Acetylcysteine has the following structural formula:. Acetylcysteine Injection is supplied as a sterile solution in vials containing 20% w/v (200 mg per mL) acetylcysteine. The pH of the solution ranges from 6.0 to 7.5. Acetylcysteine Injection contains the following inactive ingredients: 0.5 mg per mL disodium edetate, sodium hydroxide (used for pH adjustment), and Water for Injection, USP. The amount of sodium in Acetylcysteine Injection is approximately 30 mg per mL. Because Acetylcysteine Injection is administered based on a patient's weight, the amount of sodium administered in a course of treatment will vary from approximately 225 mg to 4,500 mg. The use of ½ normal saline will contribute approximately an additional 1,770 mg of sodium per liter of diluent."

<IndicationAndUsage>Acetylcysteine Injection is indicated to prevent or lessen hepatic injury after ingestion of a potentially hepatotoxic quantity of acetaminophen in adults and pediatric patients who weigh 5 kg or greater with acute ingestion or from repeated supratherapeutic ingestion (RSI).</IndicationAndUsage>

Acetylcysteine Injection is an intravenous antidote for the treatment of acetaminophen overdose. Acetylcysteine is the nonproprietary name for the N-acetyl derivative of the naturally occurring amino acid, L-cysteine (N-acetyl-L-cysteine,). The compound is a white crystalline powder, which melts in the range of 104° to 110°C and has a very slight odor. The molecular formula of the compound is C5H9NO3S, and its molecular weight is 163.2. The use of ½ normal saline will contribute approximately an additional 1,770 mg of sodium per liter of diluent.

<IndicationAndUsage>Morphine Sulfate Oral Solution is indicated for the management of acute and chronic pain severe enough to require an opioid analgesic and for which alternative treatments are inadequate. Morphine Sulfate Oral Solution 100 mg per 5 mL (20 mg/mL) is indicated for the relief of acute and chronic pain in opioid-tolerant patients. Limitations of Use. Because of the risks of addiction, abuse, and misuse with opioids, even at recommended doses [see Warnings and Precautions (5.2)], reserve Morphine Sulfate Oral Solution for use in patients for whom alternative treatment options [e.g., non-opioid analgesics or opioid combination products]. : 1 Have not been tolerated, or are not expected to be tolerated,, 2 Have not provided adequate analgesia, or are not expected to provide adequate analgesia.</IndicationAndUsage>

Morphine Sulfate Oral Solution is an opioid agonist, available in 10 mg per 5 mL (2 mg/mL), 20 mg per 5 mL (4 mg/mL), and 100 mg per 5 mL (20 mg/mL) strengths for oral administration. The chemical name is 7,8-didehydro-4,5 alpha-epoxy-17 methyl-morphinan-3,6 alpha-diol sulfate (2:1) (salt) pentahydrate. The molecular weight is 758.83. Its molecular formula is (C17H21NO3)2∙H2SO4∙5H20, and it has the following chemical structure. Morphine sulfate USP is a white to off-white crystalline powder or a fine white to light yellow powder. It is soluble in water and slightly soluble in alcohol, but is practically insoluble in chloroform or ether. The octanol:water partition coefficient of morphine is 1.42 at physiologic pH and the pKa is 7.9 for the tertiary nitrogen (the majority is ionized at pH 7.4). For the 10 mg per 5 mL (2 mg/mL) strength: Each 5 mL of oral solution contains 10 mg of morphine sulfate, USP and the following inactive ingredients: water, sorbitol solution, glycerin, anhydrous citric acid, sodium benzoate, white chocolate flavor, edetate disodium, FD&C Red No. 40 and if necessary, sodium hydroxide, and/or hydrochloric acid to adjust pH. For the 20 mg per 5 mL (4 mg/mL) strength: Each 5 mL of oral solution contains 20 mg of morphine sulfate, USP and the following inactive ingredients: water, sorbitol solution, glycerin, anhydrous citric acid, methylparaben, propylparaben, sodium benzoate, white chocolate flavor, edetate disodium, FD&C Red No. 40 and if necessary, sodium hydroxide, and/or hydrochloric acid to adjust pH. For the 100 mg per 5 mL (20 mg/mL) strength: Each 5 mL of oral solution contains 100 mg of morphine sulfate, USP and the following inactive ingredients: water, sorbitol solution, glycerin, anhydrous citric acid, sodium benzoate, edetate disodium and if necessary, sodium hydroxide, and/or hydrochloric acid to adjust pH.
