"IndicationAndUsage": "1. Indications. Progestin-only oral contraceptives are indicated for the prevention of pregnancy. 2. Efficacy. If used perfectly, the first-year failure rate for progestin-only oral contraceptives is 0.3%. However, the typical failure rate is estimated to be closer to 9%, due to late or omitted pills. Table 1 lists the pregnancy rates for users of all major methods of contraception. Emergency Contraception: Emergency contraceptive pills or insertion of a copper intrauterine contraceptive after unprotected intercourse substantially reduces the risk of pregnancy.9 (See Chapter 6.). The label for Next Choice (one dose is 1 peach pill) says to take 1 pill within 72 hours after unprotected intercourse and another pill 12 hours later. Research has shown that both pills can be taken at the same time with no decrease in efficacy or increase in side effects and that they are effective when used within 120 hours after unprotected sex. The FDA has in addition declared the following 19 brands of oral contraceptives to be safe and effective for emergency contraception: Ogestrel (1 dose is 2 white pills), Nordette (1 dose is 4 light-orange pills), Cryselle, Levora, Low-Ogestrel, Lo/Ovral, or Quasence (1 dose is 4 white pills), Jolessa, Portia, Seasonale or Trivora (1 dose is 4 pink pills), Seasonique (1 dose is 4 light-blue-green pills), Enpresse (one dose is 4 orange pills), Lessina (1 dose is 5 pink pills), Aviane or LoSeasonique (one dose is 5 orange pills), Lutera or Sronyx (one dose is 5 white pills), and Lybrel (one dose is 6 yellow pills). 10 However, to maintain effective protection against pregnancy, another method of contraception must be used as soon as menstruation resumes, the frequency or duration of breastfeeds is reduced, bottle feeds are introduced, or the baby reaches 6 months of age. "IndicationAndUsage": "Lo-Zumandimine is a combination of drospirenone, a progestin, and ethinyl estradiol, an estrogen, indicated for use by females of reproductive potential to: 1 Prevent pregnancy. (1.1), 2 Treat symptoms of premenstrual dysphoric disorder (PMDD) for females of reproductive potential who choose to use an oral contraceptive for contraception. (1.2), 3 Treat moderate acne for women at least 14 years old only if the patient desires an oral contraceptive for birth control. (1.3).",
"Description": "Lo-Zumandimine (drospirenone and ethinyl estradiol tablets, USP) provides an oral contraceptive regimen consisting of 24 light pink to pink active uncoated tablets each containing 3 mg of drospirenone USP and 0.02 mg of ethinyl estradiol USP and 4 green inert uncoated tablets. The inactive ingredients in the light pink to pink tablets are corn starch, FD&C Red No. 40, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, povidone, talc and vitamin-E. The green inert uncoated tablets contain anhydrous lactose, croscarmellose sodium, FD &C Blue No. 2 aluminum lake, ferric oxide yellow, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose and povidone. Drospirenone (6R,7R,8R,9S,10R,13S,14S,15S,16S,17S)-1,3’,4’,6,6a,7,8,9,10,11,12,13,14,15, 15a,16-hexadecahydro-10,13-dimethylspiro-[17H-dicyclopropa-[6,7:15,16]cyclopenta[a] phenanthrene-17,2’(5H)-furan]-3,5’(2H)-dione) is a synthetic progestational compound and has a molecular weight of 366.5 and a molecular formula of C24H30O3. Ethinyl estradiol (19-nor-17α-pregna 1,3,5(10)-triene-20-yne-3, 17-diol) is a synthetic estrogenic compound and has a molecular weight of 296.4 and a molecular formula of C20H24O2. The structural formulas are as follows. FDA approved dissolution test specifications differ from USP."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Oshih is indicated for use by females of reproductive age to prevent pregnancy [see Clinical Studies (14)]. The efficacy of Oshih in women with a body mass index (BMI) of more than 35 kg/m2 has not been evaluated.",
"Description": "Oshih provides an oral contraceptive regimen consisting of 24 white to off-white active chewable tablets that contain the active ingredients, followed by 4 brown non-hormonal placebo tablets as specified below. Each white to off-white active chewable tablet also contains the following inactive ingredients: compressible sugar, croscarmellose sodium, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, modified food starch (corn), nat spearmint FL, povidone, sucralose and vitamin E. Each brown placebo tablet contains croscarmellose sodium, ferrous fumarate, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, modified food starch (corn), nat spearmint FL, povidone and sucralose. The ferrous fumarate tablets do not serve any therapeutic purpose. The molecular formula of ethinyl estradiol is C20H24O2 and the structural formula is. The chemical name of ethinyl estradiol is [19-Norpregna-1,3,5(10)-trien-20-yne-3,17-diol, (17α)-]. The molecular weight of ethinyl estradiol is 296.40. The molecular formula of norethindrone acetate is C22H28O3 and the structural formula is. The chemical name of norethindrone acetate is [19-Norpregn-4-en-20-yn-3-one, 17-(acetyloxy)-, (17α)-]. The molecular weight of norethindrone acetate is 340.46."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Oral contraceptives are indicated for the prevention of pregnancy in women who elect to use this product as a method of contraception. Oral contraceptives are highly effective. Table 1 lists the typical accidental pregnancy rates for users of combination oral contraceptives and other methods of contraception. The efficacy of these contraceptive methods, except sterilization, depends upon the reliability with which they are used. Correct and consistent use of methods can result in lower failure rates.",
"Description": "Rhuzdah 28-Day (norethindrone and ethinyl estradiol tablets, USP) provide a continuous regimen for oral contraception derived from 21 light peach tablets composed of norethindrone and ethinyl estradiol to be followed by 7 green tablets of inert ingredients. The structural formulas are: The light peach active tablets each contain 0.4 mg norethindrone USP and 0.035 mg ethinyl estradiol USP, and contain the following inactive ingredients: anhydrous lactose, colloidal silicon dioxide, dibasic calcium phosphate dihydrate, FD & C yellow # 6 aluminum lake, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, povidone, sodium starch glycolate (potato) and talc. The green tablets in the 28 Day regimen contain only inert ingredients as follows: anhydrous lactose, croscarmellose sodium, FD &C Blue No.2 aluminum lake, ferric oxide yellow, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose and povidone. Meets USP Dissolution Test 3."

