"IndicationAndUsage": "For the management of manifestations of psychotic disorders. For the treatment of schizophrenia. To control nausea and vomiting. For relief of restlessness and apprehension before surgery. For acute intermittent porphyria. As an adjunct in the treatment of tetanus. To control the manifestations of the manic type of manic-depressive illness. For relief of intractable hiccups. For the treatment of severe behavioral problems in children (1 to 12 years of age) marked by combativeness and/or explosive hyperexcitable behavior (out of proportion to immediate provocations), and in the short-term treatment of hyperactive children who show excessive motor activity with accompanying conduct disorders consisting of some or all of the following symptoms: impulsivity, difficulty sustaining attention, aggressivity, mood lability and poor frustration tolerance.",
"Description": "Chlorpromazine hydrochloride, a dimethylamine derivative of phenothiazine, has a chemical formula of 2-chloro-10-[3-(dimethylamino) propyl] phenothiazine monohydrochloride. It is available in tablets for oral administration. It has the following structural formula. Chlorpromazine hydrochloride occurs as white or slightly creamy white, odorless, crystalline powder which darkens on prolonged exposure to light. Each tablet for oral administration contains 10 mg, 25 mg, 50 mg, 100 mg, or 200 mg of chlorpromazine hydrochloride, USP. Inactive ingredients: silicon dioxide, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, povidone, hypromellose, polyethylene glycol and titanium dioxide."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Haloperidol is indicated for use in the management of manifestations of psychotic disorders. Haloperidol is indicated for the control of tics and vocal utterances of Tourette's Disorder in children and adults. Haloperidol is effective for the treatment of severe behavior problems in children of combative, explosive hyperexcitability (which cannot be accounted for by immediate provocation). Haloperidol is also effective in the short-term treatment of hyperactive children who show excessive motor activity with accompanying conduct disorders consisting of some or all of the following symptoms: impulsivity, difficulty sustaining attention, aggressivity, mood lability, and poor frustration tolerance. Haloperidol should be reserved for these two groups of children only after failure to respond to psychotherapy or medications other than antipsychotics.",
"Description": "Haloperidol is the first of the butyrophenone series of major tranquilizers. The chemical designation is 4-[4-(p-chlorophenyl)-4-hydroxypiperidino]-4'-fluorobutyrophenone. It has the following structural formula. Each tablet for oral administration contains haloperidol USP, as 0.5 mg, 1 mg, 2 mg, 5 mg, 10 mg or 20 mg. Inactive ingredients for all strengths include colloidal silicon dioxide, hydroxy propyl methyl cellulose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose and sodium starch glycolate. The 2 mg also contains D&C red #27 aluminum lake. The 5 mg, 10 mg, and 20 mg also contain D&C red #27 aluminum lake and D&C yellow #10 aluminum lake."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Topiramate tablets are indicated as initial monotherapy in patients 10 years of age and older with partial onset or primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures. Effectiveness was demonstrated in a controlled trial in patients with epilepsy who had no more than 2 seizures in the 3 months prior to enrollment. Safety and effectiveness in patients who were converted to monotherapy from a previous regimen of other anticonvulsant drugs have not been established in controlled trials. Topiramate tablets are indicated as adjunctive therapy for adults and pediatric patients ages 2 to 16 years with partial onset seizures, or primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures, and in patients 2 years of age and older with seizures associated with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome.",
"Description": "Topiramate is a sulfamate-substituted monosaccharide. Topiramate tablets are available as 25 mg, 50 mg, 100 mg, and 200 mg circular tablets for oral administration. Topiramate is a white crystalline powder with a bitter taste. Topiramate USP is most soluble in alkaline solutions containing sodium hydroxide or sodium phosphate and having a pH of 9 to 10. It is freely soluble in acetone, chloroform, dimethylsulfoxide, and ethanol. The solubility in water is 9.8 mg/mL. Its saturated solution has a pH of 6.3. Topiramate has the molecular formula C12H21NO8S and a molecular weight of 339.37. Topiramate is designated chemically as 2,3:4,5-Di-O-isopropylidene-β-D-fructopyranose sulfamate and has the following structural formula. Topiramate tablets contain the following inactive ingredients: anhydrous lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch, sodium starch glycolate, magnesium stearate, purified water, polyvinyl alcohol, titanium dioxide, polyethylene glycol and talc. In addition, individual tablets contain. 50 mg tablets: iron oxide yellow100 mg tablets: iron oxide yellow, and D&C Yellow # 10 Aluminum Lake200 mg tablets: iron oxide red, lecithin (soya), and iron oxide black."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Oxybutynin chloride tablets, USP are indicated for the relief of symptoms of bladder instability associated with voiding in patients with uninhibited neurogenic or reflex neurogenic bladder (i.e., urgency, frequency, urinary leakage, urge incontinence, dysuria).",
