The chemical name of metformin hydrochloride is N,N-dimethylimidodicarbonimidic diamide hydrochloride. The structural formula is as shown below:. Metformin hydrochloride, USP is a white to off-white crystalline compound with a molecular formula of C 4H 11N 5 HCl and a molecular weight of 165.63. It is freely soluble in water and is practically insoluble in acetone, ether, and chloroform. The pKa of metformin is 12.4. The pH of a 1% aqueous solution of Metformin Hydrochloride is 6.68. Metformin hydrochloride tablets, USP contain 500 mg, 625 mg, 750 mg, 850 mg, or 1000 mg of metformin hydrochloride, which is equivalent to 389.93 mg, 487.41 mg, 584.90 mg, 662.88 mg, 779.86 mg metformin base, respectively. Each tablet contains the inactive ingredients microcrystalline cellulose, copovidone, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, crospovidone, talc, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide, polyethylene glycol, and polysorbate."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Clomipramine hydrochloride capsules USP is indicated for the treatment of obsessions and compulsions in patients with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD). The obsessions or compulsions must cause marked distress, be time-consuming, or significantly interfere with social or occupational functioning, in order to meet the DSM-III-R (circa 1989) diagnosis of OCD. Obsessions are recurrent, persistent ideas, thoughts, images, or impulses that are egodystonic. Compulsions are repetitive, purposeful, and intentional behaviors performed in response to an obsession or in a stereotyped fashion, and are recognized by the person as excessive or unreasonable. The effectiveness of Clomipramine hydrochloride capsules for the treatment of OCD was demonstrated in multicenter, placebo-controlled, parallel-group studies, including two 10-week studies in adults and one 8-week study in children and adolescents 10 to 17 years of age. Patients in all studies had moderate-to-severe OCD (DSM-III), with mean baseline ratings on the Yale-Brown Obsessive Compulsive Scale (YBOCS) ranging from 26 to 28 and a mean baseline rating of 10 on the NIMH Clinical Global Obsessive Compulsive Scale (NIMH-OC). Patients taking CMI experienced a mean reduction of approximately 10 on the YBOCS, representing an average improvement on this scale of 35% to 42% among adults and 37% among children and adolescents. CMI-treated patients experienced a 3.5 unit decrement on the NIMH-OC. Patients on placebo showed no important clinical response on either scale. The maximum dose was 250 mg/day for most adults and 3 mg/kg/ day (up to 200 mg) for all children and adolescents. The effectiveness of Clomipramine hydrochloride capsules for long term use (i.e., for more than 10 weeks) has not been systematically evaluated in placebo-controlled trials. The physician who elects to use Clomipramine hydrochloride capsules for extended periods should periodically reevaluate the long-term usefulness of the drug for the individual patient (see DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION).",
"Description": "Clomipramine hydrochloride capsules USP is an antiobsessional drug that belongs to the class (dibenzazepine) of pharmacologic agents known as tricyclic antidepressants. Clomipramine hydrochloride is available as capsules of 25, 50, and 75 mg for oral administration. Clomipramine hydrochloride USP is 3-chloro-5-[3-(dimethylamino) propyl]-10,11-dihydro-5H-dibenz[b,f] azepine monohydrochloride, and its structural formula is. Clomipramine hydrochloride USP is a white or slightly yellow, crystalline powder. It is freely soluble in water, in methanol, and in methylene chloride, and insoluble in ethyl ether and in hexane. Inactive Ingredients. D&C Yellow 10, FD&C Red 40, FD&C Blue 1 (50 mg capsules only), gelatin, magnesium stearate, pregelatinized starch, and titanium dioxide. Each capsule is imprinted with black pharmaceutical ink which contains ammonia solution, butyl alcohol, dehydrated alcohol, black iron oxide, isopropyl alcohol, potassium hydroxide, propylene glycol, purified water and shellac. FDA approved dissolution test specifications differ from USP."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Simvastatin tablets are indicated: 1 To reduce the risk of total mortality by reducing risk of coronary heart disease death, non-fatal myocardial infarction and stroke, and the need for coronary and non-coronary revascularization procedures in adults with established coronary heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, peripheral vascular disease, and/or diabetes, who are at high risk of coronary heart disease events., 2 As an adjunct to diet to reduce low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C): In adults with primary hyperlipidemia. In adults and pediatric patients aged 10 years and older with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH)., 3 As an adjunct to other LDL-C-lowering therapies to reduce LDL-C in adults with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH)., 4 As an adjunct to diet for the treatment of adults with: Primary dysbetalipoproteinemia.Hypertriglyceridemia. .",
