"IndicationAndUsage": "Hypertension Quinapril tablets, USP are indicated for the treatment of hypertension, to lower blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and myocardial infarctions. These benefits have been seen in controlled trials of antihypertensive drugs from a wide variety of pharmacologic classes including the class to which this drug principally belongs. There are no controlled trials demonstrating risk reduction with quinapril tablets, USP. Control of high blood pressure should be part of comprehensive cardiovascular risk management, including, as appropriate, lipid control, diabetes management, antithrombotic therapy, smoking cessation, exercise, and limited sodium intake. Many patients will require more than one drug to achieve blood pressure goals. For specific advice on goals and management, see published guidelines, such as those of the National High Blood Pressure Education Program's Joint National Committee on Prevention, Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Pressure (JNC). Numerous antihypertensive drugs, from a variety of pharmacologic classes and with different mechanisms of action, have been shown in randomized controlled trials to reduce cardiovascular morbidity and mortality, and it can be concluded that it is blood pressure reduction, and not some other pharmacologic property of the drugs, that is largely responsible for those benefits. The largest and most consistent cardiovascular outcome benefit has been a reduction in the risk of stroke, but reductions in myocardial infarction and cardiovascular mortality also have been seen regularly. Elevated systolic or diastolic pressure causes increased cardiovascular risk, and the absolute risk increase per mmHg is greater at higher blood pressures, so that even modest reductions of severe hypertension can provide substantial benefit. Relative risk reduction from blood pressure reduction is similar across populations with varying absolute risk, so the absolute benefit is greater in patients who are at higher risk independent of their hypertension (for example, patients with diabetes or hyperlipidemia), and such patients would be expected to benefit from more aggressive treatment to a lower blood pressure goal. Some antihypertensive drugs have smaller blood pressure effects (as monotherapy) in black patients, and many antihypertensive drugs have additional approved indications and effects (e.g., on angina, heart failure, or diabetic kidney disease). These considerations may guide selection of therapy. Quinapril tablets, USP may be used alone or in combination with thiazide diuretics. Heart Failure Quinapril tablets, USP are indicated in the management of heart failure as adjunctive therapy when added to conventional therapy including diuretics and/or digitalis. In using quinapril tablets, USP consideration should be given to the fact that another ACE inhibitor, captopril, has caused agranulocytosis, particularly in patients with renal impairment or collagen vascular disease. "Description": "Quinapril hydrochloride is the hydrochloride salt of quinapril, the ethyl ester of a non-sulfhydryl, angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, quinaprilat.Quinapril hydrochloride is chemically described as [3S-[2[R*(R*)], 3R*]]-2-[2-[[1-(ethoxycarbonyl)-3-phenylpropyl]amino]-1-oxopropyl]-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-3-isoquinolinecarboxylic acid, monohydrochloride. Its molecular formula is C25H30N2O5HCl and its structural formula is:. Quinapril hydrochloride USP is a white to off-white powder, with a pink cast at times that is freely soluble in aqueous solvents. Quinapril tablets, USP contain 5 mg (equivalent to 5.416 mg quinapril hydrochloride), 10 mg (equivalent to 10.832 mg quinapril hydrochloride), 20 mg (equivalent to 21.664 mg quinapril hydrochloride), or 40 mg (equivalent to 43.328 mg quinapril hydrochloride) of quinapril for oral administration. Each tablet also contains colloidal silicon dioxide, crospovidone, hydroxypropyl cellulose, hypromellose, iron oxide red, lactose monohydrate, magnesium carbonate, magnesium stearate, polyethylene glycol, povidone, and titanium dioxide."

