"IndicationAndUsage": "Amoxicillin and Clavulanate Potassium Tablets are indicated for the treatment of infections in adults and pediatric patients, due to susceptible isolates of the designated bacteria in the conditions listed below: 1 Lower Respiratory Tract Infections -caused by beta‑lactamase‑producing isolates of Haemophilus influenzae and Moraxella catarrhalis., 2 Acute Bacterial Otitis Media -caused by beta‑lactamase‑producing isolates of H. influenzae and M. catarrhalis., 3 Sinusitis -caused by beta‑lactamase‑producing isolates of H. influenzae and M. catarrhalis., 4 Skin and Skin Structure Infections -caused by beta‑lactamase‑producing isolates of Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Klebsiella species., 5 Urinary Tract Infections -caused by beta‑lactamase‑producing isolates of E. coli, Klebsiella species, and Enterobacter species.",
"Description": "Amoxicillin and Clavulanate Potassium Tablets, USP are an oral antibacterial combination consisting of amoxicillin and the beta-lactamase inhibitor, clavulanate potassium (the potassium salt of clavulanic acid). Amoxicillin is an analog of ampicillin, derived from the basic penicillin nucleus, 6-aminopenicillanic acid. The amoxicillin molecular formula is C16H19N3O5S3H2O, and the molecular weight is 419.46. Chemically, amoxicillin is (2S,5R,6R)-6-[(R)-(-)-2-Amino-2-(p-hydroxyphenyl) acetamido]-3,3-dimethyl-7-oxo-4-thia-1-azabicyclo[3.2.0]heptane-2-carboxylic acid trihydrate and may be represented structurally as. Clavulanic acid is produced by the fermentation of Streptomyces clavuligerus. It is a beta-lactam structurally related to the penicillins and possesses the ability to inactivate some beta-lactamases by blocking the active sites of these enzymes. The clavulanate potassium molecular formula is C8H8KNO5, and the molecular weight is 237.25. Chemically, clavulanate potassium is potassium (Z)(2R,5R)-3-(2-hydroxyethylidene)-7-oxo-4-oxa-1-azabicyclo[3.2.0]-heptane-2-carboxylate and may be represented structurally as. Inactive Ingredients:Colloidal silicon dioxide, ethylcellulose, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, propylene glycol, sodium starch glycolate, and titanium dioxide. Each tablet of amoxicillin/clavulanate potassium contains 0.63 mEq potassium. FDA approved dissolution test specifications differ from USP."

"IndicationAndUsage": "To reduce the development of drug-resistant bacteria and maintain effectiveness of Doxycycline Hyclate Tablets, USP and other antibacterial drugs, Doxycycline Hyclate Tablets, USP should be used only to treat or prevent infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by susceptible bacteria. When culture and susceptibility information are available, they should be considered in selecting or modifying antibacterial therapy. In the absence of such data, local epidemiology and susceptibility patterns may contribute to the empiric selection of therapy.",
"Description": "Doxycycline Hyclate Tablets, USP, are an antibacterial drug synthetically derived from oxytetracycline. The structural formula of doxycycline monohydrate is. with a molecular formula of C22H24N2O8H2O and a molecular weight of 462.46. The chemical designation for doxycycline is 4-(Dimethylamino)-1,4,4a,5,5a,6,11,12a-octahydro-3,5,10,12,12a-pentahydroxy-6-methyl-1,11-dioxo-2-naphthacenecarboxamide monohydrate. The molecular formula for doxycycline hydrochloride hemiethanolate hemihydrate is (C22H24N2O8HCl)2C2H6OH2O and the molecular weight is 1025.89. Doxycycline is a light yellow crystalline powder. Doxycycline hyclate is soluble in water, while doxycycline monohydrate is very slightly soluble in water. Doxycycline has a high degree of lipoid solubility and a low affinity for calcium binding. It is highly stable in normal human serum. Doxycycline will not degrade into an epianhydro form. Each tablet for oral administration contains doxycycline hyclate equivalent to 100 mg of doxycycline (anhydrous). Inactive ingredients are: Colloidal Silicon Dioxide, Corn Starch, Croscarmellose Sodium, Docusate Sodium, Sodium Benzoate, Magnesium Stearate, and Microcrystalline Cellulose. Film Coating and Polishing contains: FD&C Blue No. 2, FD&C Yellow No. 6, Hydroxypropyl Methylcellulose, Polyethylene Glycol, and Titanium Dioxide."

