"Description": "Cephalexin capsules, USP are a semisynthetic cephalosporin antibiotic intended for oral administration. It is 7-(D-α-Amino-α-phenylacetamido)-3-methyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid monohydrate. Cephalexin has the molecular formula C16H17N3O4SH2O and the molecular weight is 365.41. Cephalexin has the following structural formula. The nucleus of cephalexin is related to that of other cephalosporin antibiotics. The compound is a zwitterion; ie, the molecule contains both a basic and an acidic group. The isoelectric point of cephalexin in water is approximately 4.5 to 5. The crystalline form of cephalexin which is available is a monohydrate. It is a white crystalline solid having a bitter taste. Solubility in water is low at room temperature; 1 or 2 mg/mL may be dissolved readily, but higher concentrations are obtained with increasing difficulty. The cephalosporins differ from penicillins in the structure of the bicyclic ring system. Cephalexin has a D-phenylglycyl group as substituent at the 7-amino position and an unsubstituted methyl group at the 3-position. Each capsule contains cephalexin monohydrate equivalent to 250 mg (720 μmol) or 500 mg (1,439 μmol) of cephalexin. The capsules also contain colloidal silicon dioxide, D & C Yellow No. 10, FD & C Blue No. 2, gelatin, magnesium stearate, sodium starch glycolate, and titanium dioxide."

Azithromycin for injection, USP contains the active ingredient azithromycin, an azalide, a subclass of macrolide antibacterial drug, for intravenous injection. Azithromycin has the chemical name (2R,3S,4R,5R,8R,10R,11R,12S,13S,14R)-13-[(2,6-dideoxy-3- C-methyl-3- O-methyl-α- L-ribo-hexopyranosyl)oxy]-2-ethyl-3,4,10-trihydroxy-3,5,6,8,10,12,14-heptamethyl-11-[[3,4,6-trideoxy-3-(dimethylamino)-β- D- xylo-hexopyranosyl]oxy]-1-oxa-6-azacyclopentadecan-15-one. Azithromycin is derived from erythromycin; however, it differs chemically from erythromycin in that a methyl-substituted nitrogen atom is incorporated into the lactone ring. Its molecular formula is C 38 H 72 N 2 O 12, and its molecular weight is 749.00. Azithromycin has the following structural formula:. Azithromycin, as the monohydrate or dihydrate, is a white crystalline powder with a molecular formula of C 38H 72N 2O 12H 2O or C 38H 72N 2O 122H 2O and a molecular weight of 767.00 or 785.02 respectively. Azithromycin for injection, USP consists of azithromycin monohydrate or dihydrate and the following inactive ingredients: citric acid and sodium hydroxide. Azithromycin for injection, USP is supplied in lyophilized form in a 10 mL vial equivalent to 500 mg of azithromycin for intravenous administration. Reconstitution, according to label directions, results in approximately 5 mL of azithromycin for intravenous injection with each mL containing azithromycin monohydrate or dihydrate equivalent to 100 mg of azithromycin.

<IndicationAndUsage>Anesthesia. Glycopyrrolate Injection is indicated for use as a preoperative antimuscarinic to reduce salivary, tracheobronchial, and pharyngeal secretions; to reduce the volume and free acidity of gastric secretions; and to block cardiac vagal inhibitory reflexes during induction of anesthesia and intubation. When indicated, Glycopyrrolate Injection may be used intraoperatively to counteract surgically or drug induced or vagal reflexes associated arrhythmias. Glycopyrrolate protects against the peripheral muscarinic effects (e.g., bradycardia and excessive secretions) of cholinergic agents such as neostigmine and pyridostigmine given to reverse the neuromuscular blockade due to non-depolarizing muscle relaxants. Peptic Ulcer. For use in adults as adjunctive therapy for the treatment of peptic ulcer when rapid anticholinergic effect is desired or when oral medication is not tolerated.</IndicationAndUsage>

Glycopyrrolate Injection, USP is a synthetic anticholinergic agent. Each 1 mL contains: Glycopyrrolate, 0.2 mg; water for injection, q.s.; benzyl alcohol, 0.9% (preservative); pH adjusted, when necessary, with hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide.Glycopyrrolate is a quaternary ammonium salt with the following chemical name: 3[(cyclopentylhydroxyphenylacetyl)oxy]-1,1-dimethyl pyrrolidinium bromide. Its structural formula is as follows: C19H28BrNO3 M.W. 398.33Glycopyrrolate occurs as a white, odorless crystalline powder. It is soluble in water and alcohol, and practically insoluble in chloroform and ether. Unlike atropine, glycopyrrolate is completely ionized at physiological pH values. Glycopyrrolate Injection, USP is a clear, colorless, sterile liquid; pH 2.0 to 3.0. The partition coefficient of glycopyrrolate in a n-octanol /water system is 0.304 (log10 P= -1.52) at ambient room temperature (24°C).

<IndicationAndUsage>Cephalexin capsules, USP are indicated for the treatment of the following infections when caused by susceptible strains of the designated microorganisms: 1 Respiratory tract infections caused by Streptococcus pneumoniae and Streptococcus pyogenes (Penicillin is the usual drug of choice in the treatment and prevention of streptococcal infections, including the prophylaxis of rheumatic fever. Cephalexin capsules, USP are generally effective in the eradication of streptococci from the nasopharynx; however, substantial data establishing the efficacy of cephalexin capsules, USP in the subsequent prevention of rheumatic fever are not available at present.) , 2 Otitis media due to Streptococcus pneumoniae, Haemophilus influenzae, Staphyloccus aureus, Streptococcus pyogenes, and Moraxella catarrhalis, 3 Skin and skin structure infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus and/or Streptococcus pyogenes , 4 Bone infections caused by Staphylococcus aureus and/or Proteus mirabilis, 5 Genitourinary tract infections, including acute prostatitis, caused by Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, and Klebsiella pneumoniae.</IndicationAndUsage>

Cephalexin capsules, USP are a semisynthetic cephalosporin antibiotic intended for oral administration. 2, gelatin, magnesium stearate, sodium starch glycolate, and titanium dioxide.
