"IndicationAndUsage": "Zolpidem tartrate tablets, USP are indicated for the short-term treatment of insomnia characterized by difficulties with sleep initiation. Zolpidem tartrate tablets, USP have been shown to decrease sleep latency for up to 35 days in controlled clinical studies [see Clinical Studies (14) ]. The clinical trials performed in support of efficacy were 4-5 weeks in duration with the final formal assessments of sleep latency performed at the end of treatment.",
"Description": "Zolpidem tartrate is a gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) A agonist of the imidazopyridine class and is available in 5 mg and 10 mg strength tablets for oral administration. Chemically, zolpidem is N,N,6-trimethyl-2-p-tolylimidazo[1,2-a] pyridine-3-acetamide L-(+)-tartrate (2:1). Zolpidem tartrate, USP is a white to off-white crystalline powder that is sparingly soluble in water, alcohol, and propylene glycol. It has a molecular weight of 764.88. Each zolpidem tartrate tablet, USP includes the following inactive ingredients: hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, magnesium stearate, polyethylene glycol, sodium starch glycolate, titanium dioxide and ferric oxide red; the 10 mg tablet also contains ferric oxide yellow."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Temazepam Capsules, USP are indicated for the short-term treatment of insomnia (generally 7 to 10 days). For patients with short-term insomnia, instructions in the prescription should indicate that Temazepam Capsules should be used for short periods of time (7 to 10 days). The clinical trials performed in support of efficacy were 2 weeks in duration with the final formal assessment of sleep latency performed at the end of treatment.",
"Description": "DESCRIPTIONTemazepam is a benzodiazepine hypnotic agent. The chemical name is 7-chloro1,3-dihydro-3-hydroxy-1-methyl-5-phenyl-2H-1,4-benzodiazepin-2-one, and the structural formula is. C16H13ClN2O2 MW = 300.74Temazepam is a white, crystalline substance, very slightly soluble in water and sparingly soluble in alcohol USP.Temazepam capsules, 15 mg and 30 mg, are for oral administration.15 mg and 30 mg CapsulesActive Ingredient: temazepam USP15 mg CapsulesInactive Ingredients: Corn starch, lactose anhydrous, magnesium stearate, sodium lauryl sulfate, FD&C Blue #1, FD&C yellow # 6, gelatin and titanium dioxide.May also include: sodium lauryl sulfate. "Description": "Doxycycline tablets, USP is a broad-spectrum antibacterial synthetically derived from oxytetracycline. Doxycycline 100 mg tablets contain doxycycline monohydrate equivalent to 100 mg of doxycycline for oral administration. Inactive ingredients include anhydrous lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, corn starch, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, polyvinyl alcohol, titanium dioxide, polyethylene glycol, talc, D&C yellow #10 aluminum lake, and FD&C yellow #6 aluminum lake. The chemical designation of the light-yellow crystalline powder is 4-(Dimethylamino)-1,4,4a,5,5a,6,11,12a-octahydro-3,5,10,12,12a-pentahydroxy-6-methyl-1,11-dioxo-2-naphthacenecarboxamide monohydrate. Structural formula. Doxycycline tablets, USP has a high degree of lipid solubility and a low affinity for calcium binding. It is highly stable in normal human serum. Doxycycline will not degrade into an epianhydro form."

"Description": "Tamsulosin hydrochloride is an antagonist of alpha1A adrenoceptors in the prostate. Tamsulosin hydrochloride is (-)-(R)-5-[2-[[2-(o-Ethoxyphenoxy) ethyl]amino]propyl]-2-methoxybenzenesulfonamide, monohydrochloride. Tamsulosin hydrochloride is a white crystalline powder that melts with decomposition at approximately 230°C. It is sparingly soluble in water and methanol, slightly soluble in glacial acetic acid and ethanol, and practically insoluble in ether. The empirical formula of tamsulosin hydrochloride is C20H28N2O5S HCl. The molecular weight of tamsulosin hydrochloride is 444.98. Its structural formula is. Each tamsulosin hydrochloride capsule USP for oral administration contains tamsulosin hydrochloride 0.4 mg, and the following inactive ingredients: methacrylic acid copolymer, microcrystalline cellulose, purified water, talc, triethyl citrate, black iron oxide, FD&C Blue No. 2, gelatin, red iron oxide, titanium dioxide, yellow iron oxide and trace amounts of antifoam DC 1510, industrial methylated spirit, lecithin, n-butyl alcohol, dehydrated alcohol, isopropyl alcohol, butyl alcohol, propylene glycol, ammonium, potassium hydroxide and shellac. Complies with USP Dissolution Test 4."

