"IndicationAndUsage": "Ampicillin for Injection, USP is indicated in the treatment of infections caused by susceptible strains of the designated organisms in the following conditions:. Respiratory Tract Infections caused by S. pneumoniae, Staphylococcus aureus (penicillinase and non-penicillinase producing), H. influenzae and Group A beta-hemolytic Streptococci. Bacterial Meningitis caused by E. coli, Group B Streptococci, and other Gram-negative bacteria (Listeria monocytogenes, N. meningitidis). The addition of an aminoglycoside with ampicillin may increase its effectiveness against Gram-negative bacteria. Septicemia and Endocarditis caused by susceptible Gram-positive organisms including Streptococcus spp., penicillin-G-susceptible staphylococci and enterococci. Gram-negative sepsis caused by E. coli, Proteus mirabilis and Salmonella spp. responds to ampicillin. Endocarditis due to enterococcal strains usually respond to intravenous therapy. The addition of an aminoglycoside may enhance the effectiveness of ampicillin when treating streptococcal endocarditis. Urinary Tract Infections caused by sensitive strains of E. coli and Proteus mirabilis. Gastrointestinal Infections caused by Salmonella typhi (typhoid fever), other Salmonella spp. and Shigella spp. (dysentery) usually respond to oral or intravenous therapy. Bacteriology studies to determine the causative organisms and their susceptibility to ampicillin should be performed. Therapy may be instituted prior to obtaining results of susceptibility testing. It is advisable to reserve the parenteral form of this drug for moderately severe and severe infections and for patients who are unable to take the oral forms. A change to oral ampicillin may be made as soon as appropriate. Indicated surgical procedures should be performed. To reduce the development of drug-resistant bacteria and maintain the effectiveness of Ampicillin for Injection, USP and other antibacterial drugs, Ampicillin for Injection, USP should be used only to treat or prevent infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by susceptible bacteria. When culture and susceptibility information are available, they should be considered in selecting or modifying antibacterial therapy. In the absence of such data, local epidemiology and susceptibility patterns may contribute to the empiric selection of therapy.",
"Description": "Ampicillin for Injection, USP the monosodium salt of [2S-[2a, 5a, 6b(S*)]]-6- [(aminophenylacetyl)amino]-3,3-dimethyl-7-oxo-4-thia-1-azabicyclo [3.2.0]heptane-2-carboxylic acid, is a synthetic penicillin. It is an antibacterial agent with a broad spectrum of bactericidal activity against both penicillin-susceptible Gram-positive organisms and many common Gram-negative pathogens. Ampicillin for Injection, USP is a dry, white to off-white powder. The reconstituted solution is clear, colorless and free from visible particulates. It has the following chemical structure. The molecular formula is C16H18N3NaO4S, and the molecular weight is 371.39. The pH range of the reconstituted solution is 8.0 to 10.0. Ampicillin for Injection, USP contains 65.8 mg [2.9 mEq] sodium per gram ampicillin. Ampicillin for Injection, USP is supplied in vials equivalent to 125 mg, 250 mg, 500 mg, 1 gram or 2 grams of ampicillin. It is to be administered by intravenous or intramuscular routes."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Fluzone® High-Dose is a vaccine indicated for active immunization for the prevention of disease caused by influenza A subtype viruses and type B virus contained in the vaccine. Fluzone High-Dose is approved for use in persons 65 years of age and older.",
"Description": "Fluzone High-Dose (Influenza Vaccine) for intramuscular use is an inactivated influenza vaccine, prepared from influenza viruses propagated in embryonated chicken eggs. The virus-containing allantoic fluid is harvested and inactivated with formaldehyde. Influenza virus is concentrated and purified in a linear sucrose density gradient solution using a continuous flow centrifuge. The virus is then chemically disrupted using a non-ionic surfactant, octylphenol ethoxylate (Triton® X-100), producing a \"split virus\". The split virus containing hemagglutinin (HA) antigen is further purified and then suspended in sodium phosphate-buffered isotonic sodium chloride solution. The Fluzone High-Dose process uses an additional concentration factor after the ultrafiltration step to obtain a higher HA antigen concentration. The purified split virus from the three strains included in the vaccine are produced separately and then combined to make the trivalent formulation. Fluzone High-Dose is an injectable suspension and is a colorless opalescent liquid. Neither antibiotics nor preservative are used in the manufacture of Fluzone High-Dose. The Fluzone High-Dose prefilled syringe presentation is not made with natural rubber latex. Fluzone High-Dose is formulated to contain HA of each of the following three influenza strains recommended for the 2026-2027 influenza season: A/Switzerland/6849/2025 IVR-278 (A/Missouri/11/2025 pdm09-like virus) (H1N1), A/Michigan/105/2025 SAN-049A (A/Darwin/1454/2025-like virus) (H3N2), and B/Tokyo/EIS13-175/2025 (B Victoria lineage). These three influenza virus strains are recommended by FDA for the 2026-2027 influenza season. The amounts of HA and other ingredients per dose of vaccine are listed in Table 2."

<IndicationAndUsage>Ampicillin for Injection, USP is indicated in the treatment of infections caused by susceptible strains of the designated organisms in the following conditions:. In the absence of such data, local epidemiology and susceptibility patterns may contribute to the empiric selection of therapy.</IndicationAndUsage>

<IndicationAndUsage>Fluzone® High-Dose is a vaccine indicated for active immunization for the prevention of disease caused by influenza A subtype viruses and type B virus contained in the vaccine. Fluzone High-Dose is approved for use in persons 65 years of age and older.</IndicationAndUsage>
<Description>Fluzone High-Dose (Influenza Vaccine) for intramuscular use is an inactivated influenza vaccine, prepared from influenza viruses propagated in embryonated chicken eggs. The virus-containing allantoic fluid is harvested and inactivated with formaldehyde. Influenza virus is concentrated and purified in a linear sucrose density gradient solution using a continuous flow centrifuge. The virus is then chemically disrupted using a non-ionic surfactant, octylphenol ethoxylate (Triton® X-100), producing a "split virus". The amounts of HA and other ingredients per dose of vaccine are listed in Table 2.</Description>
