"IndicationAndUsage": "Isosorbide mononitrate extended-release tablets are indicated for the prevention of angina pectoris due to coronary artery disease. The onset of action of oral isosorbide mononitrate is not sufficiently rapid for this product to be useful in aborting an acute anginal episode.",
"Description": "Isosorbide mononitrate (ISMN), an organic nitrate and the major biologically active metabolite of isosorbide dinitrate (ISDN), is a vasodilator with effects on both arteries and veins. Isosorbide mononitrate tablets contain either 30 mg, 60 mg or 120 mg of isosorbide mononitrate in an extended-release formulation. In addition, each tablet contains the following inactive ingredients: microcrystalline cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, hypromellose, colloidal silicon dioxide, lactose monohydrate and magnesium stearate. The molecular formula of ISMN is C 6H 9NO 6 and the molecular weight is 191.14. The chemical name for ISMN is 1,4:3,6-dianhydro-D-glucitol 5-nitrate; the compound has the following structural formula:. ISMN is a white, crystalline, odorless compound which is stable in air and in solution, has a melting point of about 90°C, and an optical rotation of +140° to 146° (2% in water, 20°C). Isosorbide mononitrate is freely soluble in water, acetic acid, alcohol, acetone and ethyl acetate; soluble in ether and chloroform, slightly soluble in toluene; practically insoluble in aliphatic hydrocarbons. FDA approved dissolution test differs from the USP dissolution test."

"IndicationAndUsage": "STRATTERA® is a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor indicated for the treatment of Attention–Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). (1.1).",
"Description": "STRATTERA® (atomoxetine HCl) is a selective norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor. Atomoxetine HCl is the R(-) isomer as determined by x–ray diffraction. The chemical designation is (-)-N-Methyl-3-phenyl-3-(o-tolyloxy)-propylamine hydrochloride. The molecular formula is C17H21NOHCl, which corresponds to a molecular weight of 291.82. The chemical structure is. Atomoxetine HCl is a white to practically white solid, which has a solubility of 27.8 mg/mL in water. STRATTERA capsules are intended for oral administration only. Each capsule contains atomoxetine HCl equivalent to 10, 18, 25, 40, 60, 80, or 100 mg of atomoxetine. The capsules also contain pregelatinized starch and dimethicone. The capsule shells contain gelatin, sodium lauryl sulfate, and other inactive ingredients. The capsule shells also contain one or more of the following. FD&C Blue No. 2, synthetic yellow iron oxide, titanium dioxide, red iron oxide. The capsules are imprinted with edible black ink."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Ranitidine is indicated in: 1 Short-term treatment of active duodenal ulcer. Most patients heal within 4 weeks. Studies available to date have not assessed the safety of ranitidine in uncomplicated duodenal ulcer for periods of more than 8 weeks., 2 Maintenance therapy for duodenal ulcer patients at reduced dosage after healing of acute ulcers. No placebo-controlled comparative studies have been carried out for periods of longer than 1 year., 3 The treatment of pathological hypersecretory conditions (e.g., Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and systemic mastocytosis)., 4 Short-term treatment of active, benign gastric ulcer. Most patients heal within 6 weeks and the usefulness of further treatment has not been demonstrated. Studies available to date have not assessed the safety of ranitidine in uncomplicated, benign gastric ulcer for periods of more than 6 weeks., 5 Maintenance therapy for gastric ulcer patients at reduced dosage after healing of acute ulcers. Placebo-controlled studies have been carried out for 1 year., 6 Treatment of GERD. Symptomatic relief commonly occurs within 24 hours after starting therapy with ranitidine 150 mg two times a day., 7 Treatment of endoscopically diagnosed erosive esophagitis. Symptomatic relief of heartburn commonly occurs within 24 hours of therapy initiation with ranitidine 150 mg 4 times daily., 8 Maintenance of healing of erosive esophagitis. Placebo-controlled trials have been carried out for 48 weeks.",