It is a white to creamy white, crystalline powder that has a molecular weight of 248.30. Dapsone's chemical name is 4-[(4-aminobenzene) sulfonyl] aniline and its structural formula is. Each gram of dapsone gel, 7.5%, contains 75 mg of dapsone, USP, in a gel of diethylene glycol monoethyl ether, methylparaben, acrylamide/sodium acryloyldimethyl taurate copolymer, isohexadecane, polysorbate 80, and purified water."

"IndicationAndUsage": "DAYBUE and DAYBUE STIX are indicated for the treatment of Rett syndrome in adults and pediatric patients 2 years of age and older.",
"Description": "DAYBUE oral solution and DAYBUE STIX for oral solution contain the active moiety trofinetide. The chemical name of trofinetide is (2S)-2-{[(2S)-1-(2-aminoacetyl)-2-methylpyrrolidine-2-carbonyl]amino}pentanedioic acid (IUPAC). The molecular formula of trofinetide is C13H21N3O6 and its molecular weight is 315.33 g/mol. The chemical structure is shown below. Trofinetide is a white to off-white solid and is freely soluble in water. DAYBUE oral solution is pink to red in color and contains 1 g of trofinetide in each 5 mL of solution (200 mg/mL). The oral solution also contains FD&C Red No. 40, maltitol, methylparaben sodium, propylparaben sodium, purified water, strawberry flavor, and sucralose as inactive ingredients. DAYBUE STIX for oral solution is a white, off-white to pinkish powder to be dissolved in a cold to room temperature water or water-based beverage before administration and contains 5,000 mg, 6,000 mg, or 8,000 mg of trofinetide in each packet. The for oral solution powder contains natural strawberry flavor and sucralose as inactive ingredients."

"Description": "Levocetirizine dihydrochloride, the active component of levocetirizine dihydrochloride tablets, is an orally active H1–receptor antagonist. The chemical name is (R)-[2-[4-[(4-chlorophenyl) phenylmethyl]-1-piperazinyl] ethoxy] acetic acid dihydrochloride. Levocetirizine dihydrochloride is the R enantiomer of cetirizine hydrochloride, a racemic compound with antihistaminic properties. The empirical formula of levocetirizine dihydrochloride is C21H25ClN2O32HCl. The molecular weight is 461.82 and the chemical structure is shown below. Levocetirizine dihydrochloride is a white, or almost white powder and is freely soluble in water, practically insoluble in acetone and methylene chloride. Levocetirizine dihydrochloride tablets, 5 mg are formulated as immediate release, white, film-coated, oval, scored tablets for oral administration. The tablets are debossed with “S” on the left side of bisect and “G” on the right side of the bisect and other side “1” on the left side and “36” on the right side of the bisect. Inactive ingredients are: microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, colloidal silicon dioxide, and magnesium stearate. The film coating Opadry white YS-1-18202-A contains hypromellose, titanium dioxide, and macrogol/polyethylene glycol 400."

