity. Allergenic extracts for therapeutic use should be given using only the allergen selection to which the patient is allergic, has a history of exposure and are likely to be exposed to again.</IndicationAndUsage>

Allergenic extracts are sterile solutions consisting of the extractable components from various biological sources including pollens, inhalants, molds, animal epidermals and insects. Allergenic extracts are administered subcutaneously for immunotherapy injections.

<IndicationAndUsage>RotaTeq® is indicated for the prevention of rotavirus gastroenteritis in infants and children caused by types G1, G2, G3, G4, and G9 when administered as a 3-dose series to infants between the ages of 6 to 32 weeks. The first dose of RotaTeq should be administered between 6 and 12 weeks of age [see Dosage and Administration (2.1)].</IndicationAndUsage>

RotaTeq is a live, oral pentavalent vaccine that contains 5 live reassortant rotaviruses. The ampule and the plastic tube and cap do not contain latex.

<IndicationAndUsage>RECOMBIVAX HB® [Hepatitis B Vaccine, Recombinant] is indicated for prevention of infection caused by all known subtypes of hepatitis B virus. RECOMBIVAX HB is approved for use in individuals of all ages. RECOMBIVAX HB Dialysis Formulation is approved for use in adult predialysis and dialysis patients 18 years of age and older.</IndicationAndUsage>

RECOMBIVAX HB Hepatitis B Vaccine (Recombinant) is a sterile suspension of non-infectious subunit viral vaccine derived from HBsAg produced in yeast cells. The vaccine is of the adw subtype.

<IndicationAndUsage>GARDASIL is a vaccine indicated in girls and women 9 through 26 years of age for the prevention of the following diseases caused by Human Papillomavirus (HPV) types included in the vaccine: 1 Cervical, vulvar, vaginal, and anal cancer caused by HPV types 16 and 18. (1.1), 2 Genital warts (condyloma acuminata) caused by HPV types 6 and 11. (1.1).</IndicationAndUsage>

GARDASIL, Human Papillomavirus Quadrivalent (Types 6, 11, 16, and 18) Vaccine, Recombinant, is a non-infectious recombinant quadrivalent vaccine prepared from the purified virus-like particles (VLPs) of the major capsid (L1) protein of HPV Types 6, 11, 16, and 18. The L1 proteins are produced by separate fermentations in recombinant Saccharomyces cerevisiae and self-assembled into VLPs. The fermentation process involves growth of S. cerevisiae on chemically-defined fermentation media which include vitamins, amino acids, mineral salts, and carbohydrates. The VLPs are released from the yeast cells by cell disruption and purified by a series of chemical and physical methods. The purified VLPs are adsorbed on preformed aluminum-containing adjuvant (Amorphous Aluminum Hydroxyphosphate Sulfate). The quadrivalent HPV VLP vaccine is a sterile liquid suspension that is prepared by combining the adsorbed VLPs of each HPV type and additional amounts of the aluminum-containing adjuvant and the final purification buffer. GARDASIL is a sterile suspension for intramuscular administration. Each 0.5-mL dose contains approximately 20 mcg of HPV 6 L1 protein, 40 mcg of HPV 11 L1 protein, 40 mcg of HPV 16 L1 protein, and 20 mcg of HPV 18 L1 protein. Each 0.5-mL dose of the vaccine contains approximately 225 mcg of aluminum (as Amorphous Aluminum Hydroxyphosphate Sulfate adjuvant), 9.56 mg of sodium chloride, 0.78 mg of L-histidine, 50 mcg of polysorbate 80, 35 mcg of sodium borate, <7 mcg yeast protein/dose, and water for injection. The product does not contain a preservative or antibiotics. After thorough agitation, GARDASIL is a white, cloudy liquid.