"Description": "Simvastatin is a prodrug of 3-hydoroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase inhibitor that is derived synthetically from a fermentation product of Aspergillus terreus. Simvastatin is butanoic acid, 2,2-dimethyl-,1,2,3,7,8,8a-hexahydro-3,7-dimethyl-8-[2-(tetrahydro-4-hydroxy-6-oxo-2H-pyran-2-yl)-ethyl]-1-naphthalenyl ester, [1S-[1α,3α,7β,8β (2S*,4S*),-8aβ]]. The molecular formula of simvastatin is C25H38O5 and its molecular weight is 418.57. Its structural formula is. Simvastatin USP is a white to off-white, nonhygroscopic, crystalline powder that is practically insoluble in water, and freely soluble in chloroform, methanol and ethanol. Simvastatin tablets USP are available for oral administration in strength of 5 mg, 10 mg, 20 mg, 40 mg or 80 mg. Each tablet contains following inactive ingredients: ascorbic acid, lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch (maize), hydroxypropyl cellulose, hypromellose, titanium dioxide, talc, citric acid monohydrate, isopropyl alcohol, magnesium stearate and butylated hydroxyanisole. Simvastatin 5 mg also contains ferric oxide yellow, simvastatin 10 mg and simvastatin 20 mg also contains ferric oxide red and ferric oxide yellow, simvastatin 40 mg and simvastatin 80 mg also contains ferric oxide red."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Citalopram tablets are indicated for the treatment of major depressive disorder (MDD) in adults [see Clinical Studies ( 14)] .",
"Description": "Citalopram tablets, USP contain citalopram, a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI). Citalopram hydrobromide is a racemic bicyclic phthalane structure and is designated (±)-1-(3-dimethylaminopropyl)-1-(4-fluorophenyl)-1,3dihydroisobenzofuran-5-carbonitrile hydrobromide with the following structural formula. The molecular formula is C 20H 22BrFN 2O and its molecular weight is 405.35. Citalopram hydrobromide, USP occurs as a fine, white to off-white powder. Citalopram hydrobromide is sparingly soluble in water and soluble in ethanol. Citalopram, USP 10 mg tablets are film-coated, round shaped tablets containing citalopram hydrobromide in strengths equivalent to 10 mg citalopram base. Citalopram hydrobromide, USP 20 mg and 40 mg tablets are film-coated, oval shaped, scored tablets containing citalopram hydrobromide, in strengths equivalent to 20 mg or 40 mg citalopram base. The tablets also contain the following inactive ingredients: copovidone, corn starch, croscarmellose sodium, ferric oxide red, ferric oxide yellow, glycerin, hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, and titanium dioxide."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Famotidine tablets are indicated in adult and pediatric patients 40 kg and above for the treatment of. active duodenal ulcer (DU). active gastric ulcer(GU). symptomatic non-erosive gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). erosive esophagitis due to GERD, diagnosed by biopsy. Famotidine tablets are indicated in adults for the: treatment of pathological hypersecretory conditions (e.g., Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome, multiple endocrine neoplasias). reduction of the risk of duodenal ulcer recurrence.",
"Description": "The active ingredient in Famotidine tablets is a histamine-2 (H2) receptor antagonist. Famotidine is N’-(aminosulfonyl)-3-[[[2-[(diaminomethylene)amino]-4-thiazolyl]methyl]thio]propanimidamide. The empirical formula of famotidine is C 8H 15N 7O 2S 3and its molecular weight is 337.43. Its structural formula is:. Each Famotidine tablet for oral administration contains either 20 mg or 40 mg of famotidine and the following inactive ingredients: hydroxypropyl cellulose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, polydextrose, polyethylene glycol, pregelatinized starch (modified corn starch), sodium starch glycolate, talc, titanium dioxide and triacetin. Famotidine is a white to pale yellow crystalline compound that is freely soluble in glacial acetic acid, slightly soluble in methanol, very slightly soluble in water, and practically insoluble in ethanol."