"Description": "Metronidazole topical gel, 1% is a nitroimidazole for topical use. Metronidazole Gel is a clear, colorless to pale yellow, aqueous gel. Each gram contains 10 mg of metronidazole. Chemically, metronidazole is 2-methyl-5-nitro-1 H-imidazole-1-ethanol. The molecular formula for metronidazole is C6H9N3O3. It has the following structural formula. Metronidazole has a molecular weight of 171.16. It is a white to pale yellow crystalline powder. It is slightly soluble in alcohol and has solubility in water of 10 mg/mL at 20˚C. Metronidazole belongs to the nitroimidazole class of compounds.The inactive ingredients are betadex, edetate disodium, hydroxyethyl cellulose, methylparaben, niacinamide, phenoxyethanol, propylene glycol, propylparaben and purified water."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Fluticasone propionate and salmeterol inhalation powder is a combination product containing a corticosteroid and a long-acting beta2-adrenergic agonist (LABA) indicated for: : 1 Twice-daily treatment of asthma in patients aged 4 years and older. (1.1) , 2 Maintenance treatment of airflow obstruction and reducing exacerbations in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). (1.2) .",
"Description": "Fluticasone propionate and salmeterol inhalation powder, USP 100 mcg/50 mcg, fluticasone propionate and salmeterol inhalation powder, USP 250 mcg/50 mcg, and fluticasone propionate and salmeterol inhalation powder, USP 500 mcg/50 mcg are combinations of fluticasone propionate and salmeterol xinafoate. One active component of fluticasone propionate and salmeterol inhalation powder is fluticasone propionate, a corticosteroid having the chemical name S-(fluoromethyl) 6α,9-difluoro-11β,17-dihydroxy-16α-methyl-3-oxoandrosta-1,4-diene-17β-carbothioate, 17-propionate and the following chemical structure. Fluticasone propionate is a white powder with a molecular weight of 500.6, and the empirical formula is C25H31F3O5S. It is practically insoluble in water, freely soluble in dimethyl sulfoxide and dimethylformamide, and slightly soluble in methanol and 95% ethanol. The other active component of fluticasone propionate and salmeterol inhalation powder is salmeterol xinafoate, a beta2-adrenergic bronchodilator. Salmeterol xinafoate is the racemic form of the 1-hydroxy-2-naphthoic acid salt of salmeterol. It has the chemical name 4-hydroxy-α1-[[[6-(4-phenylbutoxy)hexyl]amino] methyl]-1,3-benzenedimethanol, 1-hydroxy-2-naphthalenecarboxylate and the following chemical structure. Salmeterol xinafoate is a white powder with a molecular weight of 603.8, and the empirical formula is C25H37NO4C11H8O3. It is freely soluble in methanol; slightly soluble in ethanol, chloroform, and isopropanol; and sparingly soluble in water. Fluticasone propionate and salmeterol inhalation powder is supplied in a blue-white plastic inhaler containing a foil blister strip. Each blister on the strip contains a white powder mix of micronized fluticasone propionate (100, 250, or 500 mcg) and micronized salmeterol xinafoate salt (72.5 mcg, equivalent to 50 mcg of salmeterol base) in 12.5 mg of formulation containing lactose monohydrate (which contains milk proteins). After the inhaler is activated, the powder is dispersed into the airstream created by the patient inhaling through the mouthpiece. Under standardized in vitro test conditions, fluticasone propionate and salmeterol inhalation powder delivers 93, 233, and 465 mcg of fluticasone propionate and 45 mcg of salmeterol base per blister from fluticasone propionate and salmeterol inhalation powder, USP 100 mcg/50 mcg, fluticasone propionate and salmeterol inhalation powder, USP 250 mcg/50 mcg, and fluticasone propionate and salmeterol inhalation powder, USP 500 mcg/50 mcg, respectively, when tested at a flow rate of 60 L/min for 2 seconds. In adult subjects with obstructive lung disease and severely compromised lung function (mean FEV1 20% to 30% of predicted), mean peak inspiratory flow (PIF) through another dry powder inhaler was 82.4 L/min (range: 46.1 to 115.3 L/min). Inhalation profiles for adolescent (N = 13, aged 12 to 17 years) and adult (N = 17, aged 18 to 50 years) subjects with asthma inhaling maximally through another dry powder inhaler show mean PIF of 122.2 L/min (range: 81.6 to 152.1 L/min). Inhalation profiles for pediatric subjects with asthma inhaling maximally through another dry powder inhaler show a mean PIF of 75.5 L/min (range: 49.0 to 104.8 L/min) for the 4-year-old subject set (N = 20) and 107.3 L/min (range: 82.8 to 125.6 L/min) for the 8-year-old subject set (N = 20). The actual amount of drug delivered to the lung will depend on patient factors, such as inspiratory flow profile."

