"IndicationAndUsage": "Metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets are indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus.",
"Description": "Metformin Hydrochloride Extended-release Tablets, USP contain the antihyperglycemic agent metformin, which is a biguanide, in the form of monohydrochloride. The chemical name of metformin hydrochloride is N,N-dimethylimidodicarbonimidic diamide hydrochloride .The structural formula is as shown below:. Metformin hydrochloride, USP is a white to off-white crystalline compound with a molecular formula of C 4H 11N 5.HCl and a molecular weight of 165.63. It is freely soluble in water and is practically insoluble in acetone, ether, and chloroform. The pKa of metformin is 12.4. The pH of a 1% aqueous solution of metformin hydrochloride is 6.86. Metformin Hydrochloride Extended-release Tablets USP, contains 500 mg or 750 mg of metformin hydrochloride, which is equivalent to 389.93 mg, 584.90 mg metformin base, respectively. Metformin Hydrochloride Extended-release Tablets, USP 500 mg and 750 mg contain the inactive ingredients hypromellose, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose, and magnesium stearate. System Components and Performance-Metformin Hydrochloride Extended-release Tablets comprises a dual hydrophilic polymer matrix system. Metformin hydrochloride is combined with a drug release controlling polymers to form a monophasic matrix system. After administration, fluid from the gastrointestinal (GI) tract enters the tablet, causing the polymers to hydrate and swell. Drug is released slowly from the dosage form by a process of diffusion through the gel matrix that is essentially independent of pH. The hydrated polymer system is not rigid and is expected to be broken up by normal peristalsis in the GI tract. The biologically inert components of the tablet may occasionally remain intact during GI transit and will be eliminated in the feces as a soft, hydrated mass. Dissolution Method: Test 24."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Diazepam Tablets are indicated for the management of anxiety disorders or for the short-term relief of the symptoms of anxiety. Anxiety or tension associated with the stress of everyday life usually does not require treatment with an anxiolytic. In acute alcohol withdrawal, Diazepam Tablets may be useful in the symptomatic relief of acute agitation, tremor, impending or acute delirium tremens and hallucinosis. Diazepam Tablets are a useful adjunct for the relief of skeletal muscle spasm due to reflex spasm to local pathology (such as inflammation of the muscles or joints, or secondary to trauma), spasticity caused by upper motor neuron disorders (such as cerebral palsy and paraplegia), athetosis, and stiff-man syndrome. Oral diazepam may be used adjunctively in convulsive disorders, although it has not proved useful as the sole therapy. The effectiveness of Diazepam Tablets in long-term use, that is, more than 4 months, has not been assessed by systematic clinical studies. The physician should periodically reassess the usefulness of the drug for the individual patient.",

<IndicationAndUsage>Propafenone hydrochloride extended-release capsules are indicated to prolong the time to recurrence of symptomatic atrial fibrillation (AF) in patients with episodic (most likely paroxysmal or persistent) AF who do not have structural heart disease. Usage Considerations: 1 The use of propafenone hydrochloride extended-release capsules in patients with permanent AF or in patients exclusively with atrial flutter or paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT) has not been evaluated. Do not use propafenone hydrochloride extended-release capsules to control ventricular rate during AF., 2 Some patients with atrial flutter treated with propafenone have developed 1:1 conduction, producing an increase in ventricular rate. Concomitant treatment with drugs that increase the functional atrioventricular (AV) nodal refractory period is recommended., 3 The effect of propafenone on mortality has not been determined [see Boxed Warning].</IndicationAndUsage>

Dissolution Method: Test 24.</Description>

<Description>NAPRELAN®* Tablets contain naproxen sodium, a member of the arylacetic acid group of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). NAPRELAN® Tablets use the proprietary IPDAS®** (Intestinal Protective Drug Absorption System) technology. It is a rapidly disintegrating tablet system combining an immediate release component and a sustained release component of microparticles that are widely dispersed, allowing absorption of the active ingredient throughout the gastrointestinal (GI) tract, maintaining blood levels over 24 hours. The chemical name for naproxen sodium is 2-naphthaleneacetic acid, 6-methoxy-a-methyl-sodium salt, (S)- with the following structural formula:. Naproxen sodium is an odorless crystalline powder, white to creamy in color. It is soluble in methanol and water. NAPRELAN® Tablets contain 412.5 mg, 550 mg, or 825 mg of naproxen sodium, equivalent to 375 mg, 500 mg, and 750 mg of naproxen and 37.5, mg 50 mg, and 75 mg sodium respectively. <IndicationAndUsage>Morphine sulfate extended-release tablets are indicated for the management of pain severe enough to require daily, around-the-clock, long-term opioid treatment and for which alternative treatment options are inadequate. Limitations of Use: 1 Because of the risks of addiction, abuse, and misuse with opioids, even at recommended doses, and because of the greater risks of overdose and death with extended-release opioid formulations [see Warnings and Precautions (5.1)], reserve morphine sulfate extended-release tablets for use in patients for whom alternative treatment options (e.g., non-opioid analgesics or immediate-release opioids) are ineffective, not tolerated, or would be otherwise inadequate to provide sufficient management of pain. , 2 Morphine sulfate extended-release tablets are not indicated as an as-needed (prn) analgesic.</IndicationAndUsage>
<Description>Morphine sulfate extended-release tablets are for oral use and contain morphine sulfate, an opioid agonist. Each tablet contains the following inactive ingredients common to all strengths: colloidal silicon dioxide, hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, povidone, stearic acid, talc and titanium dioxide. The tablet strengths describe the amount of morphine per tablet as the pentahydrated sulfate salt (morphine sulfate, USP). The 15 mg tablets also contain: FD&C Blue # 2/Indigo carmine aluminum lake, ferrosoferric oxide, macrogol/PEG 4000 and macrogol/PEG 400. The 30 mg tablets also contain: D&C Red # 27/Phloxine aluminum lake, FD&C Blue # 2/Indigo carmine aluminum lake, macrogol/PEG 4000 and macrogol/PEG 400. The 60 mg tablets also contain: FD&C Yellow # 6 aluminum lake and macrogol/PEG 4000 and macrogol/PEG 400. The 100 mg tablets also contain: FD&C Blue # 2/Indigo carmine aluminum lake, ferrosoferric oxide, ferric oxide yellow, macrogol/PEG 4000 and macrogol/PEG 400.