Elevated systolic or diastolic pressure causes increased cardiovascular risk, and the absolute risk increase per mmHg is greater at higher blood pressures, so that even modest reductions of severe hypertension can provide substantial benefit. Relative risk reduction from blood pressure reduction is similar across populations with varying absolute risk, so the absolute benefit is greater in patients who are at higher risk independent of their hypertension (for example, patients with diabetes or hyperlipidemia), and such patients would be expected to benefit from more aggressive treatment to a lower blood pressure goal. Some antihypertensive drugs have smaller blood pressure effects (as monotherapy) in black patients, and many antihypertensive drugs have additional approved indications and effects (e.g., on angina, heart failure, or diabetic kidney disease). These considerations may guide selection of therapy. Quinapril tablets, USP may be used alone or in combination with thiazide diuretics. Heart Failure Quinapril tablets, USP are indicated in the management of heart failure as adjunctive therapy when added to conventional therapy including diuretics and/or digitalis. In using quinapril tablets, USP consideration should be given to the fact that another ACE inhibitor, captopril, has caused agranulocytosis, particularly in patients with renal impairment or collagen vascular disease. Available data are insufficient to show that quinapril tablets, USP do not have a similar risk (see WARNINGS). Angioedema in black patients: Black patients receiving ACE inhibitor monotherapy have been reported to have a higher incidence of angioedema compared to non-blacks. It should also be noted that in controlled clinical trials ACE inhibitors have an effect on blood pressure that is less in black patients than in non-blacks.",
"Description": "Quinapril hydrochloride is the hydrochloride salt of quinapril, the ethyl ester of a non-sulfhydryl, angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitor, quinaprilat.Quinapril hydrochloride is chemically described as [3S-[2[R*(R*)], 3R*]]-2-[2-[[1-(ethoxycarbonyl)-3-phenylpropyl]amino]-1-oxopropyl]-1,2,3,4-tetrahydro-3-isoquinolinecarboxylic acid, monohydrochloride. Its molecular formula is C25H30N2O5HCl and its structural formula is:. Quinapril hydrochloride USP is a white to off-white powder, with a pink cast at times that is freely soluble in aqueous solvents. Quinapril tablets, USP contain 5 mg (equivalent to 5.416 mg quinapril hydrochloride), 10 mg (equivalent to 10.832 mg quinapril hydrochloride), 20 mg (equivalent to 21.664 mg quinapril hydrochloride), or 40 mg (equivalent to 43.328 mg quinapril hydrochloride) of quinapril for oral administration. Each tablet also contains colloidal silicon dioxide, crospovidone, hydroxypropyl cellulose, hypromellose, iron oxide red, lactose monohydrate, magnesium carbonate, magnesium stearate, polyethylene glycol, povidone, and titanium dioxide."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Levonorgestrel Tablet, 1.5 mg is a progestin-only emergency contraceptive indicated for prevention of pregnancy following unprotected intercourse or a known or suspected contraceptive failure. To obtain optimal efficacy, the tablet should be taken as soon as possible within 72 hours of intercourse. Levonorgestrel Tablet is available only by prescription for women younger than age 17 years, and available over the counter for women 17 years and older. "IndicationAndUsage": "Topiramate tablets are indicated as initial monotherapy in patients 10 years of age and older with partial onset or primary generalized tonic-clonic seizures. Effectiveness was demonstrated in a controlled trial in patients with epilepsy who had no more than 2 seizures in the 3 months prior to enrollment. Safety and effectiveness in patients who were converted to monotherapy from a previous regimen of other anticonvulsant drugs have not been established in controlled trials.",
"Description": "Topiramate is a sulfamate-substituted monosaccharide. Topiramate tablets are available as 25 mg, 50 mg, 100 mg, and 200 mg circular tablets for oral administration. Topiramate is a white crystalline powder with a bitter taste. Topiramate USP is most soluble in alkaline solutions containing sodium hydroxide or sodium phosphate and having a pH of 9 to 10. It is freely soluble in acetone, chloroform, dimethylsulfoxide, and ethanol. The solubility in water is 9.8 mg/mL. Its saturated solution has a pH of 6.3. Topiramate has the molecular formula C12H21NO8S and a molecular weight of 339.37. Topiramate is designated chemically as 2,3:4,5-Di-O-isopropylidene-β-D-fructopyranose sulfamate and has the following structural formula. Topiramate tablets contain the following inactive ingredients: anhydrous lactose, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch, sodium starch glycolate, magnesium stearate, purified water, polyvinyl alcohol, titanium dioxide, polyethylene glycol and talc. In addition, individual tablets contain. 50 mg tablets: iron oxide yellow100 mg tablets: iron oxide yellow, and D&C Yellow # 10 Aluminum Lake200 mg tablets: iron oxide red, lecithin (soya), and iron oxide black."

