"Description": "Naproxen is a proprionic acid derivative related to the arylacetic acid group of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. The chemical name for naproxen is (S)-6-methoxy-α-methyl-2-naphthaleneacetic acid. Naproxen has the following structure. Naproxen has a molecular weight of 230.26 and a molecular formula of C14H14O3. Naproxen is an odorless, white to off-white crystalline substance. It is lipid-soluble, practically insoluble in water at low pH and freely soluble in water at high pH. The octanol/water partition coefficient of naproxen at pH 7.4 is 1.6 to 1.8. Naproxen Tablets, USP are available as white tablets containing 250 mg of naproxen, white tablets containing 375 mg of naproxen and white tablets containing 500 mg of naproxen for oral administration. The inactive ingredients are Croscarmellose Sodium, Povidone and Magnesium Stearate."

"Description": "Naproxen is a propionic acid derivative related to the arylacetic acid group of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs. The chemical name for naproxen sodium is (S)-6-methoxy-〈-methyl-2-naphthalene acetic acid, sodium salt. Naproxen sodium has the following structure. Naproxen sodium has a molecular weight of 252.23 and a molecular formula of C14H13NaO3. Naproxen sodium is a white to creamy white, crystalline solid, freely soluble in water at neutral pH. Naproxen Sodium Tablets, USP are available as blue tablets containing 275 mg of naproxen sodium and as blue tablets containing 550 mg of naproxen sodium. The inactive ingredients are. croscarmellose sodium, macrogol, magnesium stearate, polyvinly alcohol, povidone, talc, titanium dioxide and FD&C Blue #2."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Propranolol hydrochloride tablets are indicated in the management of hypertension. It may be used alone or used in combination with other antihypertensive agents, particularly a thiazide diuretic. Propranolol hydrochloride tablets are not indicated in the management of hypertensive emergencies.",
"Description": "Propranolol hydrochloride is a synthetic beta-adrenergic receptor blocking agent chemically described as 2-Propanol, 1-[(1-methylethyl)amino]-3-(1-naphthalenyloxy)-, hydrochloride, (±)-. Its molecular and structural formulae are. Propranolol hydrochloride, USP is a stable, white, crystalline solid which is readily soluble in water and ethanol. Its molecular weight is 295.80. Each tablet for oral administration contains 10 mg, 20 mg, 40 mg, 60 mg or 80 mg of propranolol hydrochloride and the following inactive ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch and sodium lauryl sulfate. The coloring agents are. 10 mg: FD&C Yellow No. 6 Aluminum Lake. 20 mg: FD&C Blue No. 1 Aluminum Lake. 40 mg: FD&C Blue No. 1 Aluminum Lake, FD&C Yellow No. 6 Aluminum Lake and D&C Yellow No. 10 Aluminum Lake. 60 mg: FD&C Blue No. 1 Aluminum Lake and FD&C Red No. 40 Aluminum Lake. 80 mg: FD&C Yellow No. 6 Aluminum Lake and D&C Yellow No. 10 Aluminum Lake."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Dimethyl fumarate delayed-release capsules are indicated for the treatment of relapsing forms of multiple sclerosis (MS), to include clinically isolated syndrome, relapsing-remitting disease, and active secondary progressive disease, in adults.",
"Description": "Dimethyl fumarate delayed-release capsule contains dimethyl fumarate which is also known by its chemical name, dimethyl (E) butenedioate, (C6H8O4). It has the following structure. Dimethyl fumarate is a white to off-white powder that is slightly soluble in methanol and highly soluble in water with a molecular mass of 144.13. Dimethyl fumarate is provided as hard gelatin delayed-release capsules for oral administration, containing 120 mg or 240 mg of dimethyl fumarate consisting of the following inactive ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate, methacrylic acid and ethyl acrylate copolymer dispersion (which contains polymer substance based on ethyl acrylate and methacrylic acid, polysorbate 80 and sodium lauryl sulfate), methacrylic acid copolymer Type A [which contains poly (methacrylic acid-co-methacrylate) 1:1 and sodium lauryl sulfate], silicified microcrystalline cellulose, talc and triethyl citrate. The empty hard gelatin capsule shell contains gelatin, sodium lauryl sulphate and titanium dioxide. In addition, the 240 mg capsule shell contains FD&C Blue 2 and iron oxide yellow. The capsules are imprinted with black edible ink containing black iron oxide, potassium hydroxide, propylene glycol, shellac and strong ammonia solution."

