"Description": "Bisoprolol Fumarate and Hydrochlorothiazide Tablets, USP are indicated for the treatment of hypertension. It combines two antihypertensive agents in a once-daily dosage: a synthetic beta1‑selective (cardioselective) adrenoceptor blocking agent (bisoprolol fumarate) and a benzothiadiazine diuretic (hydrochlorothiazide). Bisoprolol fumarate, USP is chemically described as (±)-1-[4-[[2-(1‑methylethoxy)ethoxy]methyl]phenoxy]-3-[(1-methylethyl)amino]-2-propanol(E)-2-butenedioate (2:1) (salt). It possesses an asymmetric carbon atom in its structure and is provided as a racemic mixture. The S(-) enantiomer is responsible for most of the beta-blocking activity. Its empirical formula is (C18H31NO4)2C4H4O4 and it has a molecular weight of 766.96 g/mol. Its structural formula is. Bisoprolol fumarate, USP is a white crystalline powder, approximately equally hydrophilic and lipophilic, and very soluble in water, methanol, freely soluble in alcohol, glacial acetic acid and chloroform and slightly soluble in acetone and ethyl acetate. Hydrochlorothiazide (HCTZ), USP is 6-Chloro-3,4-dihydro-2H-1,2,4-benzothiadiazine-7-sulfonamide 1,1-dioxide. It is a white, or almost white, almost odorless crystalline powder. It is very slightly soluble in water, soluble in acetone, freely soluble in n-butylamine, N,N-dimethylformamide and diluted solutions of alkali hydroxides, sparingly soluble in methanol and ethanol, and practically insoluble in ether, chloroform, and dilute mineral acids. Its empirical formula is C7H8ClN3O4S2 and it has a molecular weight of 297.7 g/mol. Its structural formula is. Each Bisoprolol Fumarate and Hydrochlorothiazide Tablet, USP 2.5 mg/6.25 mg for oral administration contains:. <IndicationAndUsage>Timolol Maleate ophthalmic solution is indicated in the treatment of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with ocular hypertension or open-angle glaucoma.</IndicationAndUsage>
<Description>Timolol Maleate ophthalmic solution is a non-selective beta-adrenergic receptor blocking agent. Its chemical name is (-)-1-(tert-Butylamino)-3-[(4-morpholino-1,2,5-thiadiazol-3-yl)oxy]-2-propanol maleate (1:1) (salt). Timolol Maleate possesses an asymmetric carbon atom in its structure and is provided as the levo-isomer. The nominal optical rotation of Timolol Maleate is. Its molecular formula is C13 H24 N4 O3 S C4 H4 O4 and its structural formula is. Timolol Maleate has a molecular weight of 432.50. It is a white, odorless, crystalline powder which is soluble in water, methanol, and alcohol. Timolol Maleate ophthalmic solution is stable at room temperature. Timolol Maleate ophthalmic solution is supplied as a sterile, isotonic, buffered, aqueous solution of Timolol Maleate in two dosage strengths: Each mL, for ophthalmic administration, of 0.25% solution contains 2.5 mg of timolol (3.4 mg of Timolol Maleate). The pH of the solution is approximately 7.0. Each mL, for ophthalmic administration, of 0.5% solution contains 5 mg of timolol (6.8 mg of Timolol Maleate). Inactive ingredients: monobasic and dibasic sodium phosphate; hydrochloric acid and/or sodium hydroxide to adjust pH; and purified water. Benzalkonium chloride 0.01% is added as preservative.</Description>