"Description": "PONVORY (ponesimod) is a sphingosine 1-phosphate receptor modulator. The chemical name for ponesimod is (2Z,5Z)-5-[3-chloro-4-[(2R)-2,3- dihydroxypropoxy]benzylidene]-3-(2-methylphenyl)-2-(propylimino)-1,3-thiazolidin-4-one. It has one chiral center with absolute configuration of (R). Its molecular formula is C23H25ClN2O4S and its molecular weight is 460.97 g/mol. Ponesimod has the following structural formula. Ponesimod is a white to light yellowish powder that is practically insoluble or insoluble in water. PONVORY® (ponesimod) tablets are provided as 2 mg, 3 mg, 4 mg, 5 mg, 6 mg, 7 mg, 8 mg, 9 mg, 10 mg, and 20 mg film-coated tablets for oral administration. Each tablet contains the following inactive ingredients: croscarmellose sodium, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, povidone K30, silica colloidal anhydrous, and sodium lauryl sulfate. Each tablet coating contains ferrosoferric oxide (included in 4 mg, 5 mg, 8 mg, and 9 mg film-coated tablets), hydroxypropyl methylcellulose 2910, iron oxide red (included in 3 mg, 4 mg, 7 mg, 8 mg, 9 mg, and 10 mg film-coated tablets), iron oxide yellow (included in 3 mg, 5 mg, 7 mg, 9 mg, 10 mg, and 20 mg film-coated tablets), lactose monohydrate, polyethylene glycol 3350, titanium dioxide, and triacetin."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Zolpidem tartrate tablets are indicated for the short-term treatment of insomnia characterized by difficulties with sleep initiation. Zolpidem tartrate tablets have been shown to decrease sleep latency for up to 35 days in controlled clinical studies [see Clinical Studies (14)]. The clinical trials performed in support of efficacy were 4 to 5 weeks in duration with the final formal assessments of sleep latency performed at the end of treatment.",
"Description": "Zolpidem tartrate is a gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) A agonist of the imidazopyridine class and is available in 5 mg and 10 mg strength tablets for oral administration. Chemically, zolpidem is N,N,6-trimethyl-2-p-tolylimidazo[1,2-a] pyridine-3-acetamide L-(+)-tartrate (2:1). It has the following structure. Zolpidem tartrate is a white to off-white crystalline powder that is sparingly soluble in water, alcohol, and propylene glycol. It has a molecular weight of 764.88. Each zolpidem tartrate tablet includes the following inactive ingredients: hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycolate, and titanium dioxide; the 5-mg tablet also contains FD&C Blue #2 Aluminum Lake, FD&C Red #40 Aluminum Lake, polyethylene glycol, polyvinyl alcohol, and talc; the 10-mg tablet also contains stearic acid and triacetin."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Saxagliptin and metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets are indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus [see Clinical Studies (14)].",
"Description": "Saxagliptin and metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets contain two oral antihyperglycemic medications used in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus: saxagliptin and metformin HCl. Saxagliptin. Saxagliptin is an orally active inhibitor of the dipeptidyl-peptidase-4 (DPP4) enzyme. Saxagliptin monohydrate is described chemically as (1S,3S,5S)-2-[(2S)-2-Amino-2-(3-hydroxytricyclo[3.3.1.13,7]dec-1-yl)acetyl]-2-azabicyclo[3.1.0]hexane-3-carbonitrile, monohydrate or (1S,3S,5S)-2-[(2S)-2-Amino-2-(3-hydroxyadamantan-1-yl)acetyl]-2-azabicyclo[3.1.0]hexane-3-carbonitrile monohydrate. The molecular formula is C18H25N3O2H2O and the molecular weight is 333.43. The structural formula is. Saxagliptin monohydrate is a white to light yellow or light brown, non-hygroscopic powder. It is very soluble at room temperate in methanol, freely soluble in ethanol, soluble in acetone, sparingly soluble in ethyl acetate and water, and slightly soluble in 1-octanol. Metformin Hydrochloride, USP. Metformin HCl (N,N-dimethyl imido-dicarbonimidic diamide HCl) is a white crystalline powder with a molecular formula of C4H11N5 HCl and a molecular weight of 165.63. Metformin HCl is freely soluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol, and practically insoluble in acetone and in methylene chloride. The pKa of metformin HCl is 8.6. The structural formula is. Saxagliptin and Metformin Hydrochloride