"Description": "Sertraline hydrochloride tablets, USP contain sertraline hydrochloride, an SSRI. Sertraline hydrochloride, USP has a molecular weight of 342.7 and has the following chemical name: (1S-cis)-4-(3,4-dichlorophenyl)-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-N-methyl-1-naphthalenamine hydrochloride. The empirical formula C 17H 17NCl 2HCl is represented by the following structural formula:. Sertraline hydrochloride, USP is a white crystalline powder that is slightly soluble in water and isopropyl alcohol, and sparingly soluble in ethanol. Sertraline hydrochloride tablets, USP for oral administration contain 27.98 mg, 55.96 mg and 111.92 mg sertraline hydrochloride equivalent to 25, 50 and 100 mg of sertraline and the following inactive ingredients: croscarmellose sodium, dibasic calcium phosphate dihydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone, and purified water. Additionally, the 25 mg tablet includes Opadry 12F21129 Green containing D&C yellow #10 aluminum lake, FD&C blue #2 aluminum lake, hypromellose, polyethylene glycol, polysorbate 80, and titanium dioxide. The 50 mg tablet includes Opadry 12F20984 Blue containing FD&C blue #2 aluminum lake, hypromellose, polyethylene glycol, polysorbate 80, and titanium dioxide. The 100 mg tablet includes Opadry 12F22609 Yellow containing black iron oxide, hypromellose, polyethylene glycol, polysorbate 80, titanium dioxide, and yellow iron oxide. FDA approved dissolution test specifications differ from USP."

"Description": "Pregabalin is described chemically as (S)-3-(aminomethyl)-5-methylhexanoic acid. The molecular formula is C8H17NO2 and the molecular weight is 159.23. The chemical structure of pregabalin is. Pregabalin is a white to off-white, crystalline solid with a pKa1 of 4.2 and a pKa2 of 10.6. It is freely soluble in water and both basic and acidic aqueous solutions. The log of the partition coefficient (n-octanol/0.05M phosphate buffer) at pH 7.4 is – 1.35. Pregabalin capsules are administered orally and are supplied as imprinted hard-shell capsules containing 25 mg, 50 mg, 75 mg, 100 mg, 150 mg, 200 mg, 225 mg, and 300 mg of pregabalin, along with co-processed starch and talc as inactive ingredients. The capsule shell for 25 mg, 50 mg & 150 mg contains: gelatin, purified water, sodium lauryl sulfate and titanium dioxide. The capsule shell for 75 mg, 100 mg, 200 mg, 225 mg & 300 mg contains: FD &C Blue 1, FD& C Red 40, FD& C Yellow 6, gelatin, purified water, sodium lauryl sulfate and titanium dioxide. The 25 mg, 50 mg, 75 mg, 100 mg, 150 mg, 200 mg, 225 mg, and 300 mg capsule imprinting ink contains black iron oxide, potassium hydroxide, propylene glycol, purified water and shellac."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Metoprolol succinate extended-release tablets, are a beta-adrenergic blocker indicated for the treatment of: 1 Hypertension, to lower blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of fatal and non-fatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and myocardial infarctions. ( 1.1) , 2 Angina Pectoris. ( 1.2) , 3 Heart Failure, to reduce the risk of cardiovascular mortality and heartfailure hospitalizations in patients with heart failure ( 1.3) .",
"Description": "Metoprolol succinate, USP is a beta1-selective (cardioselective) adrenoceptor blocking agent, for oral administration, available as extended-release tablets. Metoprolol succinate extended-release tablets, USP have been formulated to provide a controlled and predictable release of metoprolol for once-daily administration. The tablets comprise a multiple unit system containing metoprolol succinate, USP in a multitude of controlled release pellets. Each pellet acts as a separate drug delivery unit and is designed to deliver metoprolol continuously over the dosage interval. The tablets contain 23.75, 47.5, 95 and 190 mg of metoprolol succinate, USP equivalent to 25, 50, 100 and 200 mg of metoprolol tartrate, USP, respectively. Its chemical name is (±)-1-(isopropylamino)-3-[p-(2-methoxyethyl) phenoxy]-2-propanol succinate (2:1) (salt). Its structural formula is. Metoprolol succinate, USP is a white to off white crystalline powder with a molecular weight of 652.8. It is freely soluble in water; soluble in methanol; sparingly soluble in alcohol and slightly soluble in isopropyl alcohol. Inactive ingredients: acetyl tributyl citrate, crospovidone, ethylcellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, hypromellose, isopropyl alcohol, methylene chloride, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, polysorbate 80, silicified microcrystalline cellulose, sodium stearyl fumarate and titanium dioxide. Colorcoat glow is used as a polishing agent."