"IndicationAndUsage": "To reduce the development of drug-resistant bacteria and maintain the effectiveness of gentamicin injection and other antibacterial drugs, gentamicin injection should be used only to treat or prevent infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by susceptible bacteria. When culture and susceptibility information are available, they should be considered in selecting or modifying antibacterial therapy. In the absence of such data, local epidemiology and susceptibility patterns may contribute to the empiric selection of therapy. Gentamicin injection is indicated in the treatment of serious infections caused by susceptible strains of the following microorganisms: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Proteus species (indole-positive and indole-negative), Escherichia coli, Klebsiella-Enterobacter- Serratia species, Citrobacter species and Staphylococcus species (coagulase-positive and coagulase-negative). Clinical studies have shown gentamicin injection to be effective in bacterial neonatal sepsis; bacterial septicemia and serious bacterial infections of the central nervous system (meningitis), urinary tract, respiratory tract, gastrointestinal tract (including peritonitis), skin, bone and soft tissue (including burns). Aminoglycosides, including gentamicin, are not indicated in uncomplicated initial episodes of urinary tract infections unless the causative organisms are susceptible to these antibiotics and are not susceptible to antibiotics having less potential for toxicity. Specimens for bacterial culture should be obtained to isolate and identify causative organisms and to determine their susceptibility to gentamicin. Gentamicin injection may be considered as initial therapy in suspected or confirmed gram-negative infections, and therapy may be instituted before obtaining results of susceptibility testing. The decision to continue therapy with this drug should be based on the results of susceptibility tests, the severity of the infection and the important additional concepts contained in the BOXED WARNINGS. If the causative organisms are resistant to gentamicin, other appropriate therapy should be instituted. In serious infections when the causative organisms are unknown, gentamicin injection may be administered as initial therapy in conjunction with a penicillin-type or cephalosporin-type drug before obtaining results of susceptibility testing. If anaerobic organisms are suspected as etiologic agents, consideration should be given to using other suitable antimicrobial therapy in conjunction with gentamicin. Following identification of the organism and its susceptibility, appropriate antibiotic therapy should then be continued. Gentamicin injection has been used effectively in combination with carbenicillin for the treatment of life-threatening infections caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa. It has also been found effective when used in conjunction with a penicillin-type drug for treatment of endocarditis caused by group D streptococci. Gentamicin injection has also been shown to be effective in the treatment of serious staphylococcal infections. While not the antibiotic of first choice, gentamicin injection may be considered when penicillins or other less potentially toxic drugs are contraindicated and bacterial susceptibility tests and clinical judgment indicate its use. It may also be considered in mixed infections caused by susceptible strains of staphylococci and gram-negative organisms. In the neonate with suspected bacterial sepsis or staphylococcal pneumonia, a penicillin- type drug is also usually indicated as concomitant therapy with gentamicin.",
"Description": "Gentamicin sulfate, a water-soluble antibiotic of the aminoglycoside group, is derived by the growth of Micromonospora purpurea, an actinomycete. It has the following structural formula. Gentamicin Injection, USP is a sterile, nonpyrogenic aqueous solution for parenteral administration. Each mL contains: Gentamicin sulfate equivalent to 40 mg gentamicin, methylparaben 1.8 mg and propylparaben 0.2 mg as preservatives, sodium metabisulfite 3.2 mg and edetate disodium 0.1 mg, Water for Injection q.s. Sodium hydroxide and/or sulfuric acid may have been added for pH adjustment."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Dobutamine is indicated when parenteral therapy is necessary for inotropic support in the short‑term treatment of patients with cardiac decompensation due to depressed contractility resulting either from organic heart disease or from cardiac surgical procedures. Experience with intravenous dobutamine in controlled trials does not extend beyond 48 hours of repeated boluses and/or continuous infusions. Whether given orally, continuously intravenously, or intermittently intravenously, neither dobutamine nor any other cyclic-AMP-dependent inotrope has been shown in controlled trials to be safe or effective in the long-term treatment of congestive heart failure. In controlled trials of chronic oral therapy with various such agents, symptoms were not consistently alleviated, and the cyclic-AMP-dependent inotropes were consistently associated with increased risk of hospitalization and death. Patients with NYHA Class IV symptoms appeared to be at particular risk.",