"Description": "Ranitidine hydrochloride (HCl), is a histamine H2-receptor antagonist. Chemically it is N-[2-[[[5-[(dimethylamino)methyl]-2-furanyl]methyl]thio]ethyl]-N’-methyl-2-nitro-1,1-ethenediamine, HCl. It has the following structure. The empirical formula is C13H22N4O3S HCl, representing a molecular weight of 350.87. Ranitidine HCl is a white to pale yellow, granular substance that is soluble in water. It has a slightly bitter taste and sulfur like odor. Each tablet, for oral administration contains 168 mg or 336 mg of ranitidine hydrochloride equivalent to 150 mg and 300 mg of ranitidine, respectively. Inactive ingredients: D & C Red #30 Aluminum Lake, hydroxypropyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, triethyl citrate, sodium starch glycolate, titanium dioxide and flavoring. The 300 mg also contains: D & C Yellow #10 Aluminum Lake. Each capsule, for oral administration contains 168 mg or 336 mg of ranitidine hydrochloride equivalent to 150 mg and 300 mg of ranitidine, respectively. Inactive ingredients: Ammonium hydroxide, colloidal silicon dioxide, corn starch, FD & C Blue #1, FD & C Red #40, FD & C Yellow #6, gelatin, magnesium stearate, pharmaceutical glaze, propylene glycol, silicon dioxide, simethicone, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium starch glycolate, and titanium dioxide."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Apixaban tablet is a factor Xa inhibitor indicated: to reduce the risk of stroke and systemic embolism in patients with nonvalvular atrial fibrillation. (1.1) for the prophylaxis of deep vein thrombosis (DVT), which may lead to pulmonary embolism (PE), in patients who have undergone hip or knee replacement surgery. (1.2) for the treatment of DVT and PE, and for the reduction in the risk of recurrent DVT and PE following initial therapy. (1.3, 1.4, 1.5).",
"Description": "Apixaban, a factor Xa (FXa) inhibitor, is chemically described as 1-(4-methoxyphenyl)-7-oxo-6-[4-(2-oxopiperidin-1-yl) phenyl]-4, 5, 6, 7-tetrahydro-1H-pyrazolo [3, 4c] pyridine-3-carboxamide. Its molecular formula is C25H25N5O4, which corresponds to a molecular weight of 459.5. Apixaban has the following structural formula. Apixaban is a white to pale-yellow powder. At physiological pH (1.2–6.8), apixaban does not ionize; its aqueous solubility across the physiological pH range is ~0.04 mg/mL. Apixaban tablets are available for oral administration in strengths of 2.5 mg and 5 mg of apixaban with the following inactive ingredients: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, sodium lauryl sulfate, povidone and magnesium stearate. The film coating contains hypromellose, titanium dioxide, triacetin, and yellow iron oxide (2.5 mg tablets) or red iron oxide (5 mg tablets)."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Clindamycin is indicated in the treatment of serious infections caused by susceptible anaerobic bacteria. Clindamycin is also indicated in the treatment of serious infections due to susceptible strains of streptococci, pneumococci, and staphylococci. Its use should be reserved for penicillin-allergic patients or other patients for whom, in the judgment of the physician, a penicillin is inappropriate. Because of the risk of colitis, as described in the BOXED WARNING, before selecting clindamycin, the physician should consider the nature of the infection and the suitability of less toxic alternatives (e.g., erythromycin). Anaerobes: Serious respiratory tract infections such as empyema, anaerobic pneumonitis, and lung abscess; serious skin and soft tissue infections; septicemia; intra-abdominal infections such as peritonitis and intra-abdominal abscess (typically resulting from anaerobic organisms resident in the normal gastrointestinal tract); infections of the female pelvis and genital tract such as endometritis, nongonococcal tubo-ovarian abscess, pelvic cellulitis, and postsurgical vaginal cuff infection. Streptococci: Serious respiratory tract infections; serious skin and soft tissue infections. Staphylococci: Serious respiratory tract infections; serious skin and soft tissue infections. Pneumococci: Serious respiratory tract infections. Bacteriologic studies should be performed to determine the causative organisms and their susceptibility to clindamycin. To reduce the development of drug-resistant bacteria and maintain the effectiveness of clindamycin HCl and other antibacterial drugs, clindamycin HCl capsules, USP should be used only to treat or prevent infections that are proven or strongly suspected to be caused by susceptible bacteria. When culture and susceptibility information are available, they should be considered in selecting or modifying antibacterial therapy. In the absence of such data, local epidemiology and susceptibility patterns may contribute to the empiric selection of therapy.",