"Description": "Diclofenac sodium delayed-release tablets, USP is a benzene-acetic acid derivative. Diclofenac sodium is a white to off-white, hygroscopic, crystalline powder, melts at about 284°C and freely soluble in. methanol; soluble in ethanol; sparingly soluble in water; practically insoluble in chloroform and in ether. The chemical name is Benzeneacetic acid, 2-[(2,6-dichlorophenyl)amino]-, monosodium salt. The molecular weight is 318.13 g/mol. Its molecular formula is C 14H 10Cl 2NNaO 2, and it has the following structural formula. Each enteric-coated tablet for oral administration contains 25 mg, 50 mg, or 75 mg of diclofenac. The inactive ingredients in diclofenac sodium delayed-release tablets, USP include: croscarmellose sodium, hypromellose, lactose (monohydrate), magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, methacrylic acid copolymer, polyethylene glycol, povidone, talc, triethyl citrate, Titanium dioxide, iron oxide red, iron oxide yellow (50 mg and 75 mg tablets) or D&C Yellow No. 10 Al. Lake (25 mg tablets)."

"IndicationAndUsage": "1.1 Schizophrenia. Quetiapine fumarate tablet is indicated for the treatment of schizophrenia. The efficacy of quetiapine fumarate tablets in schizophrenia was established in three 6-week trials in adults and one 6-week trial in adolescents (13 to 17 years). The effectiveness of quetiapine fumarate tablets for the maintenance treatment of schizophrenia has not been systematically evaluated in controlled clinical trials. [see Clinical Studies (14.1)]. 1.2 Bipolar Disorder. Quetiapine fumarate tablet is indicated for the acute treatment of manic episodes associated with bipolar I disorder, both as monotherapy and as an adjunct to lithium or divalproex. Efficacy was established in two 12-week monotherapy trials in adults, in one 3-week adjunctive trial in adults, and in one 3-week monotherapy trial in pediatric patients (10 to 17 years) [see Clinical Studies (14.2)]. Quetiapine fumarate tablet is indicated as monotherapy for the acute treatment of depressive episodes associated with bipolar disorder. Efficacy was established in two 8-week monotherapy trials in adult patients with bipolar I and bipolar II disorder [see Clinical Studies (14.2)]. Quetiapine fumarate tablet is indicated for the maintenance treatment of bipolar I disorder, as an adjunct to lithium or divalproex. Efficacy was established in two maintenance trials in adults. The effectiveness of quetiapine fumarate tablets as monotherapy for the maintenance treatment of bipolar disorder has not been systematically evaluated in controlled clinical trials. [see Clinical Studies (14.2)]. 1.3 Special Considerations in Treating Pediatric Schizophrenia and Bipolar I Disorder. Pediatric schizophrenia and bipolar I disorder are serious mental disorders, however, diagnosis can be challenging. For pediatric schizophrenia, symptom profiles can be variable, and for bipolar I disorder, patients may have variable patterns of periodicity of manic or mixed symptoms. It is recommended that medication therapy for pediatric schizophrenia and bipolar I disorder be initiated only after a thorough diagnostic evaluation has been performed and careful consideration given to the risks associated with medication treatment. Medication treatment for both pediatric schizophrenia and bipolar I disorder is indicated as part of a total treatment program that often includes psychological, educational and social interventions.",
"Description": "Quetiapine is a psychotropic agent belonging to a chemical class, the dibenzothiazepine derivatives. The chemical designation is 2-[2-(4-dibenzo [b,f ] [1,4]thiazepin-11-yl-1-piperazinyl)ethoxy]-ethanol fumarate (2:1) (salt). It is present in tablets as the fumarate salt. All doses and tablet strengths are expressed as milligrams of base, not as fumarate salt. Its molecular formula is C42H50N6O4S2C4H4O4 and it has a molecular weight of 883.11 (fumarate salt). The structural formula is. Quetiapine fumarate is a white to off-white crystalline powder which is moderately soluble in water. Quetiapine fumarate tablet is supplied for oral administration as 25 mg (round, pink), 50 mg (round, white to off white), 100 mg (round, yellow), 200 mg (round, white to off white), 300 mg (capsule-shaped, white), and 400 mg (capsule-shaped, yellow) tablets. Inactive ingredients are povidone, dibasic calcium phosphate dihydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycolate, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, polyethylene glycol and titanium dioxide. The 25 mg tablets contain iron oxide red and iron oxide yellow and the 100 mg and 400 mg tablets contain only iron oxide yellow. Each 25 mg tablet contains quetiapine fumarate equivalent to 25 mg quetiapine. Each 50 mg tablet contains quetiapine fumarate equivalent to 50 mg quetiapine. Each 100 mg tablet contains quetiapine fumarate equivalent to 100 mg quetiapine. Each 200 mg tablet contains quetiapine fumarate equivalent to 200 mg quetiapine. Each 300 mg tablet contains quetiapine fumarate equivalent to 300 mg quetiapine. Each 400 mg tablet contains quetiapine fumarate equivalent to 400 mg quetiapine."