Extended-release Tablets. Saxagliptin and metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets are available for oral administration as tablets containing either 5.58 mg saxagliptin HCl (anhydrous) equivalent to 5 mg saxagliptin and 500 mg metformin HCl, USP (saxagliptin and metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets 5 mg/500 mg), or 5.58 mg saxagliptin HCl (anhydrous) equivalent to 5 mg saxagliptin and 1,000 mg metformin HCl, USP (saxagliptin and metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets 5 mg/1,000 mg), or 2.79 saxagliptin HCl (anhydrous) equivalent to 2.5 mg saxagliptin and 1,000 mg metformin HCl, USP (saxagliptin and metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets 2.5 mg/1,000 mg). Each film-coated tablet of saxagliptin and metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets contains the following inactive ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, hydrochloric acid, hypromellose, iron oxide black, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, povidone, propylene glycol, shellac, talc, titanium dioxide. "IndicationAndUsage": "Warfarin sodium tablets are indicated for: 1 Prophylaxis and treatment of venous thrombosis and its extension, pulmonary embolism (PE)., 2 Prophylaxis and treatment of thromboembolic complications associated with atrial fibrillation (AF) and/or cardiac valve replacement., 3 Reduction in the risk of death, recurrent myocardial infarction (MI), and thromboembolic events such as stroke or systemic embolization after myocardial infarction.",
"Description": "Warfarin sodium tablets, USP contain warfarin sodium, an anticoagulant that acts by inhibiting vitamin K-dependent coagulation factors. The chemical name of warfarin sodium is 3-(α-acetonylbenzyl)-4-hydroxycoumarin sodium salt, which is a racemic mixture of the R- and S-enantiomers. Crystalline warfarin sodium is an isopropanol clathrate. Its structural formula may be represented as follows:. C 19H 15NaO 4M.W. 330.31. Crystalline warfarin sodium occurs as a white, odorless, crystalline powder that is discolored by light. It is very soluble in water, freely soluble in alcohol, and very slightly soluble in chloroform and ether. Each tablet, for oral administration, contains 1 mg, 2 mg, 2.5 mg, 3 mg, 4 mg, 5 mg, 6 mg, 7.5 mg or 10 mg warfarin sodium, USP. In addition, each tablet contains the following inactive ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, croscarmellose sodium, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, and microcrystalline cellulose. The 1 mg also contains FD&C red no. 40. The 2 mg also contains FD&C blue no. 2 aluminum lake and FD&C red no. 40 aluminum lake. The 2.5 mg also contains D&C yellow no. 10 aluminum lake and FD&C blue no. 1 aluminum lake. The 3 mg also contains FD&C yellow no. 6 aluminum lake, FD&C blue no. 2 aluminum lake, FD&C red no. 40 aluminum lake, and D&C yellow no. 10 aluminum lake. The 4 mg also contains FD&C blue no. 1 aluminum lake and FD&C blue no. 2 aluminum lake. "IndicationAndUsage": "Anastrozole tablets are an aromatase inhibitor indicated for: 1 Adjuvant treatment of postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive early breast cancer (1.1), 2 First-line treatment of postmenopausal women with hormone receptor-positive or hormone receptor unknown locally advanced or metastatic breast cancer (1.2), 3 Treatment of advanced breast cancer in postmenopausal women with disease progression following tamoxifen therapy. Patients with ER-negative disease and patients who did not respond to previous tamoxifen therapy rarely responded to anastrozole tablets (1.3).",
"Description": "Anastrozole Tablets, USP for oral administration contain 1 mg of anastrozole, a non-steroidal aromatase inhibitor. It is chemically described as 1,3-Benzenediacetonitrile, a, a, a', a'-tetramethyl-5-(1H-1,2,4-triazol-1-ylmethyl). Its molecular formula is C17H19N5 and its structural formula is. Anastrozole is an off-white powder with a molecular weight of 293.4. Anastrozole has moderate aqueous solubility (0.5 mg/mL at 25°C); solubility is independent of pH in the physiological range. Anastrozole is freely soluble in methanol, acetone, ethanol, and tetrahydrofuran, and very soluble in acetonitrile. Each tablet contains as inactive ingredients: hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, polyethylene glycol, povidone, sodium starch glycolate and titanium dioxide."