"IndicationAndUsage": "Dextrose Injection (5% and 10%) is indicated as source of water and calories in adult and pediatric patients, and may also be used as a diluent for reconstitution of a powder or liquid drug product.",
"Description": "Dextrose Injection, 5% and 10% USP are sterile, non-pyrogenic solutions of Dextrose, USP in Water for Injection in a polyvinylchloride flexible plastic container for intravenous administration as a source of water and calories. Partial-fill containers, designed to facilitate admixture when necessary, are available in 25 mL, 50 mL, 100 mL, 250 mL, 500 mL, and 1000 mL sizes. See Table 1 for the content and characteristics of this solution. The solution contains no bacteriostatic, antimicrobial agent or added buffer and is intended only for use as a single-dose injection. The pH range is 4.0 (3.2 to 6.5). Water can permeate from inside the container into the overwrap but not in amounts sufficient to affect the solution significantly. Dextrose, USP is chemically designated D-glucose, monohydrate (C6H12O6 H2O), a hexose sugar freely soluble in water. The molecular weight of dextrose (D-glucose) monohydrate is 198.17. It has the following structural formula. Water for Injection, USP is chemically designated H2O. Dextrose is derived from corn. The VIAFLEX Plus plastic container is fabricated from polyvinyl chloride (PL 146 Plastic). VIAFLEX Plus on the container indicates the presence of a drug additive in a drug vehicle. The VIAFLEX Plus plastic container system utilizes the same container as the VIAFLEX plastic container system. The amount of water that can permeate from inside the container into the overwrap is insufficient to affect the solution. Solutions in contact with the plastic container can leach out certain of its chemical components in small amounts within the expiration period, e.g., di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP), up to 5 parts per million. The safety of the plastic has been confirmed in tests in animals according to USP biological tests for plastic containers as well as by tissue culture toxicity studies."

The VIAFLEX plastic container is fabricated from a specially formulated polyvinyl chloride (PL 146 Plastic). "IndicationAndUsage": "PREMASOL 10% injection is indicated for the nutritional support of infants (including those of low birth weight) and young children requiring TPN via either central or peripheral infusion routes. Parenteral nutrition with PREMASOL 10% injection is indicated to prevent nitrogen and weight loss or treat negative nitrogen balance in infants and young children where: (1) the alimentary tract, by the oral, gastrostomy, or jejunostomy route, cannot or should not be used, or adequate protein intake is not feasible by these routes; (2) gastrointestinal absorption of protein is impaired; or (3) protein requirements are substantially increased as with extensive burns. Dosage, route of administration, and concomitant infusion of non-protein calories are dependent on various factors, such as nutritional and metabolic status of the patient, anticipated duration of parenteral nutritional support, and vein tolerance (see DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION).",
"Description": "PREMASOL 10% injection is a sterile, nonpyrogenic, hypertonic solutions containing crystalline amino acids provided in a Pharmacy Bulk Package. A Pharmacy Bulk Package is a container of a sterile preparation for parenteral use that contains many single doses. The contents are intended for use in a pharmacy admixture program and are restricted to the preparation of admixtures for intravenous infusion. The VIAFLEX plastic container is fabricated from a specially formulated polyvinyl chloride (PL 146 Plastic). Exposure to temperatures above 25°C/77°F during transport and storage will lead to minor losses in moisture content. Higher temperatures lead to greater losses. It is unlikely that these minor losses will lead to clinically significant changes within the expiration period. The amount of water that can permeate from inside the container into the overwrap is insufficient to affect the solution significantly. Solutions in contact with the plastic container can leach out certain of its chemical components in very small amounts within the expiration period (e.g., di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate, DEHP, at not more than 0.2 part per million); however, the safety of the plastic has been confirmed in tests in animals according to USP biological tests for plastic containers as well as by tissue culture toxicity studies. Intravenous fat emulsion should not be administered in polyvinyl chloride (PVC) containers that use di-2-ethylhexyl phthalate (DEHP) as a plasticizer, because the fat emulsion facilitates the leaching of DEHP from these containers. Each 100 mL contains."

<IndicationAndUsage>Dextrose Injection (5% and 10%) is indicated as source of water and calories in adult and pediatric patients, and may also be used as a diluent for reconstitution of a powder or liquid drug product.</IndicationAndUsage>
<Description>Dextrose Injection, 5% and 10% USP are sterile, non-pyrogenic solutions of Dextrose, USP in Water for Injection in a polyvinylchloride flexible plastic container for intravenous administration as a source of water and calories. The safety of the plastic has been confirmed in tests in animals according to USP biological tests for plastic containers as well as by tissue culture toxicity studies.</Description>

<IndicationAndUsage>PREMASOL 10% injection is indicated for the nutritional support of infants (including those of low birth weight) and young children requiring TPN via either central or peripheral infusion routes. Dosage, route of administration, and concomitant infusion of non-protein calories are dependent on various factors, such as nutritional and metabolic status of the patient, anticipated duration of parenteral nutritional support, and vein tolerance (see DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION).</IndicationAndUsage>
<Description>PREMASOL 10% injection is a sterile, nonpyrogenic, hypertonic solutions containing crystalline amino acids provided in a Pharmacy Bulk Package.