"Description": "The active ingredient in omeprazole delayed-release capsule, USP is a substituted benzimidazole, 5-methoxy-2-[[(4-methoxy-3, 5-dimethyl-2-pyridinyl) methyl] sulfinyl]-1 H-benzimidazole, a compound that inhibits gastric acid secretion. Its molecular formula is C 17H 19N 3O 3S, with a molecular weight of 345.42. The structural formula is:. Omeprazole is a white to off-white crystalline powder that melts with decomposition at about 155°C. It is a weak base, freely soluble in ethanol and methanol, and slightly soluble in acetone and isopropanol and very slightly soluble in water. The stability of omeprazole is a function of pH; it is rapidly degraded in acid media, but has acceptable stability under alkaline conditions. Omeprazole is supplied as delayed-release capsules for oral administration. Each delayed-release capsule contains either 10 mg or 20 mg of omeprazole in the form of enteric-coated granules. The 10 mg and 20 mg capsule contains the following inactive ingredients: crospovidone, dibasic sodium phosphate, hypromellose, magnesium hydroxide granules (with corn starch), methacrylicacid and ethyl acrylate copolymer dispersion, polyethylene glycol, polysorbate 80, polyvinyl alcohol, polyvinyl alcohol-polyethylene glycol graft copolymer, purified water, silicon dioxide, sodium lauryl sulfate, sugar spheres (sucrose, corn starch, and purified water), talc, and titanium dioxide. The capsule shells for the 10 and 20 mg have the following inactive ingredients: gelatin and titanium dioxide. The ink used for printing contains: black iron oxide, potassium hydroxide, propylene glycol, shellac, and strong ammonia solution. Omeprazole delayed-release capsules meet USP Dissolution Test 2."

"Description": "Alprazolam contains alprazolam which is a triazolo analog of the 1,4 benzodiazepine class of central nervous system-active compounds. The chemical name of alprazolam is 8-Chloro-1-methyl-6-phenyl-4H-s-triazolo [4,3-α] [1,4] benzodiazepine. The structural formula is. Alprazolam is a white crystalline powder, which is soluble in methanol or ethanol but which has no appreciable solubility in water at physiological pH. Each Alprazolam tablet, for oral administration, contains 0.25 mg, 0.5 mg, 1 mg, or 2 mg of alprazolam. Inactive ingredients: cellulose, corn starch, docusate sodium, lactose, magnesium stearate, silicon dioxide and sodium benzoate. In addition, the 0.5 mg tablet contains FD&C Yellow No. 6 and the 1 mg tablet contains FD&C Blue No. 2."

"Description": "Tramadol Hydrochloride Extended-Release (tramadol hydrochloride) capsules is a centrally acting synthetic analgesic in an extended-release oral formulation. The chemical name for tramadol hydrochloride is (±)cis-2-[(dimethylamino)methyl]-1-(3-methoxyphenyl) cyclohexanol hydrochloride. Its structural formula is. Figure 1. The molecular weight of tramadol hydrochloride is 299.8. It is a white, bitter, crystalline and odorless powder that is readily soluble in water and ethanol and has a pKa of 9.41. The n-octanol/water log partition coefficient (logP) is 1.35 at pH 7. Tramadol Hydrochloride Extended-Release capsules contain a total dose of tramadol HCl 100, 200 and 300 mg in a combination of immediate-release and extended-release components. Tramadol Hydrochloride Extended-Release capsules are white in color. Inactive ingredients include gelatin, titanium dioxide, shellac, yellow iron oxide, lactose monohydrate 200 mesh, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone K30, corn starch, sodium starch glycolate, magnesium stearate, sucrose stearate, hypromellose, talc, polysorbate 80, Eudragit NE 30D, and simethicone emulsion."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Anxiety Disorders Alprazolam tablets are indicated for the management of anxiety disorder (a condition corresponding most closely to the APA Diagnostic and Statistical Manual [DSM-III-R] diagnosis of generalized anxiety disorder) or the short-term relief of symptoms of anxiety. Anxiety or tension associated with the stress of everyday life usually does not require treatment with an anxiolytic. Generalized anxiety disorder is characterized by unrealistic or excessive anxiety and worry (apprehensive expectation) about two or more life circumstances, for a period of six months or longer, during which the person has been bothered more days than not by these concerns. At least 6 of the following 18 symptoms are often present in these patients: Motor Tension (trembling, twitching, or