"Description": "Amoxicillin, USP is a semisynthetic antibacterial (amoxicillin), an analog of ampicillin, with a broad spectrum of bactericidal activity against many Gram-positive and Gram-negative microorganisms. Chemically, it is (2 S,5 R,6 R)-6-[( R)-(-)-2-amino-2-( p-hydroxyphenyl)acetamido]-3,3-dimethyl-7-oxo-4-thia-1-azabicyclo[3.2.0]heptane-2-carboxylic acid trihydrate. It may be represented structurally as:. The amoxicillin, USP molecular formula is C 16H 19N3O 5S3H 2O, and the molecular weight is 419.45. Tablets:Each tablet contains 500 mg or 875 mg of amoxicillin, USP as the trihydrate. Each film-coated tablet contains: colloidal silicon dioxide, crospovidone, D&C Yellow No. 10 aluminum lake, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, sodium starch glycolate, titanium dioxide and triacetin. For Oral Suspension:Each 5 mL of reconstituted suspension contains 200 mg, 250 mg or 400 mg of amoxicillin, USP as the trihydrate. Each 5 mL of the 200 mg reconstituted suspension contains 0.09 mEq (2.11 mg) of sodium. Each 5 mL of the 250 mg reconstituted suspension contains 0.14 mEq (3.24 mg) of sodium. Each 5 mL of the 400 mg reconstituted suspension contains 0.12 mEq (2.69 mg) of sodium. Inactive ingredients for 200 mg and 400 mg: Colloidal silicon dioxide, FD&C Red No. 40, natural and artificial fruit gum flavor, sodium benzoate, sodium citrate, spray dried mask flavor, sucrose, and xanthan gum. Inactive ingredients for 250 mg: FD&C Red No. 40, mixed berry flavoring, silicon dioxide, sodium benzoate, sodium citrate, sucrose, and xanthan gum. Tablets (Chewable):Each tablet contains 125 mg or 250 mg of amoxicillin, USP as the trihydrate. Inactive ingredients in each 125 mg or 250 mg chewable tablet: cherry flavor, lactose anhydrous, magnesium stearate, mannitol, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium citrate, and sucrose. Capsules:Each capsule, for oral administration, contains 250 mg or 500 mg amoxicillin, USP as the trihydrate. The capsules contain the following inactive ingredients: magnesium stearate and talc. The capsule shell contains D&C Yellow No. 10, FD&C Red No. 40, gelatin, and titanium dioxide. In addition, the 250 mg contains D&C Red No. 28 and FD&C Blue No. 1. The 500 mg may also contain methylparaben, propylparaben, and sodium lauryl sulfate. The printing ink contains black iron oxide, propylene glycol, shellac, and strong ammonia solution. In addition, the 250 mg may contain D&C Yellow No. 10 Aluminum Lake, FD&C Blue No. 1 Aluminum Lake, FD&C Blue No. 2 Aluminum Lake, and FD&C Red No. 40 Aluminum Lake. "IndicationAndUsage": "Tramadol hydrochloride and acetaminophen tablets, USP are indicated for the short-term (five days or less) management of acute pain.",
"Description": "Tramadol hydrochloride and acetaminophen tablets, USP combine two analgesics, tramadol, USP 37.5 mg and acetaminophen, USP 325 mg. The chemical name for tramadol hydrochloride, USP is (±)cis-2-[(dimethylamino)methyl]-1-(3-methoxyphenyl) cyclohexanol hydrochloride. Its structural formula is. The molecular weight of tramadol hydrochloride, USP is 299.84. Tramadol hydrochloride, USP is a white, bitter, crystalline and odorless powder. The chemical name for acetaminophen, USP is N-acetyl-p-aminophenol. Its structural formula is. The molecular weight of acetaminophen, USP is 151.17. Acetaminophen, USP is an analgesic and antipyretic agent which occurs as a white, odorless, crystalline powder, possessing a slightly bitter taste. Tramadol hydrochloride and acetaminophen tablets, USP contain 37.5 mg tramadol hydrochloride, USP and 325 mg acetaminophen, USP and are beige in color. Inactive ingredients in the tablets are carnauba wax, crospovidone, iron oxide black, iron oxide red, iron oxide yellow, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch, polyethylene glycol, polyvinyl alcohol, povidone, sodium starch glycolate, stearic acid, talc and titanium dioxide. "IndicationAndUsage": "Aripiprazole is an atypical antipsychotic. The oral formulation is indicated for: 1 Schizophrenia (14.1), 2 Irritability Associated with Autistic Disorder (14.4), 3 Treatment of Tourette's disorder (14.5).",
