"IndicationAndUsage": "Verapamil hydrochloride extended-release tablets are indicated for the treatment of hypertension, to lower blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and myocardial infarctions. These benefits have been seen in controlled trials of antihypertensive drugs from a wide variety of pharmacologic classes including this drug. Control of high blood pressure should be part of comprehensive cardiovascular risk management, including, as appropriate, lipid control, diabetes management, antithrombotic therapy, smoking cessation, exercise, and limited sodium intake. Many patients will require more than one drug to achieve blood pressure goals. For specific advice on goals and management, see published guidelines, such as those of the National High Blood Pressure Education Program's Joint National Committee on Prevention, Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Pressure (JNC). Numerous antihypertensive drugs, from a variety of pharmacologic classes and with different mechanisms of action, have been shown in randomized controlled trials to reduce cardiovascular morbidity and mortality, and it can be concluded that it is blood pressure reduction, and not some other pharmacologic property of the drugs, that is largely responsible for those benefits. The largest and most consistent cardiovascular outcome benefit has been a reduction in the risk of stroke, but reductions in myocardial infarction and cardiovascular mortality also have been seen regularly. Elevated systolic or diastolic pressure causes increased cardiovascular risk, and the absolute risk increase per mmHg is greater at higher blood pressures, so that even modest reductions of severe hypertension can provide substantial benefit. Relative risk reduction from blood pressure reduction is similar across populations with varying absolute risk, so the absolute benefit is greater in patients who are at higher risk independent of their hypertension (for example, patients with diabetes or hyperlipidemia), and such patients would be expected to benefit from more aggressive treatment to a lower blood pressure goal. Some antihypertensive drugs have smaller blood pressure effects (as monotherapy) in black patients, and many antihypertensive drugs have additional approved indications and effects (e.g., on angina, heart failure, or diabetic kidney disease). These considerations may guide selection of therapy.",

<IndicationAndUsage>Verapamil hydrochloride extended-release tablets are indicated for the treatment of hypertension, to lower blood pressure. These considerations may guide selection of therapy.</IndicationAndUsage>

Verapamil hydrochloride extended-release tablets, USP (verapamil hydrochloride) is a calcium ion influx inhibitor (slow-channel blocker or calcium ion antagonist). Verapamil hydrochloride extended-release tablets, USP are available for oral administration as beige colored, biconvex, modified capsule shaped, scored, film-coated tablets containing 240 mg of verapamil hydrochloride (equivalent to 222.16 mg verapamil free base); as beige colored, oval shaped, biconvex, scored, film-coated tablets containing 180 mg of verapamil hydrochloride (equivalent to 166.62 mg verapamil free base); and as light beige colored, oval shaped, biconvex, film-coated tablets containing 120 mg of verapamil hydrochloride (equivalent to 111.08 mg verapamil free base). The tablets are designed for extended-release of the drug in the gastrointestinal tract; extended-release characteristics are not altered when the tablet is divided in half. The structural formula of verapamil HCl, USP is. C27H39ClN2O4 M.W = 491.06. Benzeneacetonitrile, α-[3-[[2-(3,4-dimethoxyphenyl)-ethyl]methylamino]propyl]-3,4-dimethoxy-α-(1-methylethyl) hydrochloride. Verapamil HCl, USP is white or practically white crystalline powder. Is practically odourless and has a bitter taste. It is soluble in water, freely soluble in chloroform, sparingly soluble in alcohol and practically insoluble in ether. Verapamil HCl, USP is not chemically related to other cardioactive drugs. Inactive ingredients include hypromellose, isopropyl alcohol, magnesium stearate, macrogol, microcrystalline cellulose 102, povidone, sodium alginate, talc, titanium dioxide and coloring agents: - iron oxide yellow and iron oxide red. FDA approved dissolution test specifications differ from USP.

<IndicationAndUsage>VITRASE is an endoglycosidase indicated as an adjuvant: 1 in subcutaneous fluid administration for achieving hydration. ( 1.1) , 2 for increasing the dispersion and absorption of other injected drugs. ( 1.2) , 3 for improving resorption of radiopaque agents, in subcutaneous urography. ( 1.3) .</IndicationAndUsage>

Hyaluronidase is an endoglycosidase. VITRASE is a preparation of purified ovine testicular hyaluronidase, a protein enzyme. Hyaluronidase is composed of two major glycosylated forms, α and β. The exact chemical structure of this enzyme is unknown. VITRASE (hyaluronidase injection) is supplied as a sterile, non-preserved, clear and colorless 1 mL solution in a single-dose vial for infiltration use, for interstitial use, for intramuscular use, for intraocular use, for peribulbar use, for retrobulbar use, for soft tissue use, or for subcutaneous use. Each mL contains 200 USP units of hyaluronidase with dibasic potassium phosphate (0.36 mg), lactose monohydrate (0.93 mg), monobasic potassium phosphate (0.23 mg), and sodium chloride (9 mg). The solution has a pH of 6.4 to 7.2.
