<IndicationAndUsage>Aminocaproic acid oral solution is useful in enhancing hemostasis when fibrinolysis contributes to bleeding. In life-threatening situations, transfusion of appropriate blood products and other emergency measures may be required. Fibrinolytic bleeding may frequently be associated with surgical complications following heart surgery (with or without cardiac bypass procedures) and portacaval shunt; hematological disorders such as amegakaryocytic thrombocytopenia (accompanying aplastic anemia); acute and life-threatening abruptio placentae; hepatic cirrhosis; and neoplastic disease such as carcinoma of the prostate, lung, stomach, and cervix. Urinary fibrinolysis, usually a normal physiological phenomenon, may contribute to excessive urinary tract fibrinolytic bleeding associated with surgical hematuria (following prostatectomy and nephrectomy) or nonsurgical hematuria (accompanying polycystic or neoplastic diseases of the genitourinary system). (See WARNINGS.).</IndicationAndUsage>

Aminocaproic acid, USP is 6-aminohexanoic acid, which acts as an inhibitor of fibrinolysis. Its chemical structure is. Aminocaproic acid, USP is freely soluble in water, slightly soluble in methanol, practically insoluble in acetone, in hexane, in methylene dichloride and in isopropyl alcohol. Aminocaproic acid oral solution, USP for oral administration, contains 0.25 grams/mL of aminocaproic acid, USP with methylparaben 0.20%, propylparaben 0.05%, edetate disodium 0.30% as preservatives and the following inactive ingredients: art raspberry FL (contains propylene glycol), citric acid anhydrous, masking flavor (contains acesulfame, acetic acid, ammoniated glycyrrhizin, artificial flavors, aspartame, propylene glycol and water), purified water, sorbitol solution, and sucralose.

<IndicationAndUsage>Sapropterin dihydrochloride tablets are indicated to reduce blood phenylalanine (Phe) levels in adult and pediatric patients one month of age and older with hyperphenylalaninemia (HPA) due to tetrahydrobiopterin- (BH4-) responsive Phenylketonuria (PKU). Sapropterin dihydrochloride tablets are to be used in conjunction with a Phe-restricted diet.</IndicationAndUsage>

Sapropterin dihydrochloride tablets are an orally administered Phenylalanine Hydroxylase activator (or PAH activator). Sapropterin dihydrochloride, the active pharmaceutical ingredient in sapropterin dihydrochloride tablets, is a synthetic preparation of the dihydrochloride salt of naturally occurring tetrahydrobiopterin (BH4). Sapropterin dihydrochloride is an off-white to pale yellow crystalline powder. The chemical name of sapropterin dihydrochloride is (6R)-2-amino-6-[(1R,2S)-1,2-dihydroxypropyl]-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-4(1H)-pteridinone dihydrochloride and the molecular formula is C9H15N5O3·2HCl with a molecular weight of 314.17. Sapropterin dihydrochloride has the following structural formula: Sapropterin dihydrochloride is supplied as tablets containing 100 mg of sapropterin dihydrochloride (equivalent to 76.8 mg of sapropterin base). Tablets are off-white to light yellow mottled uncoated round tablets debossed with “S 1” on one side and plain on other side. Each tablet contains the following inactive ingredients: ascorbic acid, crospovidone, dibasic calcium phosphate anhydrous, mannitol, riboflavin and sodium stearyl fumarate.
