"IndicationAndUsage": "Gabapentin tablets USP are indicated for the management of postherpetic neuralgia in adults.",
"Description": "Gabapentin tablets USP are supplied as oval shaped, film-coated, biconvex scored tablets containing 600 mg and 800 mg of gabapentin USP. The inactive ingredients for the tablets are corn starch, copovidone, poloxamer 407, magnesium stearate, polyethylene glycol, talc, hypromellose, titanium dioxide, macrogol, polysorbate 80 and purified water. Gabapentin USP is described as 1-(aminomethyl) cyclohexaneacetic acid with a molecular formula of C9H17NO2 and a molecular weight of 171.24. The structural formula of gabapentin is. Gabapentin USP is a white to off-white crystalline solid with a pKa1 of 3.7 and a pKa2 of 10.7. It is freely soluble in water and both basic and acidic aqueous solutions. The log of the partition coefficient (n-octanol/0.05M phosphate buffer) at pH 7.4 is –1.25."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Pravastatin sodium tablets are indicated: 1 To reduce the risk of myocardial infarction, myocardial revascularization procedures, and cardiovascular mortality in adults with elevated low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) without clinically evident coronary heart disease (CHD)., 2 To reduce the risk of coronary death, myocardial infarction, myocardial revascularization procedures, stroke or transient ischemic attack, and slow the progression of coronary atherosclerosis in adults with clinically evident CHD., 3 As an adjunct to diet to reduce LDL-C in adults with primary hyperlipidemia., 4 As an adjunct to diet to reduce LDL-C in pediatric patients ages 8 years and older with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH)., 5 As an adjunct to diet for the treatment of adults with: Primary dysbetalipoproteinemia.Hypertriglyceridemia.",
"Description": "Pravastatin sodium, USP is a statin, an inhibitor of 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl- coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase. Pravastatin sodium, USP is designated chemically as 1-Naphthalene-heptanoic acid, 1,2,6,7,8,8a-hexahydro-β,δ,6-trihydroxy-2-methyl-8-(2-methyl-1-oxobutoxy)-,monosodium salt, [1S-[1α(βS*,δS*),2α,6α,8β(R*),8aα]]-. Structural formula. Pravastatin sodium is white to yellowish white, hygroscopic powder. It is freely soluble in water and methanol, soluble in anhydrous ethanol, practically insoluble in chloroform and acetonitrile. Pravastatin sodium tablets, USP are available for oral administration as 10 mg, 20 mg, 40 mg, and 80 mg tablets. Inactive ingredients include: croscarmellose sodium, lactose monohydrate, magnesium oxide, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose and povidone. The 10 mg tablet also contains ferric oxide red, the 20 mg and 80 mg tablets also contain ferric oxide yellow, and the 40 mg tablet also contains D & C yellow No. 10 aluminum lake & FD & C blue No. l aluminum lake."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Herpes Zoster Infections: Acyclovir capsules, USP and acyclovir tablets, USP are indicated for the acute treatment of herpes zoster (shingles). Genital Herpes: Acyclovir capsules, USP and acyclovir tablets, USP are indicated for the treatment of initial episodes and the management of recurrent episodes of genital herpes. Chickenpox: Acyclovir capsules, USP and acyclovir tablets, USP are indicated for the treatment of chickenpox (varicella).",
"Description": "Acyclovir is a synthetic nucleoside analogue active against herpesviruses. Acyclovir capsules, USP and acyclovir tablets, USP are formulations for oral administration. Each capsule of acyclovir contains 200 mg of acyclovir, USP and the inactive ingredients lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, and pregelatinized starch. The capsule shell consists of black iron oxide, edible printing ink, gelatin, and titanium dioxide. Each 800 mg tablet of acyclovir contains 800 mg of acyclovir, USP and the inactive ingredients colloidal silicone dioxide, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch, and sodium starch glycolate. Each 400 mg tablet of acyclovir contains 400 mg of acyclovir, USP and the inactive ingredients colloidal silicone dioxide, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch, and sodium starch glycolate. Acyclovir, USP is a white crystalline powder with the molecular formula C8H11N5O3 and a molecular weight of 225. The maximum solubility in water at 37°C is 2.5 mg/mL. The pka’s of acyclovir are 2.27 and 9.25. The chemical name of acyclovir is 2-amino-1, 9-dihydro-9-[(2-hydroxyethoxy)methyl]-6H-purin-6-one; it has the following structural formula."