"Description": "Clindamycin hydrochloride is the hydrated hydrochloride salt of clindamycin. Clindamycin is a semisynthetic antibiotic produced by a 7(S)-chloro-substitution of the 7(R)-hydroxyl group of the parent compound lincomycin. Clindamycin hydrochloride capsules, USP contain clindamycin hydrochloride equivalent to 75 mg, 150 mg, or 300 mg of clindamycin. Inactive ingredients: 75 mg - lactose monohydrate, corn starch, magnesium stearate, talc, D&C Yellow No. 10, FD&C Green No. 3, and gelatin; 150 mg - lactose monohydrate, corn starch, magnesium stearate, talc, D&C Yellow No. 10, FD&C Green No. 3, D&C Red No. 33, FD&C Blue No. 1, titanium dioxide, and gelatin; 300 mg - lactose monohydrate, corn starch, magnesium stearate, talc, D&C Red No. 33, FD&C Blue No. 1, FD&C Green No. 3, titanium dioxide, and gelatin. The capsule imprinting ink contains: shellac glaze in ethanol, titanium dioxide, isopropyl alcohol, ammonium hydroxide, n-butyl alcohol, propylene glycol, and simethicone. The structural formula is represented below. The chemical name for clindamycin hydrochloride is Methyl 7-chloro-6,7,8-trideoxy-6-(1-methyl- trans-4-propyl-L-2-pyrrolidinecarboxamido)-1-thio-L- threo-α-D- galacto-octopyranoside monohydrochloride."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets, USP are indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.",
"Description": "Metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets, USP contain the biguanidine antihyperglycemic agent, metformin, in the form of monohydrochloride salt. The chemical name of metformin HCl is N, N-dimethylimidodicarbonimidic diamide hydrochloride with a molecular formula of C4H11N5HCl and a molecular weight of 165.63. Its structural formula is:. Metformin HCl is a white to off-white crystalline powder that is freely soluble in water and is practically insoluble in acetone, ether, and chloroform. The pKa of metformin is 12.4. The pH of a 1% aqueous solution of metformin HCl is 6.68. Metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets deliver 500 mg or 1,000 mg of metformin HCl, which is equivalent to 389.93 mg or 779.86 mg metformin, respectively. In addition to the active ingredient metformin HCl, each tablet contains the following inactive ingredients: ammonio methacrylate copolymer type A, ammonio methacrylate copolymer type B, colloidal silicone dioxide, crospovidone, dibutyl sebacate, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose and povidone. Metformin hydrochloride extended-release tablets USP meets USP Dissolution Test 12."

"Description": "Glipizide extended-release tablets are an oral sulfonylurea. The Chemical Abstracts name of glipizide is 1-cyclohexyl-3-[[p-[2-(5-methylpyrazinecarboxamido) ethyl] phenyl]sulfonyl]urea. The molecular formula is C21H27N5O4S; the molecular weight is 445.55; the structural formula is shown below. Glipizide, USP is a white to off-white powder, with a pKa of 5.9. It is freely soluble in dimethylformamide, soluble in 0.1N sodium hydroxide and slightly soluble in methylene chloride. Glipizide extended-release tablets are formulated as a once-a-day extended-release tablet for oral use and are designed to deliver 2.5 mg, 5 mg, or 10 mg of glipizide. Each glipizide extended-release tablet contains the following inactive ingredients: acetyltributyl citrate, colloidal silicon dioxide, hydroxyethyl cellulose, hydroxypropyl cellulose, hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, methacrylic acid copolymer and polyethylene glycol. Additionally each 2.5 mg tablet contains: FD&C yellow #5 aluminum lake and titanium dioxide. Each 5 mg tablet contains: FD&C