"Description": "Aripiprazole is an atypical antipsychotic drug that is available as tablets. Aripiprazole is 7-[4-[4-(2,3-dichlorophenyl)-1- piperazinyl]butoxy]-3,4-dihydrocarbostyril. The molecular formula is C23H27Cl2N3O2 and its molecular weight is 448.39. The chemical structure is. Each aripiprazole tablet intended for oral administration contains 2 mg or 5 mg or 10 mg or 15 mg or 20 mg or 30 mg of aripiprazole, USP. In addition, each tablet contains the following inactive ingredients: aspartame, calcium stearate, crospovidone and mannitol. Each tablet except 2 mg strength also contains flavor firmenich powder peppermint. FDA approved dissolution test specifications differ from USP."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Dasatinib tablets are indicated for the treatment of adult patients with: 1 newly diagnosed Philadelphia chromosome-positive (Ph+) chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) in chronic phase., 2 chronic, accelerated, or myeloid or lymphoid blast phase Ph+ CML with resistance or intolerance to prior therapy including imatinib., 3 Philadelphia chromosome-positive acute lymphoblastic leukemia (Ph+ ALL) with resistance or intolerance to prior therapy.",
"Description": "Dasatinib tablets are a kinase inhibitor. The chemical name for dasatinib is N-(2-chloro-6-methylphenyl)-2-[[6-[4-(2-hydroxyethyl)-1-piperazinyl]-2-methyl-4-pyrimidinyl]amino]-5-thiazolecarboxamide, monohydrate. The molecular formula is C22H26ClN7O2S H2O, which corresponds to a formula weight of 506.02 (monohydrate). The anhydrous free base has a molecular weight of 488.01. Dasatinib has the following chemical structure. Dasatinib is a white to off-white powder. The drug substance is soluble in N,N-dimethylformamide and insoluble in acetonitrile. Dasatinib tablets are white to off-white, biconvex, film-coated tablets containing dasatinib, administered orally, with the following inactive ingredients: anhydrous lactose, lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, hydroxypropyl cellulose and magnesium stearate. The tablet coating consists of polyvinyl alcohol, glycerol esters of fatty acids, talc, sodium lauryl sulfate and titanium dioxide."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Labetalol hydrochloride tablets, are indicated in the management of hypertension. Labetalol hydrochloride tablets may be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents, especially thiazide and loop diuretics.",
"Description": "Labetalol hydrochloride tablets, USP are an adrenergic receptor blocking agent that has both selective alpha1-adrenergic and nonselective beta-adrenergic receptor blocking actions in a single substance. Labetalol hydrochloride, USP is a racemate, chemically designated as 2-hydroxy-5-[1-hydroxy-2-[(1-methyl-3-phenylpropyl)amino]ethyl] benzamide monohydrochloride, and it has the following structure. Labetalol hydrochloride, USP has the molecular formula C19H24N2O3HCl and a molecular weight of 364.87. It has two asymmetric centers and therefore exists as a molecular complex of two diastereoisomeric pairs. Dilevalol, the R,R’ stereoisomer, makes up 25% of racemic labetalol. Labetalol hydrochloride, USP is a white to off-white powder, soluble in water and in alcohol. Insoluble in ether and in chloroform. Labetalol hydrochloride tablets, USP for oral administration, contains 100 mg, 200 mg or 300 mg of labetalol hydrochloride USP. In addition, each tablet contains the following inactive ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, corn starch, hydroxypropyl methyl cellulose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, opadry white, polysorbate, and sodium starch glycolate (potato). Opadry white contains hypromellose, polyethylene glycol, titanium dioxide, and talc."