"IndicationAndUsage": "BiDil is a combination of isosorbide dinitrate, a nitrate vasodilator, and hydralazine hydrochloride, an arteriolar vasodilator, indicated for: : 1 the treatment of heart failure as an adjunct therapy to standard therapy in self-identified black patients to improve survival, prolong time to hospitalization for heart failure and to improve patient-reported functional status (1.1).",
"Description": "BiDil is a fixed-dose combination of isosorbide dinitrate, a vasodilator with effects on both arteries and veins, and hydralazine hydrochloride, a predominantly arterial vasodilator. Isosorbide dinitrate is described chemically as 1,4:3,6-dianhydro-D-glucitol dinitrate and its structural formula is. Isosorbide dinitrate is a white to off-white, crystalline powder with the empirical formula C6H8N2O8 and a molecular weight of 236.14. It is freely soluble in organic solvents such as alcohol, chloroform and ether, but is only sparingly soluble in water. Hydralazine hydrochloride is described chemically as 1-hydrazinophthalazine monohydrochloride, and its structural formula is:. Hydralazine hydrochloride is a white to off-white, crystalline powder with the empirical formula C8H8N4∙HCl and a molecular weight of 196.64. It is soluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol, and very slightly soluble in ether. Each BiDil Tablet for oral administration contains 20 mg of isosorbide dinitrate and 37.5 mg of hydralazine hydrochloride. The inactive ingredients in BiDil tablets include: anhydrous lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycolate, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, FD&C Yellow No. 6 aluminum lake, polyethylene glycol, titanium dioxide, polysorbate 80."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Levetiracetam is indicated for adjunctive therapy in the treatment of: : 1 Partial onset seizures in patients one month of age and older with epilepsy (1.1) , 2 Myoclonic seizures in patients 12 years of age and older with juvenile myoclonic epilepsy (1.2) , 3 Primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures in patients 6 years of age and older with idiopathic generalized epilepsy (1.3) .",
"Description": "Levetiracetam is an antiepileptic drug available as 250 mg (yellow), 500 mg (orange), 750 mg (blue), and 1000 mg (white to off-white) tablets for oral administration. The chemical name of levetiracetam USP, a single enantiomer, is (-)-(S)-α-ethyl-2-oxo-1-pyrrolidine acetamide, its molecular formula is C8H14N2O2 and its molecular weight is 170.21. Levetiracetam, USP is chemically unrelated to existing antiepileptic drugs (AEDs). It has the following structural formula. Levetiracetam USP, is a white to off-white crystalline powder with a faint odor and a bitter taste. It is very soluble in water (104.0 g/100 mL). It is freely soluble in chloroform (65.3 g/100 mL) and in methanol (53.6 g/100 mL), soluble in ethanol (16.5 g/100 mL), sparingly soluble in acetonitrile (5.7 g/100 mL) and practically insoluble in n-hexane. (Solubility limits are expressed as g/100 mL solvent.) Levetiracetam tablets contain the labeled amount of levetiracetam USP. Inactive ingredients: corn starch, povidone K30, colloidal silicon dioxide, talc, magnesium stearate, titanium dioxide, polyethylene glycol 3350, lecithin, polyvinyl alcohol, and additional agents listed below: 250 mg tablets: yellow iron oxide 500 mg tablets: iron oxide red, FD&C Yellow #6 aluminum lake 750 mg tablets: FD&C Blue #2 aluminum lake Meets USP Dissolution Method: Test 3."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Droxidopa capsules are indicated for the treatment of orthostatic dizziness, lightheadedness, or the “feeling that you are about to black out” in adult patients with symptomatic neurogenic orthostatic hypotension (nOH) caused by primary autonomic failure (Parkinson's disease [PD], multiple system atrophy, and pure autonomic failure), dopamine beta-hydroxylase deficiency, and non-diabetic autonomic neuropathy. Effectiveness beyond 2 weeks of treatment has not been established. The continued effectiveness of droxidopa capsules should be assessed periodically.",
"Description": "Droxidopa capsules contain droxidopa, which is a synthetic amino acid precursor of norepinephrine, for oral administration. Chemically, droxidopa is (2S,3R)-2-amino-3-(3,4-dihdroxyphenyl)-3- hydroxypropanoic acid (or) L-threo-3,4- dihydroxy phenyl serine. It has the following structural formula. Droxidopa is a white to light brown color powder. It is soluble in 1N hydrochloric acid, slightly soluble in water and practically insoluble in ethanol (99.5%). It has a molecular weight of 213.19 and a molecular formula of C 9H 11NO 5. Droxidopa capsules also contain the following inactive ingredients: corn starch, mannitol, and magnesium stearate. The capsule shell is printed with black ink. The black ink contain black iron oxide, potassium hydroxide, propylene glycol, shellac and strong ammonia solution. The capsule shell contains gelatin and titanium dioxide, in addition 100 mg and 200 mg capsule shells contain FD&C Blue 1 and FD&C Red 3."