"Description": "Allopurinol, USP is a xanthine oxidase inhibitor. It has the following structural formula. Allopurinol is known chemically as 1, 5-dihydro-4H-pyrazolo [3, 4-d]pyrimidin-4-one and it has a molecular weight of 136.11 g/mol. Its solubility in water at 37ºC is 80.0 mg/dL and is greater in an alkaline solution. It is a xanthine oxidase inhibitor which is administered orally. Each scored white to off-white tablet contains 100 mg or 300 mg allopurinol, USP and the following inactive ingredients: corn starch, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, povidone and sodium starch glycolate."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Dapagliflozin and metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets are combination of dapagliflozin and metformin hydrochloride extended-release, indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus. Dapagliflozin, when used as a component of dapagliflozin and metformin hydrochloride extended-release, is indicated in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus to reduce the risk of: 1 Sustained eGFR decline, end-stage kidney disease, cardiovascular death, and hospitalization for heart failure in patients with chronic kidney disease at risk of progression., 2 Cardiovascular death, hospitalization for heart failure, and urgent heart failure visit in patients with heart failure., 3 Hospitalization for heart failure in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus and either established cardiovascular disease (CVD) or multiple cardiovascular (CV) risk factors.",
"Description": "Dapagliflozin and metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets contain: dapagliflozin, a SGLT2 inhibitor, and metformin hydrochloride, a biguanide. Dapagliflozin. Dapagliflozin is described chemically as (2S,3R,4R,5S,6R)-2-[3-(4-ethoxybenzyl)-4-chlorophenyl]-6-(hydroxymethyl) tetrahydro-2H-pyran-3,4,5-triol. The molecular formula is C21H25ClO6 and the molecular weight is 408.88. The structural formula is: Metformin hydrochloride USP. Metformin hydrochloride USP (N,N-dimethylimidodicarbonimidic diamide hydrochloride) is a white crystalline powder with a molecular formula of C4H11N5HCl and a molecular weight of 165.63. Metformin hydrochloride USP is freely soluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol, practically insoluble in acetone and in methylene chloride. The pKa of metformin is 12.4. The pH of a 1% aqueous solution of metformin hydrochloride is 6.68. The structural formula is. Dapagliflozin and Metformin Hydrochloride Extended-Release Tablets. Dapagliflozin and metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets containing 5 mg dapagliflozin and 500 mg metformin hydrochloride which is equivalent to 389.93 mg metformin base (dapagliflozin and metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets 5 mg/500 mg), 5 mg dapagliflozin and 1,000 mg metformin hydrochloride which is equivalent to 779.86 mg metformin base (dapagliflozin and metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets 5 mg/1,000 mg), 10 mg dapagliflozin and 500 mg metformin hydrochloride which is equivalent to 389.93 mg metformin base (dapagliflozin and metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets 10 mg/500 mg) and 10 mg dapagliflozin and 1,000 mg metformin hydrochloride which is equivalent to 779.86 mg metformin base (dapagliflozin and metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets 10 mg/1,000 mg). Dapagliflozin is described chemically as (2S,3R,4R,5S,6R)-2-[3-(4-ethoxybenzyl)-4-chlorophenyl]-6-(hydroxymethyl) tetrahydro-2H-pyran-3,4,5-triol. The molecular formula is C21H25ClO6 and the molecular weight is 408.88. The structural formula is: Metformin hydrochloride USP. Metformin hydrochloride USP (N,N-dimethylimidodicarbonimidic diamide hydrochloride) is a white crystalline powder with a molecular formula of C4H11N5HCl and a molecular weight of 165.63. Metformin hydrochloride USP is freely soluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol, practically insoluble in acetone and in methylene chloride. The pKa of metformin is 12.4. The molecular formula is C21H25ClO6 and the molecular weight is 408.88. The structural formula is: Metformin hydrochloride USP. Metformin hydrochloride USP (N,N-dimethylimidodicarbonimidic diamide hydrochloride) is a white crystalline powder with a molecular formula of C4H11N5HCl and a molecular weight of 165.63. Metformin hydrochloride USP is freely soluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol, practically insoluble in acetone and in methylene chloride. The pKa of metformin is 12.4. "Description": "Duloxetine delayed-release capsules are selective serotonin and norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor (SNRI) for oral administration. Its chemical designation is (+)-(S)-N-methyl-γ-(1-naphthyloxy)-2-thiophenepropylamine hydrochloride. The molecular formula is C18H19NOSHCl, which corresponds to a molecular weight of 333.88. The structural formula is. Duloxetine hydrochloride USP is a white to brownish-white solid, which is slightly soluble in water. Each capsule contains enteric-coated pellets of 20, 30, or 60 mg of duloxetine (equivalent to 22.4, 33.7, or 67.3 mg of duloxetine hydrochloride USP, respectively). These enteric-coated pellets are designed to prevent degradation of the drug in the acidic environment of the stomach. Inactive ingredients include crospovidone, hydroxy propyl cellulose, hypromellose, hypromellose phthalate, sugar spheres, talc, titanium dioxide, and triethylcitrate. The empty hard gelatin capsule shells contain gelatin, titanium dioxide, and sodium lauryl sulphate.