"Description": "Dobutamine Injection USP is (±)-4-[2-[[3-(p-Hydroxyphenyl)-1-methylpropyl]amino]ethyl]-pyrocatechol hydrochloride. It is a synthetic catecholamine. Molecular Formula: C18H23NO3HCl. Molecular Weight: 337.84. The clinical formulation is supplied in a sterile form for intravenous use only. Each mL contains: dobutamine hydrochloride, equivalent to 12.5 mg (41.5 µmol) dobutamine; sodium metabisulfite 0.26 mg, and water for injection, q.s. Hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide may have been added during manufacture to adjust the pH (2.5 to 5.5)."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Cisatracurium besylate injection is indicated: 1 as an adjunct to general anesthesia to facilitate tracheal intubation in adults and in pediatric patients 1 month to 12 years of age, 2 to provide skeletal muscle relaxation in adults during surgical procedures or during mechanical ventilation in the ICU, 3 to provide skeletal muscle relaxation during surgical procedures via infusion in pediatric patients 2 years and older.",
"Description": "Cisatracurium Besylate Injection, USP is a nondepolarizing skeletal neuromuscular blocker for intravenous administration. Compared to other neuromuscular blockers, it is intermediate in its onset and duration of action. Cisatracurium Besylate Injection, USP contains cisatracurium besylate as the active pharmaceutical ingredient. Cisatracurium besylate is one of 10 isomers of atracurium besylate and constitutes approximately 15% of that mixture. Cisatracurium besylate is [1R-[1α,2α(1'R*,2'R*)]]-2,2'-[1,5-pentanediylbis[oxy(3-oxo-3,1-propanediyl)]]bis[1-[(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)methyl]-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-6,7-dimethoxy-2-methylisoquinolinium] dibenzenesulfonate. The molecular formula of the cisatracurium parent bis-cation is C53H72N2O12 and the molecular weight is 929.2. The molecular formula of cisatracurium as the besylate salt is C65H82N2O18S2 and the molecular weight is 1243.49. The structural formula of cisatracurium besylate is. The log of the partition coefficient of cisatracurium besylate is -2.12 in a 1-octanol/distilled water system at 25°C. Cisatracurium Besylate Injection, USP is a sterile, non-pyrogenic aqueous solution. Each mL in the single-dose vials contains either 2 mg or 10 mg of cisatracurium (equivalent to 2.68 mg and 13.38 mg of cisatracurium besylate; respectively), and benzenesulfonic acid as pH adjuster in water for injection. The pH of Cisatracurium Besylate Injection, USP is between 3.0 and 3.8."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Lidocaine Hydrochloride Injection is indicated in adult and pediatric patients for the production of local or regional anesthesia or analgesia for surgery, dental, and oral surgery procedures, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and for obstetrical procedures. Specific concentrations and presentations of Lidocaine Hydrochloride Injection is recommended for each type of block indicated to produce local or regional anesthesia or analgesia [see Dosage and Administration (2.2)].",
"Description": "Lidocaine Hydrochloride Injection, USP is a sterile, nonpyrogenic, aqueous, isotonic, clear, colorless solution that contains a local anesthetic agent and is administered parenterally by injection. See INDICATIONS AND USAGE for specific uses. Lidocaine Hydrochloride Injection solutions contain lidocaine hydrochloride which is chemically designated as acetamide, 2-(diethylamino)-N-(2,6-dimethylphenyl)-, monohydrochloride and has the molecular wt. 270.8. Lidocaine HCl (C14H22N2O HCl) has the following structural formula. Each mL of the 1% solution contains lidocaine hydrochloride 10 mg, sodium chloride 7 mg and 1 mg methylparaben as antiseptic preservative. Each mL of the 2% solution contains lidocaine hydrochloride 20 mg, sodium chloride 6 mg and 1 mg methylparaben as antiseptic preservative. The pH of these solutions is adjusted to approximately 5.0 to 7.0 with sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Lidocaine Hydrochloride Injection is indicated in adult and pediatric patients for the production of local or regional anesthesia or analgesia for surgery, dental, and oral surgery procedures, diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, and for obstetrical procedures. Specific concentrations and presentations of Lidocaine Hydrochloride Injection is recommended for each type of block indicated to produce local or regional anesthesia or analgesia [see Dosage and Administration (2.2)].",
"Description": "Lidocaine Hydrochloride Injection, USP is a sterile, nonpyrogenic, aqueous, isotonic, clear, colorless solution that contains a local anesthetic agent and is administered parenterally by injection. See INDICATIONS AND USAGE for specific uses. Lidocaine Hydrochloride Injection solutions contain lidocaine hydrochloride which is chemically designated as acetamide, 2-(diethylamino)-N-(2,6-dimethylphenyl)-, monohydrochloride and has the molecular wt. 270.8. Lidocaine HCl (C14H22N2O HCl) has the following structural formula. Each mL of the 1% solution contains lidocaine hydrochloride 10 mg, sodium chloride 7 mg and 1 mg methylparaben as antiseptic preservative. Each mL of the 2% solution contains lidocaine hydrochloride 20 mg, sodium chloride 6 mg and 1 mg methylparaben as antiseptic preservative. The pH of these solutions is adjusted to approximately 5.0 to 7.0 with sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid."

