"IndicationAndUsage": "RECOTHROM ®, Thrombin topical (Recombinant), is a topical thrombin indicated to aid hemostasis whenever oozing blood and minor bleeding from capillaries and small venules is accessible and control of bleeding by standard surgical techniques (such as suture, ligature, or cautery) is ineffective or impractical in adults and pediatric populations greater than or equal to one month of age. RECOTHROM may be used in conjunction with an absorbable gelatin sponge, USP.",
"Description": "RECOTHROM, Thrombin topical (Recombinant), is a human coagulation protein produced via recombinant DNA technology from a genetically modified CHO cell line. RECOTHROM is identical in amino acid sequence and structurally similar to naturally occurring human thrombin. RECOTHROM precursor is secreted to culture medium as single chain form that is proteolytically converted to a two-chain active form (using a protein derived from snakes) and is purified by a chromatographic process that yields a product having hemostatic activities similar to native human thrombin. The cell line used to manufacture RECOTHROM has been tested and shown to be free of known infectious agents. The cell culture process used in the manufacture of RECOTHROM employs no additives of human or animal origin. The purification process includes solvent-detergent treatment and nano-filtration steps dedicated to viral clearance. RECOTHROM is provided as a sterile, white to off-white, preservative-free, lyophilized powder in vials for reconstitution with diluent (sterile 0.9% sodium chloride, USP). Reconstitution with the provided diluent, as described [see Dosage and Administration (2.1)], yields a solution with a pH of 6.0 containing 1000 units/mL of recombinant thrombin for topical use. The formulated product is a clear, colorless solution upon reconstitution and contains the following excipients: histidine, mannitol, sucrose, polyethylene glycol 3350, sodium chloride, and calcium chloride dihydrate, USP."

<IndicationAndUsage>RECOTHROM ®, Thrombin topical (Recombinant), is a topical thrombin indicated to aid hemostasis whenever oozing blood and minor bleeding from capillaries and small venules is accessible and control of bleeding by standard surgical techniques (such as suture, ligature, or cautery) is ineffective or impractical in adults and pediatric populations greater than or equal to one month of age. RECOTHROM may be used in conjunction with an absorbable gelatin sponge, USP.</IndicationAndUsage>

RECOTHROM, Thrombin topical (Recombinant), is a human coagulation protein produced via recombinant DNA technology from a genetically modified CHO cell line. The formulated product is a clear, colorless solution upon reconstitution and contains the following excipients: histidine, mannitol, sucrose, polyethylene glycol 3350, sodium chloride, and calcium chloride dihydrate, USP.

Cephalexin, USP is a semisynthetic cephalosporin antibiotic drug intended for oral administration. It is 7-(D-α-amino-α-phenylacetamido)-3-methyl-3-cephem-4-carboxylic acid monohydrate. Cephalexin, USP has the following structural formula. C16H17N3O4SH2O M.W. 365.41. The nucleus of cephalexin, USP is related to that of other cephalosporin antibiotics. The compound is a zwitterion; i.e., the molecule contains both a basic and an acidic group. The isoelectric point of cephalexin, USP in water is approximately 4.5 to 5. The crystalline form of cephalexin, USP which is available is a monohydrate. It is a white crystalline solid having a bitter taste. Solubility in water is low at room temperature; 1 or 2 mg/mL may be dissolved readily, but higher concentrations are obtained with increasing difficulty. The cephalosporins differ from penicillins in the structure of the bicyclic ring system. Cephalexin, USP has a D-phenylglycyl group as substituent at the 7-amino position and an unsubstituted methyl group at the 3-position. Each capsule contains cephalexin monohydrate, USP equivalent to 250 mg (720 μmol) or 500 mg (1,439 μmol) of cephalexin. Each capsule also contains the following inactive ingredients: magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide, and sodium starch glycolate. The capsule shell contains FD&C Blue No.1, FD&C Red No. 40, gelatin, titanium dioxide. In addition, the 250 mg capsule shell contains black iron oxide and yellow iron oxide and 500 mg capsule shell contains methylparaben, propylparaben and sodium lauryl sulfate. The imprinting ink contains black iron oxide, propylene glycol, shellac. In addition 250 mg capsule imprinting ink contains D&C Yellow No. 10 Aluminum Lake, FD&C Blue No. 1 Aluminum Lake, FD&C Blue No. 2 Aluminum Lake, FD&C Red No. 40 Aluminum Lake and 500 mg capsule imprinting ink contains ammonium hydroxide.
