"IndicationAndUsage": "Theophylline is indicated for the treatment of the symptoms and reversible airflow obstruction associated with chronic asthma and other chronic lung diseases, e.g., emphysema and chronic bronchitis.",
"Description": "Theophylline (anhydrous) extended-release tablets in a controlled-release system allows a 24-hour dosing interval for appropriate patients. Theophylline, USP is structurally classified as a methylxanthine. It occurs as a white, odorless, crystalline powder with a bitter taste. Anhydrous theophylline has the chemical name 1H-Purine-2,6-dione,3,7-dihydro-1,3-dimethyl-, and is represented by the following structural formula. The molecular formula of anhydrous theophylline is C7H8N4O2 with a molecular weight of 180.17. Each extended-release tablet for oral administration, contains 400 mg or 600 mg of anhydrous theophylline. Inactive ingredients: glyceryl behenate, silicified microcrystalline cellulose, silicon dioxide, and magnesium stearate."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Sucralfate tablets are indicated in: 1 Short-term treatment (up to 8 weeks) of active duodenal ulcer. While healing with sucralfate may occur during the first week or two, treatment should be continued for 4 to 8 weeks unless healing has been demonstrated by x-ray or endoscopic examination., 2 Maintenance therapy for duodenal ulcer patients at reduced dosage after healing of acute ulcers.",
"Description": "Sucralfate is an α-D-glucopyranoside, β-D-fructofuranosyl-, octakis-(hydrogen sulfate), aluminum complex. It has the following structural formula. Tablets for oral administration contain 1 g of sucralfate, USP. Also contain: povidone, magnesium stearate, and colloidal silicon dioxide. Therapeutic category: antiulcer."

"Description": "Piroxicam Capsules, USP is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, available as Ivory opaque/Swedish orange opaque 10 mg capsules and Swedish orange opaque/Swedish orange opaque 20 mg capsules for oral administration. The chemical name is 4-hydroxyl-2-methyl-N-2-pyridinyl-2H-1,2,-benzothiazine-3-carboxamide 1,1-dioxide. The molecular weight is 331.35. Its molecular formula is C15H13N3O4S, and it has the following chemical structure. Piroxicam occurs as a white crystalline solid, sparingly soluble in water, dilute acid, and most organic solvents. It is slightly soluble in alcohol and in aqueous solutions. It exhibits a weakly acidic 4-hydroxy proton (pKa 5.1) and a weakly basic pyridyl nitrogen (pKa 1.8). The inactive ingredients in piroxicam capsules include: Hard gelatin capsules (which may contain FD&C Blue 1, FD&C Red 40, D&C Yellow 10, titanium dioxide and gelatin inactive ingredients), corn starch, lactose, magnesium stearate and sodium lauryl sulfate."

"Description": "Pindolol, a synthetic beta-adrenergic receptor blocking agent with intrinsic sympathomimetic activity is 1-(Indol-4-yloxy)-3- (isopropylamino)-2-propanol. C14H20N2O2 M.W. 248.32. Pindolol, USP is a white to off-white, crystalline powder having a faint odor which is practically insoluble in water; slightly soluble in methanol; and very slightly soluble in chloroform.Each tablet for oral administration contains pindolol and the following inactive ingredients: corn starch, lactose monohydrate, pregelatinized corn starch, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, sodium starch glycolate and microcrystalline cellulose."