yellow #6 aluminum lake and titanium dioxide. The tablet is imprinted with opacode black S-1-17823 which contains following ingredients: ammonium hydroxide, iron oxide black, isopropyl alcohol, n-butyl alcohol, propylene glycol and shellac. System Components and Performance. Glipizide extended-release tablets are formulated as once-a-day extended-release tablets and are designed to deliver glipizide at a controlled rate over approximately 20 hours. The dosage form is comprised of a hydrophilic cellulose polymer matrix tablet containing the drug which is surrounded by a seal coat followed by an enteric coating system. The enteric coat is insoluble in the low pH environment of the stomach. As the tablet passes through the stomach and enters in the higher pH environment of the small intestine, the enteric coating dissolves and/or erodes to expose the polymer matrix tablet which swells and releases the drug at a controlled rate via diffusion and/or erosion."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Ivabradine tablets are a hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated channel blocker indicated: 1 To reduce the risk of hospitalization for worsening heart failure in adult patients with stable, symptomatic chronic heart failure with reduced left ventricular ejection fraction. "Description": "Ivabradine tablets contains ivabradine as the active pharmaceutical ingredient. Ivabradine is a hyperpolarization-activated cyclic nucleotide-gated channel blocker that reduces the spontaneous pacemaker activity of the cardiac sinus node by selectively inhibiting the If current, resulting in heart rate reduction with no effect on ventricular repolarization and no effects on myocardial contractility. The chemical name for ivabradine hydrochloride is 3-(3-{[((7S)-3,4-Dimethoxybicyclo[4.2.0]octa-1,3,5-trien-7-yl)methyl] methyl amino} propyl)-1,3,4,5-tetrahydro-7,8-dimethoxy-2H-3-benzazepin-2-one, hydrochloride. The molecular formula is C27H36N2O5.HCl, and the molecular weight (free base+ HCl) is 505.1 (468.6 + 36.5). The chemical structure of ivabradine is shown in Figure 1.Figure 1. Chemical Structure of IvabradineTablets. Ivabradine tablets are supplied in 5 mg and 7.5 mg tablets for oral administration. The tablets contain 5 mg and 7.5 mg of ivabradine, as the active ingredient, equivalent to 5.39 mg and 8.09 mg of ivabradine hydrochloride, respectively. The tablets contain the following inactive ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, glycerin, hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, maize starch, maltodextrin, polyethylene glycol, FD&C yellow#6, iron oxide red, iron oxide yellow, and titanium dioxide."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Carefully consider the potential benefits and risks of diclofenac potassium immediate-release tablets and other treatment options before deciding to use diclofenac potassium tablets. Use the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration consistent with individual patient treatment goals (see WARNINGS; Gastrointestinal Bleeding, Ulceration, and Perforation). Diclofenac potassium tablets are indicated: 1 For treatment of primary dysmenorrhea, 2 For relief of mild to moderate pain, 3 For relief of the signs and symptoms of osteoarthritis, 4 For relief of the signs and symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis.",
"Description": "Diclofenac potassium tablets, USP are a benzeneacetic acid derivative. Diclofenac potassium tablets are available as immediate-release tablets of 25 mg and 50 mg (white to off-white) for oral administration. Diclofenac potassium, USP is a White to off-white or slightly yellowish crystalline powder, slightly hygroscopic and is freely soluble in methanol; soluble in alcohol; sparingly soluble in water; slightly soluble in acetone. The chemical name is 2-[(2,6-dichlorophenyl)amino] benzeneacetic acid, monopotassium salt. The molecular weight is 334.25. Its molecular formula is C 14H 10Cl 2NKO 2, and it has the following structural formula. The inactive ingredients in diclofenac potassium tablets include: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium lauryl sulphate, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, talc & titanium dioxide."