"Description": "Calcium Gluconate Injection, USP is a clear, colorless to slightly yellow, sterile, preservative-free, nonpyrogenic, supersaturated solution of calcium gluconate, a form of calcium, for intravenous use. Calcium Gluconate is calcium D-gluconate (1:2) monohydrate. The structural formula is. Molecular formula: C12H22CaO14 H2O Molecular weight: 448.39 Solubility in water: 3.5 g/100 mL at 25°C Calcium Gluconate Injection, USP is available as 10,000 mg per 100 mL (100 mg per mL) in a pharmacy bulk package. Each mL of Calcium Gluconate Injection, USP contains 100 mg of calcium gluconate (equivalent to 94 mg of calcium gluconate and 4.5 mg of calcium saccharate tetrahydrate), hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide for pH adjustment (6.0 to 8.2) and water for injection, q.s. It contains no antimicrobial agent. Each mL of Calcium Gluconate Injection, USP contains 9.3 mg (0.465 mEq) of elemental calcium."

"Description": "Idarubicin Hydrochloride Injection, USP contains idarubicin hydrochloride and is a sterile, semi-synthetic, preservative-free solution (PFS) antineoplastic anthracycline for intravenous use. Chemically, idarubicin hydrochloride is (1S,3S)-3-Acetyl-1,2,3,4,6,11-hexahydro-3,5,12-trihydroxy-6,11-dioxo-1-naphthacenyl 3-amino-2,3,6-trideoxy-α-L-lyxo-hexopyranoside, hydrochloride. The structural formula is as follows. C26H27NO9HCl. M.W. 533.95. Idarubicin Hydrochloride Injection, USP is a sterile, red-orange, isotonic parenteral preservative-free solution, available in 5 mL (5 mg), 10 mL (10 mg) and 20 mL (20 mg) single-use-only vials. Each mL contains idarubicin hydrochloride 1 mg and the following inactive ingredients: glycerin 25 mg and water for injection q.s. Hydrochloric acid is used to adjust the pH to a target of 3.5."

Ropivacaine hydrochloride, USP is chemically described as (S)-(–)-1-propylpiperidine-2-carboxylic acid (2,6-dimethylphenyl)amide hydrochloride monohydrate. The drug substance is a white crystalline powder, with the following structural formula. At 25 °C ropivacaine hydrochloride, USP has a solubility of 53.8 mg/mL in water, a distribution ratio between n-octanol and phosphate buffer at pH 7.4 of 14:1 and a pKa of 8.07 in 0.1 M KCl solution. The pKa of ropivacaine is approximately the same as bupivacaine (8.1) and is similar to that of mepivacaine (7.7). However, ropivacaine hydrochloride, USP has an intermediate degree of lipid solubility compared to bupivacaine and mepivacaine. Ropivacaine Hydrochloride Injection, USP is preservative-free and is available in single dose containers in 2 (0.2%), 5 (0.5%), 7.5 (0.75%) and 10 mg/mL (1%) concentrations. "Description": "Amoxicillin Tablets, USP are semisynthetic antibacterial (amoxicillin), an analog of ampicillin, with a broad spectrum of bactericidal activity against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms. Chemically, it is (2S,5R,6R)6-[(R)-(-)-2-amino-2-(p-hydroxyphenyl)acetamido]-3,3-dimethyl-7-oxo-4-thia-1-azabicyclo[3.2.0]heptane-2-carboxylic acid trihydrate. It may be represented structurally as. The amoxicillin molecular formula is C16H19N3O5S3H2O, and the molecular weight is 419.45. Tablets: Each film-coated tablet contains 875 mg amoxicillin as the trihydrate. Each film-coated, capsule shaped, white tablet is scored on one side and engraved WW951 on the other side. Inactive ingredients: colloidal silicone dioxide, crospovidone, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, polyvinyl alcohol-partially hydrolized, polyethylene glycol, sodium starch glycolate, talc, and titanium dioxide."