Some loss of effect may occur during the course of clonazepam treatment (see PRECAUTIONS: Loss of Effect).",

"Description": "Clindamycin phosphate topical solution USP, 1% contains clindamycin phosphate, USP, at a concentration equivalent to 10 mg clindamycin per milliliter. Clindamycin phosphate is a water soluble ester of the semi-synthetic antibacterial produced by a 7(S)-chloro-substitution of the 7(R)-hydroxyl group of the parent compound lincomycin. The structural formula is represented below. The chemical name for clindamycin phosphate is Methyl 7-chloro-6,7,8-trideoxy-6-(1 methyl-trans-4-propyl-L-2-pyrrolidinecarboxamido)-1-thio-L-threo-α-D-galacto octopyranoside 2-(dihydrogen phosphate). Clindamycin phosphate topical solution USP, 1% contains isopropyl alcohol, 50% v/v; propylene glycol and purified water. Sodium hydroxide or hydrochloric acid may be added to adjust pH between 4.0 to 7.0."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Hypothyroidism. Levothyroxine sodium tablets are indicated in adult and pediatric patients, including neonates, as a replacement therapy in primary (thyroidal), secondary (pituitary), and tertiary (hypothalamic) congenital or acquired hypothyroidism. Pituitary Thyrotropin (Thyroid‑Stimulating Hormone, TSH) Suppression. Levothyroxine sodium tablets are indicated in adult and pediatric patients, including neonates, as an adjunct to surgery and radioiodine therapy in the management of thyrotropin-dependent well-differentiated thyroid cancer. Limitations of Use: 1 Levothyroxine sodium tablets are not indicated for suppression of benign thyroid nodules and nontoxic diffuse goiter in iodine-sufficient patients as there are no clinical benefits and overtreatment with levothyroxine sodium may induce hyperthyroidism [see Warnings and Precautions(5.1)]. , 2 Levothyroxine sodium tablets are not indicated for treatment of hypothyroidism during the recovery phase of subacute thyroiditis.",
"Description": "Levothyroxine sodium tablets, USP is L-thyroxine (T4) and contains synthetic crystalline L-3,3’,5,5’-tetraiodothyronine sodium salt. Synthetic T4 is chemically identical to that produced in the human thyroid gland. Levothyroxine (T4) sodium has an empirical formula of C 15H 10I 4N NaO 4 H 2O, molecular weight of 798.86 (anhydrous), and structural formula as shown:. Levothyroxine sodium tablets, USP for oral administration are supplied in the following strengths: 25 mcg, 50 mcg, 75 mcg, 88 mcg, 100 mcg, 112 mcg, 125 mcg, 137 mcg, 150 mcg, 175 mcg, 200 mcg, and 300 mcg. Each levothyroxine sodium tablet contains the inactive ingredients microcrystalline sodium, light magnesium oxide, sodium starch glycolate and sodium stearyl fumarate. Levothyroxine sodium tablets, USP contain no ingredients made from a gluten-containing grain (wheat, barley, or rye). Table 9 provides a listing of the color additives by tablet strength. Levothyroxine sodium tablets, USP meets USP Dissolution Test 7."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Levetiracetam tablets are indicated as adjunctive therapy in the treatment of partial onset seizures in adults and children 4 years of age and older with epilepsy.",
"Description": "Levetiracetam is an antiepileptic drug available as 250 mg (blue), 500 mg (yellow), 750 mg (orange), and 1000 mg (white) tablets. The chemical name of levetiracetam, USP, a single enantiomer, is (-)-(S)-α-ethyl-2-oxo-1-pyrrolidine acetamide, its molecular formula is C8H14N2O2 and its molecular weight is 170.21. Levetiracetam, USP is chemically unrelated to existing antiepileptic drugs (AEDs). It has the following structural formula. Levetiracetam, USP is a white to off-white crystalline powder with a faint odor and a bitter taste. It is very soluble in water (104.0 g/100 mL). It is freely soluble in chloroform (65.3 g/100 mL) and in methanol (53.6 g/100 mL), soluble in ethanol (16.5 g/100 mL), sparingly soluble in acetonitrile (5.7 g/100 mL) and practically insoluble in n-hexane. (Solubility limits are expressed as g/100 mL solvent.). Levetiracetam tablets contain the labeled amount of levetiracetam, USP. Inactive ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, corn starch, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, polyethylene glycol 400, povidone, sodium starch glycolate, talc, titanium dioxide, and additional agents listed below. 250 mg tablets: FD&C Blue # 2 Lake of indigo carmine. 500 mg tablets: Ferric oxide yellow. 750 mg tablets: Ferric oxide red and FD&C # 6 lake of sunset yellow."