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Baclofen is useful for the alleviation of signs and symptoms of spasticity resulting from multiple sclerosis, particularly for the relief of flexor spasms and concomitant pain, clonus, and muscular rigidity. Patients should have reversible spasticity so that baclofen treatment will aid in restoring residual function. Baclofen may also be of some value in patients with spinal cord injuries and other spinal cord diseases. Baclofen is not indicated in the treatment of skeletal muscle spasm resulting from rheumatic disorders. "Description": "Baclofen USP is a muscle relaxant and antispastic, available as 10 mg and 20 mg tablets for oral administration. Its chemical name is 4-amino-3-(4-chlorophenyl)-butanoic acid. Baclofen USP is a white to off-white, odorless or practically odorless crystalline powder. It is slightly soluble in water, very slightly soluble in methanol, and insoluble in chloroform. The structural formula is represented below. Baclofen Tablets, USP 10 mg and 20 mg contain the following inactive ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, crospovidone, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose and pregelatinized starch."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Simvastatin tablets are indicated: To reduce the risk of total mortality by reducing risk of coronary heart disease death, non-fatal myocardial infarction and stroke, and the need for coronary and non-coronary revascularization procedures in adults with established coronary heart disease, cerebrovascular disease, peripheral vascular disease, and/or diabetes, who are at high risk of coronary heart disease events. As an adjunct to diet to reduce low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C): o In adults with primary hyperlipidemia. o In adults and pediatric patients aged 10 years and older with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH). As an adjunct to other LDL-C-lowering therapies to reduce LDL-C in adults with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH). As an adjunct to diet for the treatment of adults with: o Primary dysbetalipoproteinemia. o Hypertriglyceridemia.",
"Description": "Simvastatin is a prodrug of 3-hydoroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG-CoA) reductase inhibitor that is derived synthetically from a fermentation product of Aspergillus terreus. Simvastatin is butanoic acid, 2,2-dimethyl-,1,2,3,7,8,8a-hexahydro-3,7-dimethyl-8-[2-(tetrahydro-4-hydroxy-6-oxo-2H-pyran-2-yl)-ethyl]-1-naphthalenyl ester, [1S-[1α,3α,7β,8β(2S *,4S *),-8aβ]]. The molecular formula of simvastatin is C 25H 38O 5and its molecular weight is 418.57. Its structural formula is:. Simvastatin, USP is a white to off-white, nonhygroscopic, crystalline powder that is practically insoluble in water, and freely soluble in chloroform, methanol and ethanol. Simvastatin tablets, USP for oral use contain 5 mg, 10 mg, 20 mg, 40 mg or 80 mg of simvastatin, USP and the following inactive ingredients: ascorbic acid, citric acid monohydrate, hydroxypropyl cellulose, hypromellose, iron oxide yellow (5 mg), lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized maize starch, talc, and titanium dioxide. Butylated hydroxyanisole is added as a preservative."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Nifedical XL® tablets are indicated for the management of vasospastic angina confirmed by any of the following criteria: 1) classical pattern of angina at rest accompanied by ST segment elevation, 2) angina or coronary artery spasm provoked by ergonovine, or 3) angiographically demonstrated coronary artery spasm. In those patients who have had angiography, the presence of significant fixed obstructive disease is not incompatible with the diagnosis of vasospastic angina, provided that the above criteria are satisfied. Nifedical XL® tablets may also be used where the clinical presentation suggests a possible vasospastic component but where vasospasm has not been confirmed, e.g., where pain has a variable threshold on exertion or in unstable angina where electrocardiographic findings are compatible with intermittent vasospasm, or when angina is refractory to nitrates and/or adequate doses of beta-blockers.",
"Description": "Nifedipine is a drug belonging to a class of pharmacological agents known as the calcium channel blockers. Nifedipine is 3,5-pyridinedicarboxylic acid, 1,4-dihydro-2,6-dimethyl-4-(2-nitrophenyl)-, dimethyl ester, C17H18N2O6, and has the structural formula. Nifedipine is a yellow crystalline substance, practically insoluble in water but soluble in ethanol. It has a molecular weight of 346.3. Each extended-release tablet, formulated as a once-a-day controlled release tablet for oral administration, delivers 30 or 60 mg of nifedipine. In addition, each extended-release tablet contains the following inactive ingredients: anhydrous lactose, colloidal silicon dioxide, ethylcellulose, hydroxyethyl cellulose, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, methacrylic acid copolymer type A, methacrylic acid copolymer type B, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, red ferric oxide, sodium lauryl sulfate, talc and titanium dioxide. Nifedipine Extended-release Tablets meet USP Dissolution Test 3."