Famotidine is N’-(aminosulfonyl)-3-[[[2[(diaminomethylene)amino]-4-thiazolyl]methyl]thio]propanimidamide. The empirical formula of famotidine is C8H15N7O2S3 and its molecular weight is 337.43. Its structural formula is. Each famotidine tablet, USP for oral administration contains either 20 mg or 40 mg of famotidine and the following inactive ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, yellow iron oxide and red iron oxide, Lecithin, macrogel/PEG 3350, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, polyvinyl alcohol, pregelatinized starch, talc and titanium dioxide. Famotidine, USP is a white to pale yellow crystalline compound that is freely soluble in glacial acetic acid, slightly soluble in methanol, very slightly soluble in water, and practically insoluble in ethanol."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Pantoprazole sodium delayed-release tablets are indicated for.",
"Description": "The active ingredient in pantoprazole sodium delayed-release tablets, USP is a substituted benzimidazole, sodium 5-(difluoromethoxy)-2-[[(3,4-dimethoxy-2-pyridinyl)methyl] sulfinyl]-1H-benzimidazole sesquihydrate, a compound that inhibits gastric acid secretion. Its molecular formula is C16H14F2N3NaO4S x 1.5 H2O, with a molecular weight of 432.4. The structural formula is. Pantoprazole sodium USP is a white to off-white powder and is racemic. Pantoprazole has weakly basic and acidic properties. Pantoprazole sodium USP is freely soluble in water, very slightly soluble in phosphate buffer at pH 7.4, and practically insoluble in n-hexane.The stability of the compound in aqueous solution is pH-dependent. The rate of degradation increases with decreasing pH. At ambient temperature, the degradation half-life is approximately 2.8 hours at pH 5 and approximately 220 hours at pH 7.8.Pantoprazole sodium USP is supplied as a delayed-release tablet, available in two strengths (20 mg and 40 mg).Each pantoprazole sodium delayed-release tablets, USP contain 45.1 mg or 22.56 mg of pantoprazole sodium USP (equivalent to 40 mg or 20 mg pantoprazole, respectively) with the following inactive ingredients: calcium stearate, crospovidone, ferric oxide, hydroxypropyl cellulose, hypromellose, mannitol, methacrylic acid copolymer dispersion, sodium carbonate, and triethyl citrate. The tablets are imprinted with brown ink containing ammonium hydroxide, iron oxide black, iron oxide red, iron oxide yellow, isopropyl alcohol, N-butyl alcohol, propylene glycol, and shellac glaze in ethanol. Pantoprazole sodium delayed-release tablets (40 mg and 20 mg) complies USP dissolution test 3."

The chemical name for tramadol hydrochloride, USP is (±)cis-2-[(dimethylamino)methyl]-1-(3-methoxyphenyl)cyclohexanol hydrochloride. Its structural formula is. C16H25NO2HCl M.W. 299.8. Tramadol hydrochloride, USP is a white, bitter, crystalline and odorless powder. It is readily soluble in water and ethanol and has a pKa of 9.41. The n-octanol/water log partition coefficient (logP) is 1.35 at pH 7. Tramadol Hydrochloride Tablets USP contain 50 mg of tramadol hydrochloride, USP and are white in color. In addition, each tablet contains the following inactive ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, pregelatinized corn starch, sodium starch glycolate and titanium dioxide."

The inactive ingredients present are Lactose Anhydrous, Microcrystalline Cellulose, Polacrilin Potassium and Magnesium Stearate."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Losartan potassium tablets are an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) indicated for: 1 Treatment of hypertension, to lower blood pressure in adults and children greater than 6 years old. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and myocardial infarctions. "Description": "Losartan potassium tablets USP are an angiotensin II receptor blocker acting on the AT1 receptor subtype. Losartan potassium, USP, a non-peptide molecule, is chemically described as 2-butyl-4-chloro-1-[p-(o-1H-tetrazol-5-ylphenyl)benzyl]imidazole-5-methanol monopotassium salt. Its structural formula is:. C22H22ClKN6O M.W. 461.01. Losartan potassium, USP is a white to off-white free-flowing crystalline powder. It is freely soluble in water, soluble in alcohols, and slightly soluble in common organic solvents, such as acetonitrile and methyl ethyl ketone. Oxidation of the 5-hydroxymethyl group on the imidazole ring results in the active metabolite of losartan. Losartan potassium tablets USP are available as tablets for oral administration containing either 25 mg, 50 mg or 100 mg of losartan potassium, USP and the following inactive ingredients: D&C Yellow #10 aluminum lake, FD&C Blue #2/indigo carmine aluminum lake, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, polyvinyl alcohol, pregelatinized starch, talc, and titanium dioxide.