"Description": "Fluoxetine capsules, USP are a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor for oral administration. It is designated (±)-N-methyl-3-phenyl-3- [(α,α,α-trifluoro-p-tolyl)oxy]propylamine hydrochloride and has the empirical formula of C 17H 18F 3NOHCl. Its molecular weight is 345.79. The structural formula is:. Fluoxetine hydrochloride, USP is a white to off-white crystalline powder with a solubility of 14 mg/mL in water. Each capsule contains fluoxetine hydrochloride equivalent to 10 mg (32.3 μmol), 20 mg (64.7 μmol), or 40 mg (129.3 μmol) of fluoxetine. The capsules are printed with edible ink containing black iron oxide, potassium hydroxide, propylene glycol, shellac and strong ammonia solution."

"Description": "Doxazosin mesylate is a quinazoline compound that is a selective inhibitor of the alpha 1 subtype of alpha-adrenergic receptors. The chemical name of doxazosin mesylate is 1-(4-amino-6,7-dimethoxy-2-quinazolinyl)-4-(1,4-benzodioxan-2-ylcarbonyl) piperazine methanesulfonate. The empirical formula for doxazosin mesylate is C 23H 25N 5O 5 · CH 4O 3S and the molecular weight is 547.6. It has the following structure:. Doxazosin mesylate is freely soluble in dimethylsulfoxide, soluble in dimethylformamide, slightly soluble in methanol, ethanol, and water (0.8% at 25°C), and very slightly soluble in acetone and methylene chloride. Doxazosin mesylate is available as colored tablets for oral use and contains doxazosin mesylate equivalent to 1 mg, 2 mg, 4 mg, and 8 mg of doxazosin as the free base. "IndicationAndUsage": "Carefully consider the potential benefits and risks of indomethacin capsules, USP and other treatment options before deciding to use indomethacin. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration consistent with individual patient treatment goals ( see Warnings: Gastrointestinal Bleeding, Ulceration, and Perforation). Indomethacin has been found effective in active stages of the following. 1. Moderate to severe rheumatoid arthritis including acute flares of chronic disease. 2. Moderate to severe ankylosing spondylitis. 3. Moderate to severe osteoarthritis. 4. Acute painful shoulder (bursitis and/or tendinitis). 5. Acute gouty arthritis.",
"Description": "Indomethacin capsules, USP for oral administration contains 25 mg of indomethacin. Each capsule contains the following inactive ingredients: corn starch, croscarmellose sodium, lactose monohydrate, polyethylene glycol 4000, stearic acid, and talc. The capsule shell contains D&C Yellow #10, FD&C Green #3, gelatin, and titanium dioxide. The black imprinting ink contains alcohol, black iron oxide, D&C Yellow #10, FD&C Blue #1, FD&C Blue #2, FD&C Red #40, ferrosoferric oxide, n-butyl alcohol, propylene glycol, and shellac glaze. Indomethacin is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory indole derivative designated chemically as 1 – (4-chlorobenzoyl)-5-methoxy-2-methyl-1 H-indole-3-acetic acid. The structural formula is. Indomethacin is practically insoluble in water and sparingly soluble in alcohol. It has a pKa of 4.5 and is stable in neutral or slightly acidic media and decomposes in strong alkali. The molecular weight of indomethacin is 357.79 and its molecular formula is C 19H 16C 1NO 4."