"Description": "Idarubicin Hydrochloride Injection, USP contains idarubicin hydrochloride and is a sterile, semi-synthetic, preservative-free solution (PFS) antineoplastic anthracycline for intravenous use. Chemically, idarubicin hydrochloride is (1S,3S)-3-Acetyl-1,2,3,4,6,11-hexahydro-3,5,12-trihydroxy-6,11-dioxo-1-naphthacenyl 3-amino-2,3,6-trideoxy-α-L-lyxo-hexopyranoside, hydrochloride. The structural formula is as follows. C26H27NO9HCl. M.W. 533.95. Idarubicin Hydrochloride Injection, USP is a sterile, red-orange, isotonic parenteral preservative-free solution, available in 5 mL (5 mg), 10 mL (10 mg) and 20 mL (20 mg) single-use-only vials. Each mL contains idarubicin hydrochloride 1 mg and the following inactive ingredients: glycerin 25 mg and water for injection q.s. Hydrochloric acid is used to adjust the pH to a target of 3.5."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Etomidate Injection, USP is indicated by intravenous injection for induction of general anesthesia. When considering use of etomidate, the usefulness of its hemodynamic properties (seeCLINICAL PHARMACOLOGY) should be weighed against the high frequency of transient skeletal muscle movements (see ADVERSE REACTIONS). Intravenous etomidate is also indicated for supplementation of subpotent anesthetic agents, such as nitrous oxide in oxygen, during maintenance of anesthesia for short operative procedures such as dilation and curettage or cervical conization.",

"IndicationAndUsage": "Labetalol HCl Injection, USP is indicated for control of blood pressure in severe hypertension.",
"Description": "Labetalol Hydrochloride Injection, USP is an adrenergic receptor blocking agent that has both selective alpha1-adrenergic and nonselective beta-adrenergic receptor blocking actions in a single substance. Labetalol hydrochloride (HCl) is a racemate chemically designated as 5-[1-Hydroxy-2-[(1-methyl-3-phenylpropyl)amino]ethyl]-salicylamide monohydrochloride and it has the following structural formula. Labetalol HCl has the molecular formula C19H24N2O3HCl and a molecular weight of 364.87. It has two asymmetric centers and therefore exists as a molecular complex of two diastereoisomeric pairs. Dilevalol, the R,R' stereoisomer, makes up 25% of racemic labetalol. Labetalol HCl is a white or off-white crystalline powder, soluble in water. Labetalol HCl Injection, USP is a clear, colorless to light yellow, aqueous, sterile, isotonic solution for intravenous injection. It has a pH range of 3 to 4. Each milliliter contains 5 mg of labetalol HCl, 45 mg of anhydrous dextrose, 0.1 mg of edetate disodium; 0.8 mg of methylparaben and 0.1 mg of propylparaben as preservatives; and citric acid monohydrate and sodium hydroxide, as necessary, to bring the solution into the pH range."