"Description": "Acyclovir is a synthetic nucleoside analogue active against herpesviruses. Acyclovir capsules, USP and acyclovir tablets, USP are formulations for oral administration. Each capsule of acyclovir contains 200 mg of acyclovir, USP and the inactive ingredients lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, and pregelatinized starch. The capsule shell consists of black iron oxide, edible printing ink, gelatin, and titanium dioxide. Each 800 mg tablet of acyclovir contains 800 mg of acyclovir, USP and the inactive ingredients colloidal silicone dioxide, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch, and sodium starch glycolate. Each 400 mg tablet of acyclovir contains 400 mg of acyclovir, USP and the inactive ingredients colloidal silicone dioxide, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch, and sodium starch glycolate. Acyclovir, USP is a white crystalline powder with the molecular formula C8H11N5O3 and a molecular weight of 225. The maximum solubility in water at 37°C is 2.5 mg/mL. The pka’s of acyclovir are 2.27 and 9.25. The chemical name of acyclovir is 2-amino-1, 9-dihydro-9-[(2-hydroxyethoxy)methyl]-6H-purin-6-one; it has the following structural formula."

Baclofen is not indicated in the treatment of skeletal muscle spasm resulting from rheumatic disorders. The efficacy of baclofen in stroke, cerebral palsy, and Parkinson's disease has not been established and, therefore, it is not recommended for these conditions.",

"IndicationAndUsage": "Bupropion hydrochloride tablets are indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorder. A physician considering bupropion hydrochloride tablets for the management of a patient’s first episode of depression should be aware that the drug may cause generalized seizures in a dose-dependent manner with an approximate incidence of 0.4% (4/1,000). This incidence of seizures may exceed that of other marketed antidepressants by as much as 4-fold. This relative risk is only an approximate estimate because no direct comparative studies have been conducted (see WARNINGS). The efficacy of bupropion hydrochloride tablets has been established in 3 placebo-controlled trials, including 2 of approximately 3 weeks’ duration in depressed inpatients and one of approximately 6 weeks’ duration in depressed outpatients. The depressive disorder of the patients studied corresponds most closely to the Major Depression category of the APA Diagnostic and Statistical Manual III. Major Depression implies a prominent and relatively persistent depressed or dysphoric mood that usually interferes with daily functioning (nearly every day for at least 2 weeks); it should include at least 4 of the following 8 symptoms: change in appetite, change in sleep, psychomotor agitation or retardation, loss of interest in usual activities or decrease in sexual drive, increased fatigability, feelings of guilt or worthlessness, slowed thinking or impaired concentration, and suicidal ideation or attempts. Effectiveness of bupropion hydrochloride tablets in long-term use, that is, for more than 6 weeks, has not been systematically evaluated in controlled trials. Therefore, the physician who elects to use bupropion hydrochloride tablets for extended periods should periodically reevaluate the long-term usefulness of the drug for the individual patient.",
"Description": "Bupropion hydrochloride, an antidepressant of the aminoketone class, is chemically unrelated to tricyclic, tetracyclic, selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitor, or other known antidepressant agents. Its structure closely resembles that of diethylpropion; it is related to phenylethylamines. It is designated as (±)-1-(3-chlorophenyl)-2-[(1,1-dimethylethyl)amino]-1-propanone hydrochloride. The molecular weight is 276.2. The molecular formula is C13H18CINOHCI. Bupropion hydrochloride powder is white, crystalline, and highly soluble in water. It has a bitter taste and produces the sensation of local anesthesia on the oral mucosa. It has the following structural formula. Each bupropion hydrochloride tablet intended for oral administration contains 75 mg or 100 mg bupropion hydrochloride. In addition, each bupropion hydrochloride tablet contains the following inactive ingredients: FD&C Blue No. 2 aluminum lake, FD&C Red No. 40 aluminum lake, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, microcrystalline cellulose, potassium chloride, pregelatinized starch, stearic acid, titanium dioxide, and triethyl citrate."