"IndicationAndUsage": "For adjunctive treatment of: chronic simple (open-angle) glaucoma, secondary glaucoma, and preoperatively in acute angle- closure glaucoma where delay of surgery is desired in order to lower intraocular pressure. Acetazolamide extended-release capsules are also indicated for the prevention or amelioration of symptoms associated with acute mountain sickness despite gradual ascent.",
"Description": "Acetazolamide extended-release capsules are an inhibitor of the enzyme carbonic anhydrase. Acetazolamide, USP is a white to faintly yellowish white crystalline, odorless powder, weakly acidic, very slightly soluble in water, and slightly soluble in alcohol. The chemical name for Acetazolamide is N-(5-Sulfamoyl-1,3, 4-thiadiazol-2-yl) acetamide and has the following chemical structure. MW 222.24 C4H6N4O3S2. Acetazolamide extended-release capsules are for oral administration, each containing 500 mg of acetazolamide and the following inactive ingredients. Silicified microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose, oleic acid,ethylcellulose, medium chain triglycerides, ammonium hydroxide and talc. The ingredients in the capsule shell are yellow iron oxide, gelatin and titanium dioxide. The ingredients in the imprinting ink are black iron oxide, D&C yellow # 10 aluminum lake, FD&C blue # 1/brilliant blue FCF aluminum lake, FD&C blue # 2 /indigo carmine aluminum lake, FD&C red # 40/allura red AC aluminum lake, propylene glycol and shellac glaze."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Dermatitis herpetiformis: (D.H.). Leprosy: All forms of leprosy except for cases of proven Dapsone resistance.",
"Description": "Dapsone USP, 4,4’-diaminodiphenylsulfone (DDS), is a primary treatment for Dermatitis herpetiformis. It is an antibacterial drug for susceptible cases of leprosy. It is a white, odorless crystalline powder, practically in-soluble in water and insoluble in fixed and vegetable oils. Dapsone is issued on prescription in tablets of 25 and 100 mg for oral use. Inactive Ingredients: Croscarmellose sodium, magnesium stearate and silicified microcrystalline cellulose."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets are indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.",
"Description": "Metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets, USP contain the antihyperglycemic agent metformin, which is a biguanide, in the form of monohydrochloride. The chemical name of metformin hydrochloride is N,N-dimethylimidodicarbonimidic diamide hydrochloride. The structural formula is as shown below:. Metformin hydrochloride is a white to off-white crystalline compound with a molecular formula of C4H11N5 HCl and a molecular weight of 165.63. It is freely soluble in water and is practically insoluble in acetone, ether, and chloroform. The pKa of metformin is 12.4. The pH of a 1% aqueous solution of metformin hydrochloride is 6.68. Metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets, USP contain 500 mg or 750 mg of metformin hydrochloride as the active ingredient. Each tablet contains the inactive ingredients hypromellose, silicified microcrystalline cellulose, xanthan gum, maltodextrin, colloidal silicon dioxide and stearic acid."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets are indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.",
"Description": "Metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets, USP contain the antihyperglycemic agent metformin, which is a biguanide, in the form of monohydrochloride. The chemical name of metformin hydrochloride is N,N-dimethylimidodicarbonimidic diamide hydrochloride. The structural formula is as shown below:. Metformin hydrochloride is a white to off-white crystalline compound with a molecular formula of C4H11N5 HCl and a molecular weight of 165.63. It is freely soluble in water and is practically insoluble in acetone, ether, and chloroform. The pKa of metformin is 12.4. The pH of a 1% aqueous solution of metformin hydrochloride is 6.68. Metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets, USP contain 500 mg or 750 mg of metformin hydrochloride as the active ingredient. Each tablet contains the inactive ingredients hypromellose, silicified microcrystalline cellulose, xanthan gum, maltodextrin, colloidal silicon dioxide and stearic acid."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Carisoprodol tablets are indicated for the relief of discomfort associated with acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions in adults. Limitation of Use. Carisoprodol tablets should only be used for short periods (up to two or three weeks) because adequate evidence of effectiveness for more prolonged use has not been established and because acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions are generally of short duration [see Dosage and Administration (2)].",
"Description": "Carisoprodol tablets, USP are available as 250 mg and 350 mg round, white to off-white tablets. Carisoprodol is a white, crystalline powder, having a mild, characteristic odor and a bitter taste. It is slightly soluble in water; freely soluble in alcohol, in chloroform, and in acetone; and its solubility is practically independent of pH. Carisoprodol is present as a racemic mixture. Chemically, carisoprodol is (±)-2-Methyl-2-propyl-1,3-propanediol carbamate isopropylcarbamate and the molecular formula is C12H24N2O4, with a molecular weight of 260.33. The structural formula is. Other ingredients in the carisoprodol tablets drug product include colloidal silicon dioxide, croscarmellose sodium, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, silicified microcrystalline cellulose and sodium lauryl sulphate."

Evidence supporting the efficacy and safety of Butalbital, Aspirin, and Caffeine Capsules in the treatment of multiple recurrent headaches is unavailable. Caution in this regard is required because butalbital is habit-forming and potentially abusable.",