"Description": "Metoprolol succinate, is a beta 1-selective (cardioselective) adrenoceptor blocking agent, for oral administration, available as extended-release tablets. Metoprolol succinate extended-release tablets, USP have been formulated to provide a controlled and predictable release of metoprolol for once-daily administration. The tablets comprise a multiple unit system containing metoprolol succinate in a multitude of controlled release pellets. Each pellet acts as a separate drug delivery unit and is designed to deliver metoprolol continuously over the dosage interval. The tablets contain 23.75 mg and 47.5 mg of metoprolol succinate equivalent to 25 mg and 50 mg of metoprolol tartrate, USP, respectively. Its chemical name is (±)1- (isopropyl amino)-3-[p-(2-methoxyethyl) phenoxy]-2-propanol succinate (2:1) (salt). Its structural formula is:. Metoprolol succinate, USP is a white to off white powder with a molecular weight of 652.8. It is freely soluble in water and soluble in methanol. Inactive ingredients: acetyl tributyl citrate, colloidal silicon dioxide, croscarmellose sodium, ethyl cellulose, hydrogenated vegetable oil, hydroxypropyl cellulose, hypromellose, methylene chloride, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, sodium stearyl fumarate, talc and titanium dioxide."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Olmesartan medoxomil is indicated for the treatment of hypertension in adults and children six years of age and older, to lower blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and myocardial infarctions. These benefits have been seen in controlled trials of antihypertensive drugs from a wide variety of pharmacologic classes including the class to which this drug principally belongs. There are no controlled trials demonstrating risk reduction with olmesartan medoxomil tablets. Control of high blood pressure should be part of comprehensive cardiovascular risk management, including, as appropriate, lipid control, diabetes management, antithrombotic therapy, smoking cessation, exercise, and limited sodium intake. Montelukast sodium is described chemically as [ R-( E)]-1-[[[1-[3-[2-(7-chloro-2-quinolinyl)ethenyl]phenyl]-3-[2-(1-hydroxy-1-methylethyl)phenyl]propyl]thio]methyl]cyclopropaneacetic acid, monosodium salt. The empirical formula is C 35H 35ClNNaO 3S, and its molecular weight is 608.18. The structural formula is:. Montelukast sodium is a hygroscopic, optically active, white to off-white powder. Montelukast sodium is freely soluble in ethanol, methanol, and water and practically insoluble in acetonitrile. "IndicationAndUsage": "Metformin hydrochloride tablets are indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults and pediatric patients 10 years of age and older with type 2 diabetes mellitus.",
"Description": "Metformin hydrochloride tablets, USP contain the antihyperglycemic agent metformin, which is a biguanide, in the form of monohydrochloride. The chemical name of metformin hydrochloride is N,N-dimethylimidodicarbonimidic diamide hydrochloride. The structural formula is as shown below:. Metformin hydrochloride, USP is a white to off-white crystalline compound with a molecular formula of C4H11N5 HCl and a molecular weight of 165.63. Metformin hydrochloride, USP is freely soluble in water and is practically insoluble in acetone, ether, and chloroform. The pKa of metformin is 12.4. The pH of a 1% aqueous solution of metformin hydrochloride is 6.68. Metformin hydrochloride tablets, USP contain 500 mg, 850 mg, or 1000 mg of metformin hydrochloride USP. Each tablet contains the inactive ingredients povidone and magnesium stearate. In addition, the coating for the 500 mg, 850 mg, and 1000 mg contains hypromellose and polyethylene glycol."

"Description": "Lamotrigine, an AED of the phenyltriazine class, is chemically unrelated to existing AEDs. Lamotrigine, USP is a white to pale cream-colored powder and has a pKa of 5.7. To reduce the risk of major adverse cardiovascular (CV) events (CV death, nonfatal myocardial infarction, nonfatal stroke, or an arterial revascularization procedure) in adults without established coronary heart disease who are at increased risk of CV disease based on age, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP) ≥2 mg/L, and at least one additional CV risk factor.
