"Description": "Phentermine and topiramate extended-release capsules are comprised of immediate-release phentermine hydrochloride (expressed as the weight of the free base) and extended-release topiramate. Phentermine and topiramate extended-release capsules contain phentermine hydrochloride USP, a sympathomimetic amine anorectic, and topiramate USP, a sulfamate-substituted monosaccharide. Phentermine Hydrochloride, USP. The chemical name of phentermine hydrochloride, USP is α,α-dimethylphenethylamine hydrochloride. The molecular formula is C10H15N HCl and its molecular weight is 185.7 (hydrochloride salt) or 149.2 (free base). Phentermine hydrochloride, USP is a white, odorless, hygroscopic, crystalline powder that is soluble in water, methanol, and ethanol. Its structural formula is. Topiramate, USP. Topiramate, USP is 2,3:4,5-di-O-isopropylidene-β-D-fructopyranose sulfamate. The molecular formula is C12H21NO8S and its molecular weight is 339.4. Topiramate, USP is a white to off-white crystalline powder with a bitter taste. It is freely soluble in methanol and acetone, sparingly soluble in pH 9 to pH 12 aqueous solutions and slightly soluble in pH 1 to pH 8 aqueous solutions. Its structural formula is. Phentermine and topiramate extended-release capsules are for oral administration and available in four dosage strengths: 1 3.75 mg/23 mg (phentermine 3.75 mg and topiramate 23 mg extended-release) (equivalent to 4.67 mg of phentermine hydrochloride, USP)., 2 7.5 mg/46 mg (phentermine 7.5 mg and topiramate 46 mg extended-release) (equivalent to 9.33 mg of phentermine hydrochloride, USP)., 3 11.25 mg/69 mg (phentermine 11.25 mg and topiramate 69 mg extended-release) (equivalent to 14.0 mg of phentermine hydrochloride, USP)., 4 15 mg/92 mg (phentermine 15 mg and topiramate 92 mg extended-release) (equivalent to 18.66 mg of phentermine hydrochloride, USP)."

Topiramate is a white crystalline powder with a bitter taste. Topiramate USP is most soluble in alkaline solutions containing sodium hydroxide or sodium phosphate and having a pH of 9 to 10. It is freely soluble in acetone, chloroform, dimethylsulfoxide, and ethanol. The solubility in water is 9.8 mg/mL. Its saturated solution has a pH of 6.3. Topiramate has the molecular formula C 12H 21NO 8S and a molecular weight of 339.37. Topiramate is designated chemically as 2,3:4,5-Di- O-isopropylidene-β-D-fructopyranose sulfamate and has the following structural formula:. Topiramate tablets, USP contain the following inactive ingredients: anhydrous lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized maize starch, sodium starch glycolate type A potato, magnesium stearate, polyvinyl alcohol, titanium dioxide, polyethylene glycol and talc. In addition, individual tablets contain:. 50 mg tablets: iron oxide yellow. 100 mg tablets: iron oxide yellow, and D&C Yellow # 10 Aluminum Lake. 200 mg tablets: iron oxide red, lecithin (soya), and iron oxide black."

"Description": "Phentermine and topiramate extended-release capsules are comprised of immediate-release phentermine hydrochloride (expressed as the weight of the free base) and extended-release topiramate. Phentermine and topiramate extended-release capsules contain phentermine hydrochloride, a sympathomimetic amine anorectic, and topiramate, a sulfamate-substituted monosaccharide. Phentermine Hydrochloride. The chemical name of phentermine hydrochloride is α,α-dimethylphenethylamine hydrochloride. The molecular formula is C 10H 15N HCl and its molecular weight is 185.7 (hydrochloride salt) or 149.2 (free base). Phentermine hydrochloride is a white, odorless, hygroscopic, crystalline powder that is soluble in water, methanol, and ethanol. Its structural formula is:. Topiramate. Topiramate is 2,3:4,5-di-O-isopropylidene-β-D-fructopyranose sulfamate. The molecular formula is C 12H 21NO 8S and its molecular weight is 339.4. Topiramate is a white to off-white crystalline powder with a bitter taste. It is freely soluble in methanol and acetone, sparingly soluble in pH 9 to pH 12 aqueous solutions and slightly soluble in pH 1 to pH 8 aqueous solutions. Its structural formula is:. "IndicationAndUsage": "Phenylephrine hydrochloride injection, 10 mg/mL, is an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist indicated for the treatment of clinically important hypotension resulting primarily from vasodilation in the setting of anesthesia.",
"Description": "Phenylephrine is an alpha-1 adrenergic receptor agonist. Phenylephrine hydrochloride injection USP, 10 mg/mL, is a clear, colorless, sterile, nonpyrogenic solution for intravenous use. It must be diluted before administration as an intravenous bolus or continuous intravenous infusion. The chemical name of phenylephrine hydrochloride is (-)-m-hydroxy-α-[(methylamino)methyl]benzyl alcohol hydrochloride, and is chemically designated as C9H14ClNO2 with a molecular weight of 203.66 g/mol. Its structural formula is depicted below. Phenylephrine hydrochloride is soluble in water and ethanol, and insoluble in chloroform and ethyl ether. phenylephrine hydrochloride injection USP, 10 mg/mL, is sensitive to light. Each mL contains: phenylephrine hydrochloride 10 mg, sodium chloride 3.5 mg, sodium citrate dihydrate 4 mg, citric acid monohydrate 1 mg, and sodium metabisulfite 2 mg in water for injection. The pH is adjusted with sodium hydroxide and/or hydrochloric acid if necessary. The pH range is 3.5-5.5."