"Description": "Each scored oxybutynin chloride tablet, USP contains 5 mg of oxybutynin chloride. Chemically, oxybutynin chloride, USP is d,l (racemic) 4-diethylamino-2-butynyl phenylcyclohexylglycolate hydrochloride. The empirical formula of oxybutynin chloride is C 22H 31NO 3∙ HCl. The structural formula appears below:. Oxybutynin chloride, USP is a white crystalline solid with a molecular weight of 393.9. It is readily soluble in water and acids, but relatively insoluble in alkalis. Oxybutynin chloride tablets, USP also contain anhydrous lactose, calcium stearate, and microcrystalline cellulose. Oxybutynin chloride tablets, USP are for oral administration. Therapeutic Category: Antispasmodic, anticholinergic."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Amantadine hydrochloride tablets are indicated for the prophylaxis and treatment of signs and symptoms of infection caused by various strains of influenza A virus. Amantadine hydrochloride tablets are also indicated in the treatment of parkinsonism and drug-induced extrapyramidal reactions.",
"Description": "Amantadine hydrochloride, USP is designated generically as amantadine hydrochloride, USP and chemically as 1-adamantanamine hydrochloride. C 10H 17N∙HCl. Amantadine hydrochloride, USP is a stable white or nearly white crystalline powder, freely soluble in water and soluble in alcohol and in chloroform. Amantadine hydrochloride, USP has pharmacological actions as both an anti-Parkinson and an antiviral drug. Each tablet intended for oral administration contains 100 mg amantadine hydrochloride, USP and has the following inactive ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, sodium starch glycolate, magnesium stearate, colloidal silicon dioxide and FD&C Yellow No. 6 Aluminum Lake. Meets USP Dissolution Test 2."

The following inactive ingredients are common to all strengths: hypromellose, microcrystalline cellulose, ethylcellulose, methacrylic acid copolymer, polyethylene glycol, diethyl phthalate, and talc. The capsule shells contain gelatin, titanium dioxide, and black ink. In addition, individual capsules contain: FD&C blue #1, FD&C red #40 (10 mg); D&C yellow #10 (20 mg); FD&C blue #1, FD&C red #40 (30 mg); FD&C blue #1, FD&C red #40 (50 mg); FD&C blue #1, FD&C red #40 (60 mg); FD&C red #40, FD&C yellow #6 (80 mg); FD&C yellow #10, FD&C blue #1 (100 mg). The chemical name of morphine sulfate is 7,8-didehydro-4,5 α-epoxy-17-methyl-morphinan-3,6 α-diol sulfate (2:1) (salt) pentahydrate. The empirical formula is (C 17H 19NO 3) 2∙H 2SO 4∙5H 2O and its molecular weight is 758.85. Morphine sulfate is an odorless, white, crystalline powder with a bitter taste. It has a solubility of 1 in 21 parts of water and 1 in 1,000 parts of alcohol but is practically insoluble in chloroform or ether. The octanol: water partition coefficient of morphine is 1.42 at physiologic pH and the pK bis 7.9 for the tertiary nitrogen (mostly ionized at pH 7.4). Its structural formula is:."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Bexarotene capsules are indicated for the treatment of cutaneous manifestations of cutaneous T-cell lymphoma in patients who are refractory to at least one prior systemic therapy.",
"Description": "Bexarotene capsules are a member of a subclass of retinoids that selectively activate retinoid X receptors (RXRs). These retinoid receptors have biologic activity distinct from that of retinoic acid receptors (RARs). The chemical name of bexarotene is 4-[1-(5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-3,5,5,8,8-pentamethyl-2-naphthalenyl) ethenyl] benzoic acid, and the structural formula is as follows. Bexarotene is an off-white to white powder with a molecular weight of 348.48 and a molecular formula of C24H28O2. It is insoluble in water and slightly soluble in vegetable oils and ethanol, USP. Each bexarotene capsule contains 75 mg of bexarotene for oral administration. It also contains the following inactive ingredients: butylated hydroxyanisole, polyethylene glycol, polysorbate and povidone. The capsule shell contains gelatin, glycerin, sorbitol, titanium dioxide and water."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Bethanechol chloride tablets are indicated for the treatment of acute postoperative and postpartum nonobstructive (functional) urinary retention and for neurogenic atony of the urinary bladder with retention.",
"Description": "Bethanechol chloride, USP, a cholinergic agent, is a synthetic ester which is structurally and pharmacologically related to acetylcholine. It is designated chemically as 2-[(aminocarbonyl)oxy]- N, N, N-trimethyl-1-propanaminium chloride. Its molecular formula is C 7H 17ClN 2O 2and its structural formula is:. It is a white, hygroscopic crystalline powder having a slight amine-like odor, freely soluble in water, and has a molecular weight of 196.68. Each tablet for oral administration contains 5 mg, 10 mg, 25 mg or 50 mg bethanechol chloride, USP.