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Olanzapine tablets are an atypical antipsychotic indicated:. As oral formulation for the: 1 Treatment of schizophrenia. ( 1.1) Adults: Efficacy was established in three clinical trials in patients with schizophrenia: two 6-week trials and one maintenance trial. ( 14.1) Adolescents (ages 13 to 17): Efficacy was established in one 6- week trial in patients with schizophrenia ( 14.1). The increased potential (in adolescents compared with adults) for weight gain and dyslipidemia may lead clinicians to consider prescribing other drugs first in adolescents. ( 1.1) , 2 Acute treatment of manic or mixed episodes associated with bipolar I disorder and maintenance treatment of bipolar I disorder. ( 1.2) Adults: Efficacy was established in three clinical trials in patients with manic or mixed episodes of bipolar I disorder: two 3- to 4-week trials and one maintenance trial. ( 14.2) Adolescents (ages 13 to 17): Efficacy was established in one 3- week trial in patients with manic or mixed episodes associated with bipolar I disorder ( 14.2). The increased potential (in adolescents compared with adults) for weight gain and dyslipidemia may lead clinicians to consider prescribing other drugs first in adolescents. ( 1.2) , 3 Medication therapy for pediatric patients with schizophrenia or bipolar I disorder should be undertaken only after a thorough diagnostic evaluation and with careful consideration of the potential risks. "Description": "Olanzapine is an atypical antipsychotic that belongs to the thienobenzodiazepine class. The chemical designation is 2-methyl-4-(4-methyl-1-piperazinyl)-10 H-thieno[2,3- b] [1,5]benzodiazepine. The molecular formula is C 17H 20N 4S, which corresponds to a molecular weight of 312.43. The chemical structure is:. Olanzapine is a yellow powder. Olanzapine tablets, USP are intended for oral administration only. Each tablet contains olanzapine equivalent to 2.5 mg (8 mcmol), 5 mg (16 mcmol), 7.5 mg (24 mcmol), 10 mg (32 mcmol), 15 mg (48 mcmol), or 20 mg (64 mcmol). Inactive ingredients are lactose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, starch. The color coating contains FD&C blue No.2 aluminum lake (15 mg), ferric oxide red (20 mg), ferric oxide yellow (20 mg), hydroxypropyl cellulose, hypromellose, polyethylene glycol and titanium dioxide (all strengths). FDA approved UV identification test differs from USP infrared identification test."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Terazosin capsules are indicated for the treatment of symptomatic benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). There is a rapid response, with approximately 70% of patients experiencing an increase in urinary flow and improvement in symptoms of BPH when treated with terazosin capsules. The long-term effects of terazosin capsules on the incidence of surgery, acute urinary obstruction or other complications of BPH are yet to be determined. Terazosin capsules are also indicated for the treatment of hypertension. Terazosin capsules can be used alone or in combination with other antihypertensive agents such as diuretics or beta-adrenergic blocking agents.",
"Description": "Terazosin hydrochloride, an alpha-1-selective adrenoceptor blocking agent, is a quinazoline derivative represented by the following chemical name,molecular formula and structural formula: (RS)-Piperazine, 1-(4-amino-6,7-dimethoxy-2-quinazolinyl)-4-[(tetrahydro-2-furanyl)carbonyl]-, monohydrochloride.C19H26ClN5O4. Terazosin hydrochloride is a white, crystalline substance, freely soluble in water and isotonic saline and has a molecular weight of 423.93. Each capsule, for oral administration, contains 1 mg, 2 mg, 5 mg or 10 mg of terazosin as terazosin hydrochlolde. In addition, each capsule contains the following inactive ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, and pregelatinized starch. The gelatin capsule contains gelatin, silicon dioxide, sodium lauryl sulfate, and titanium dioxide. The 1 mg shell also contains black iron oxide; the 2 mg capsule shell also contains D&C Yellow #10; the 5 mg capsule shell also contains D&C Yellow #10, FD&C Red #40 and D&C Red #28; the 10 mg capsule shell also contains FD&C Green #3 and D&C Yellow#10."