feeling shaky; muscle tension, aches, or soreness; restlessness; easy fatigability); Autonomic Hyperactivity (shortness of breath or smothering sensations; palpitations or accelerated heart rate; sweating, or cold clammy hands; dry mouth; dizziness or light-headedness; nausea, diarrhea, or other abdominal distress; flushes or chills; frequent urination; trouble swallowing or ‘lump in throat’); Vigilance and Scanning (feeling keyed up or on edge; exaggerated startle response; difficulty concentrating or ‘mind going blank’ because of anxiety; trouble falling or staying asleep; irritability). These symptoms must not be secondary to another psychiatric disorder or caused by some organic factor. Anxiety associated with depression is responsive to alprazolam. Panic Disorder Alprazolam is also indicated for the treatment of panic disorder, with or without agoraphobia. Studies supporting this claim were conducted in patients whose diagnoses corresponded closely to the DSM-III-R/IV criteria for panic disorder (see CLINICAL STUDIES). Panic disorder (DSM-IV) is characterized by recurrent unexpected panic attacks, ie, a discrete period of intense fear or discomfort in which four (or more) of the following symptoms develop abruptly and reach a peak within 10 minutes: (1) palpitations, pounding heart, or accelerated heart rate; (2) sweating; (3) trembling or shaking; (4) sensations of shortness of breath or smothering; (5) feeling of choking; (6) chest pain or discomfort; (7) nausea or abdominal distress; (8) feeling dizzy, unsteady, lightheaded, or faint; (9) derealization (feelings of unreality) or depersonalization (being detached from oneself); (10) fear of losing control; (11) fear of dying; (12) paresthesias (numbness or tingling sensations); (13) chills or hot flushes. Demonstrations of the effectiveness of alprazolam by systematic clinical study are limited to 4 months duration for anxiety disorder and 4 to 10 weeks duration for panic disorder; however, patients with panic disorder have been treated on an open basis for up to 8 months without apparent loss of benefit. The physician should periodically reassess the usefulness of the drug for the individual patient.",

"IndicationAndUsage": "Anxiety Disorders. Alprazolam tablets are indicated for the management of anxiety disorder (a condition corresponding most closely to the APA Diagnostic and Statistical Manual [DSM-III-R] diagnosis of generalized anxiety disorder) or the short-term relief of symptoms of anxiety. Anxiety or tension associated with the stress of everyday life usually does not require treatment with an anxiolytic. Generalized anxiety disorder is characterized by unrealistic or excessive anxiety and worry (apprehensive expectation) about two or more life circumstances, for a period of 6 months or longer, during which the person has been bothered more days than not by these concerns. At least 6 of the following 18 symptoms are often present in these patients: Motor Tension (trembling, twitching, or feeling shaky; muscle tension, aches, or soreness; restlessness; easy fatigability); Autonomic Hyperactivity (shortness of breath or smothering sensations; palpitations or accelerated heart rate; sweating, or cold clammy hands; dry mouth; dizziness or light-headedness; nausea, diarrhea, or other abdominal distress; flushes or chills; frequent urination; trouble swallowing or 'lump in throat'); Vigilance and Scanning (feeling keyed up or on edge; exaggerated startle response; difficulty concentrating or 'mind going blank' because of anxiety; trouble falling or staying asleep; irritability). These symptoms must not be secondary to another psychiatric disorder or caused by some organic factor. Anxiety associated with depression is responsive to alprazolam tablets. Panic Disorder. Alprazolam tablets are also indicated for the treatment of panic disorder, with or without agoraphobia. Studies supporting this claim were conducted in patients whose diagnoses corresponded closely to the DSM-III-R/IV criteria for panic disorder (see CLINICAL STUDIES). Panic disorder (DSM-IV) is characterized by recurrent unexpected panic attacks, i.e., a discrete period of intense fear or discomfort in which four (or more) of the following symptoms develop abruptly and reach a peak within 10 minutes: (1) palpitations, pounding heart, or accelerated heart rate; (2) sweating; (3) trembling or shaking; (4) sensations of shortness of breath or smothering; (5) feeling of choking; (6) chest pain or