The outlet port chamber contains essential and nonessential amino acids. The formulas for the individual amino acids found in CLINIMIX sulfite-free (amino acids in dextrose) injections are provided in Table 8. The injection port chamber contains dextrose. Dextrose, USP, is chemically designated D-glucose, monohydrate (C6H12O6 H2O) and has the following structure. Dextrose is derived from corn. See Table 7 for composition, pH, osmolarity, ionic concentration and caloric content of the admixed product [see Dosage Forms and Strengths (3)]. The dual chamber container is a lipid-compatible plastic container (PL 2401 Plastic). CLINIMIX contains no more than 25 mcg/L of aluminum."

Prevention of nausea and vomiting associated with initial and repeat courses of moderately emetogenic cancer chemotherapy. . Prevention of nausea and vomiting associated with radiotherapy in patients receiving either total body irradiation, single high-dose fraction to the abdomen, or daily fractions to the abdomen. . Prevention of postoperative nausea and/or vomiting. As with other antiemetics, routine prophylaxis is not recommended for patients in whom there is little expectation that nausea and/or vomiting will occur postoperatively. In patients where nausea and/or vomiting must be avoided postoperatively, ondansetron tablets, USP are recommended even where the incidence of postoperative nausea and/or vomiting is low.",
"Description": "The active ingredient in ondansetron tablets, USP is ondansetron hydrochloride (HCl) as the dihydrate, the racemic form of ondansetron and a selective blocking agent of the serotonin 5-HT 3 receptor type. Chemically it is (±) 1, 2, 3, 9-tetrahydro-9-methyl-3-[(2-methyl-1H-imidazol-1-yl)methyl]-4H-carbazol-4-one, monohydrochloride, dihydrate. It has the following structural formula:. The molecular formula is C 18H 19N 3OHCl2H 2O, representing a molecular weight of 365.9. Ondansetron hydrochloride USP (dihydrate) is a white to off-white powder that is soluble in water and normal saline. Ondansetron tablets, USP for oral administration contain ondansetron hydrochloride USP (dihydrate) equivalent to 4 mg or 8 mg or 24 mg of ondansetron. Each film-coated tablet also contains the inactive ingredients anhydrous lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch (maize), magnesium stearate, triacetin, titanium dioxide and hypromellose. In addition 8 mg tablet also contains iron oxide yellow and 24 mg tablet also contains iron oxide red. Meets USP dissolution test 6."

<IndicationAndUsage>CLINIMIX E is indicated as a source of calories, protein, and electrolytes for patients requiring parenteral nutrition when oral or enteral nutrition is not possible, insufficient, or contraindicated. CLINIMIX E may be used to treat negative nitrogen balance in patients.</IndicationAndUsage>

CLINIMIX E sulfite-free (amino acids with electrolytes in dextrose with calcium) injection for intravenous use consists of sterile, nonpyrogenic, hypertonic solutions in a dual chamber container. The outlet port chamber contains essential and nonessential amino acids with electrolytes. The formulas for the individual electrolytes and amino acids are provided in Table 8. The injection port chamber contains dextrose with calcium. The formula for Calcium Chloride is: CaCl22H2O. CLINIMIX E contains no more than 25 mcg/L of aluminum.

<IndicationAndUsage>Prevention of nausea and vomiting associated with highly emetogenic cancer chemotherapy, including cisplatin ≥50 mg/m 2. . In patients where nausea and/or vomiting must be avoided postoperatively, ondansetron tablets, USP are recommended even where the incidence of postoperative nausea and/or vomiting is low.</IndicationAndUsage>

The active ingredient in ondansetron tablets, USP is ondansetron hydrochloride (HCl) as the dihydrate, the racemic form of ondansetron and a selective blocking agent of the serotonin 5-HT 3 receptor type. Meets USP dissolution test 6.