Milrinone lactate is designated chemically as 1,6-dihydro-2-methyl-6-oxo-[3,4´-bipyridine]-5-carbonitrile lactate and has the following structure. CH3CHOHCOOH. Milrinone is an off-white to tan crystalline compound with a molecular weight of 211.2 and a molecular formula of C12H9N3O. It is slightly soluble in methanol, and very slightly soluble in chloroform and in water. As the lactate salt, it is stable and colorless to pale yellow in solution. Milrinone lactate is available as sterile aqueous solutions of the lactate salt of milrinone for injection or infusion intravenously. Sterile, Single Dose Vials: Single dose vials of 20 mL contain in each mL milrinone lactate equivalent to 1 mg milrinone and 47 mg Dextrose Anhydrous, USP, in Water for Injection, USP. The pH is adjusted to between 3.2 and 4.0 with lactic acid or sodium hydroxide. The total concentration of lactic acid can vary between 0.95 mg/mL and 1.29 mg/mL. These vials require preparation of dilutions prior to administration to patients intravenously."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Leucovorin calcium, USP rescue is indicated after high dose methotrexate therapy in osteosarcoma. Leucovorin calcium, USP is also indicated to diminish the toxicity and counteract the effects of impaired methotrexate elimination and of inadvertent overdosages of folic acid antagonists. Leucovorin calcium, USP is indicated in the treatment of megaloblastic anemias due to folic acid deficiency when oral therapy is not feasible. Leucovorin Calcium, USP is also indicated for use in combination with 5-fluorouracil to prolong survival in the palliative treatment of patients with advanced colorectal cancer. Leucovorin should not be mixed in the same infusion as 5-fluorouracil because a precipitate may form.",
"Description": "Leucovorin is one of several active, chemically reduced derivatives of folic acid. It is useful as an antidote to drugs which act as folic acid antagonists. Also known as folinic acid, Citrovorum factor, or 5-formyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydrofolic acid, this compound has the chemical designation of Calcium N-[p-[[[(6RS)-2-amino-5-formyl-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-4-hydroxy-6-pteridinyl]methyl]amino]benzoyl]-L-glutamate (1:1). The structural formula of leucovorin calcium is. C20H21CaN7O7 M.W.=511.51. Leucovorin Calcium for Injection, USP is a sterile product indicated for intramuscular (IM) or intravenous (IV) administration and is supplied in 200 mg vials. Each 200 mg vial of Leucovorin Calcium for Injection, USP, when reconstituted with 20 mL of sterile diluent, contains leucovorin (as the calcium salt) 10 mg/mL. One milligram of leucovorin calcium, USP contains 0.002 mmol of leucovorin and 0.002 mmol of calcium. These lyophilized products contain no preservative. The inactive ingredient is Sodium Chloride, added to adjust tonicity. Sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid may be added for pH adjustment. pH adjusted to 7.0 to 8.5. Reconstitute with Bacteriostatic Water for Injection, which contains benzyl alcohol (see WARNINGS section), or with Sterile Water for Injection."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Meropenem for injection is a penem antibacterial indicated for the treatment of: 1 Complicated skin and skin structure infections (adult patients and pediatric patients 3 months of age and older only). (1.1), 2 Complicated intra-abdominal infections (adult and pediatric patients). (1.2), 3 Bacterial meningitis (pediatric patients 3 months of age and older only). (1.3).",
"Description": "Meropenem for Injection, USP (meropenem for injection) is a sterile, pyrogen-free, synthetic, carbapenem antibacterial for intravenous administration. It is (4R,5S,6S)-3- [[(3S,5S)-5-(Dimethylcarbamoyl)-3-pyrrolidinyl]thio]-6- [(1R)-1-hydroxyethyl]-4-methyl-7-oxo-1-azabicyclo[3.2.0]hept-2-ene-2-carboxylic acid trihydrate. Its empirical formula is C17H25N3O5S∙3H2O with a molecular weight of 437.52. Its structural formula is. Meropenem for Injection, USP is a white to pale yellow crystalline powder. The solution varies from colorless to yellow depending on the concentration. The pH of freshly constituted solutions is between 7.3 and 8.3. Meropenem is soluble in 5% monobasic potassium phosphate solution, sparingly soluble in water, very slightly soluble in hydrated ethanol, and practically insoluble in acetone or ether. When re-constituted as instructed, each 1 gram Meropenem for Injection, USP vial will deliver 1 gram of meropenem and 90.2 mg of sodium as sodium carbonate (3.92 mEq). Each 500 mg Meropenem for Injection, USP vial will deliver 500 mg meropenem and 45.1 mg of sodium as sodium carbonate (1.96 mEq) [see Dosage and Administration (2.4)]."