discomfort; (7) nausea or abdominal distress; (8) feeling dizzy, unsteady, lightheaded, or faint; (9) derealization (feelings of unreality) or depersonalization (being detached from oneself); (10) fear of losing control; (11) fear of dying; (12) paresthesias (numbness or tingling sensations); (13) chills or hot flushes. Demonstrations of the effectiveness of alprazolam tablets by systematic clinical study are limited to 4 months duration for anxiety disorder and 4 to 10 weeks duration for panic disorder; however, patients with panic disorder have been treated on an open basis for up to 8 months without apparent loss of benefit. The physician should periodically reassess the usefulness of the drug for the individual patient.",
"Description": "Alprazolam Tablets, USP contain alprazolam which is a triazolo analog of the 1,4 benzodiazepine class of central nervous system-active compounds. The chemical name of alprazolam is 8-Chloro-1-methyl-6-phenyl-4H-s-triazolo[4,3-α][1,4] benzodiazepine. The structural formula is. Alprazolam is a white crystalline powder, which is soluble in methanol or ethanol but which has no appreciable solubility in water at physiological pH. "Description": "Rx only. DESCRIPTION. Promethazine Hydrochloride, a phenothiazine derivative, is designated chemically as 10- [2-(Dimethylamino)propyl]phenothiazine monohydochloride and has the following structural formula. Promethazine hydrochloride is a racemic compound; the empirical formula is C17H20N2S HCl and its molecular weight is 320.88. Promethazine hydrochloride occurs as a white to faint yellow, practically odorless, crystalline powder which slowly oxidizes and turns blue on prolonged exposure to air. It is freely soluble in water and soluble in alcohol. Each tablet for oral administration contains 12.5 mg, 25 mg or 50 mg promethazine hydrochloride, USP. The inactive ingredients include: lactose anhydrous, magnesium stearate, and microcrystalline cellulose. The 50 mg also contains D&C Red # 27 Lake."

"Description": "Amitriptyline HCl is 3-(10,11-dihydro-5H-dibenzo [a,d] cycloheptene-5-ylidene)-N,N-dimethyl-1-propanamine hydrochloride. Its empirical formula is C20H23NHCl, and its structural formula is. Amitriptyline HCl, a dibenzocycloheptadiene derivative, has a molecular weight of 313.87. It is a white, odorless, crystalline compound which is freely soluble in water. Amitriptyline HCl is supplied as 10 mg, 25 mg, 50 mg, 75 mg, 100 mg or 150 mg tablets. Each tablet contains the following inactive ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, polysorbate, sodium starch glycolate and titanium dioxide. The 10 mg tablets also contain FD&C blue #1 lake. The 25 mg tablets also contain D&C yellow #10 lake and FD&C blue #2 lake. The 50 mg tablets also contain synthetic black iron oxide, synthetic red iron oxide and synthetic yellow iron oxide. The 75 mg tablets also contain FD&C yellow #6 lake. The 100 mg tablets also contain D&C red #33 lake and FD&C red #40 lake. The 150 mg tablets also contain FD&C blue #2 lake and FD&C yellow #6 lake."

Sertraline hydrochloride has a molecular weight of 342.7 and has the following chemical name: (1S-cis)-4-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-N-methyl-1-naphthalenamine hydrochloride. The empirical formula C17H17NCl2HCl is represented by the following structural formula. Chemical Structure. Sertraline hydrochloride USP is a white crystalline powder that is slightly soluble in water and isopropyl alcohol, and sparingly soluble in ethanol. Sertraline hydrochloride tablets USP are supplied for oral administration as scored tablets containing sertraline hydrochloride USP equivalent to 25 mg, 50 mg, and 100 mg of sertraline and the following inactive ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycolate, hydroxypropyl cellulose, dibasic calcium phosphate dihydrate, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, titanium dioxide, polyethylene glycol, and polysorbate 80. Besides, 25 mg contains D&C yellow #10 aluminum lake, FD&C blue #1 aluminum lake, FD&C red #40 aluminum lake; 50 mg contains FD&C blue #2 aluminum lake; and 100 mg contains iron oxide yellow. "IndicationAndUsage": "To reduce the development of drug-resistant bacteria and maintain the effectiveness of amoxicillin and other antibacterial drugs, amoxicillin should be used only to treat infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by bacteria. When culture and susceptibility information are available, they should be considered in selecting or modifying antibacterial therapy. In the absence of such data, local epidemiology and susceptibility patterns may contribute to the empiric selection of therapy. Amoxicillin is a penicillin-class antibacterial indicated for treatment of infections due tosusceptible (ONLY β-lactamase–negative) isolates of the designated bacteria in the conditions listed below. Infections of the Ear, Nose, and Throat. – due to Streptococcus species. (α- and β-hemolytic isolates only), Streptococcus pneumoniae, Staphylococcus spp., or Haemophilus influenzae. Infections of the Genitourinary Tract. – due to Escherichia coli, Proteus mirabilis, or Enterococcus faecalis. Infections of the Skin and Skin Structure. – due to Streptococcus spp. (α- and β-hemolytic isolates only), Staphylococcus spp., or E. coli. Infections of the Lower Respiratory Tract. – due to Streptococcus spp. (α- and β-hemolytic isolates only), S. pneumoniae, Staphylococcus spp., or H. influenzae. Gonorrhea, Acute Uncomplicated (Ano-Genital and Urethral Infections in Males and Females). – due to Neisseria gonorrhoeae. Because of high rates of amoxicillin resistance, amoxicillin is not recommended for empiric treatment of gonorrhea. Amoxicillin use should be limited to situations where N. gonorrhoeae isolates are known to be susceptible to amoxicillin. Triple Therapy for Helicobacter pyloriwith Clarithromycin and Lansoprazole. Amoxicillin, in combination with clarithromycin plus lansoprazole as triple therapy, is indicated for the treatment of patients with H. pylori infection and duodenal ulcer disease (active or 1 year history of a duodenal ulcer) to eradicate H. pylori. Eradication of H. pylori has been shown to reduce the risk of duodenal ulcer recurrence. Dual Therapy for H. pylori with Lansoprazole. Amoxicillin, in combination with lansoprazole delayed-release capsules as dual therapy, is indicated for the treatment of patients with H. pylori infection and duodenal ulcer disease (active or 1 year history of a duodenal ulcer) who are either allergic or intolerant to clarithromycin or in whom resistance to clarithromycin is known or suspected. (See the clarithromycin package insert, Microbiology.) Eradication of H. pylori has been shown to reduce the risk of duodenal ulcer recurrence. [See CLINICAL STUDIES and DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION].",
"Description": "Amoxicillin is a semisynthetic antibiotic, an analog of ampicillin, with a broad spectrum of bactericidal activity against many gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms. Chemically, it is (2S,5R,6R)-6-[(R)-(-)-2-amino-2-(p-hydroxyphenyl)acetamido]-3,3-dimethyl-7-oxo-4-thia-1-azabicyclo[3.2.0]heptane-2-carboxylic acid trihydrate. The structural formula is. Amoxicillin Capsules, USP. Each capsule, for oral administration, provide amoxicillin trihydrate equivalent to 250 mg or 500 mg amoxicillin. Inactive Ingredients: CAPSULES-DRUG PRODUCT: Magnesium Stearate, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate. CAPSULE SHELL AND PRINT CONSTITUENTS: Gelatin, Sodium Lauryl Sulfate, Titanium Dioxide, D&C Red No. 33; FD&C Blue No. 1; FD&C Red No. 40; FD&C Yellow No. 6. In addition, each 250 mg capsule contains up to 0.0027 mEq (0.062 mg) of sodium; the 500 mg capsule contains up to 0.0052 mEq (0.119 mg) of sodium. Amoxicillin for Oral Suspension, USP. Each 5 mL of reconstituted suspension contains amoxicillin trihydrate equivalent to 125 mg or 250 mg of amoxicillin, when the dry powder is reconstituted according to directions.Inactive Ingredients: SUSPENSION: Carboxymethylcellulose Sodium, Colloidal Silicon Dioxide, Flavors, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Sodium Citrate, Sodium Propionate, Sucrose, FD&C Red No. 40, FD&C Yellow No. 6. In addition, each 5 mL of the 125 mg reconstituted suspension contains up to 0.209 mEq (4.80 mg) of sodium; each 5 mL of the 250 mg reconstituted suspension contains up to 0.417 mEq (9.60 mg) of sodium. Amoxicillin Tablets, USP. Each tablet, for oral administration, provide amoxicillin trihydrate equivalent to 875 mg amoxicillin. "IndicationAndUsage": "Butalbital, acetaminophen and caffeine tablets are indicated for the relief of the symptom complex of tension (or muscle contraction) headache. Evidence supporting the efficacy and safety of this combination product in the treatment of multiple recurrent headaches is unavailable. Caution in this regard is required because butalbital is habit-forming and potentially abusable.",
