"IndicationAndUsage": "Clonidine hydrochloride tablets USP are indicated in the treatment of hypertension. Clonidine hydrochloride tablets USP may be employed alone or concomitantly with other antihypertensive agents.",
"Description": "Clonidine hydrochloride is a centrally acting alpha-agonist hypotensive agent available as tablets for oral administration in three dosage strengths: 0.1 mg, 0.2 mg and 0.3 mg. The 0.1 mg tablet is equivalent to 0.087 mg of the free base. Clonidine hydrochloride tablets USP contain the following inactive ingredients: lactose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, pregelatinized starch, and sodium starch glycolate. The 0.1 mg also contains D&C yellow #10 aluminum lake, and the 0.3 mg contains D&C yellow #10 aluminum lake and FD&C blue #1 aluminum lake. Clonidine hydrochloride is an imidazoline derivative and exists as a mesomeric compound. The chemical name is 2-(2,6-dichlorophenylamino)-2-imidazoline hydrochloride. The following is the structural formula. C 9H 9Cl 2N 3 HCl Mol. Wt. 266.56. Clonidine hydrochloride is an odorless, bitter, white, crystalline substance soluble in water and alcohol."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Glipizide tablets are indicated as an adjunct to diet for the control of hyperglycemia and its associated symptomatology in patients with non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM; type II), formerly known as maturity-onset diabetes, after an adequate trial of dietary therapy has proved unsatisfactory. In initiating treatment for non-insulin-dependent diabetes, diet should be emphasized as the primary form of treatment. Caloric restriction and weight loss are essential in the obese diabetic patient. Proper dietary management alone may be effective in controlling the blood glucose and symptoms of hyperglycemia. The importance of regular physical activity should also be stressed, and cardiovascular risk factors should be identified, and corrective measures taken where possible. If this treatment program fails to reduce symptoms and/or blood glucose, the use of an oral sulfonylurea or insulin should be considered. Use of glipizide must be viewed by both the physician and patient as a treatment in addition to diet, and not as a substitute for diet or as a convenient mechanism for avoiding dietary restraint. Furthermore, loss of blood glucose control on diet alone also may be transient, thus requiring only short-term administration of glipizide. During maintenance programs, glipizide should be discontinued if satisfactory lowering of blood glucose is no longer achieved. Judgements should be based on regular clinical and laboratory evaluations. In considering the use of glipizide in asymptomatic patients, it should be recognized that controlling the blood glucose in non-insulin-dependent diabetes has not been definitely established to be effective in preventing the long-term cardiovascular or neural complications of diabetes.",
"Description": "Glipizide is an oral blood-glucose-lowering drug of the sulfonylurea class. The Chemical Abstracts name of glipizide is 1-Cyclohexyl-3-[[p-[2-(5-methylpyrazinecarboxamido)-ethyl]phenyl]sulfonyl]urea. The molecular formula is C21H27N5O4S; the molecular weight is 445.54; the structural formula is shown below. Glipizide is a whitish, odorless powder with a pKa of 5.9. It is insoluble in water and alcohols, but soluble in 0.1N NaOH; it is freely soluble in dimethylformamide. Each tablet, for oral administration, contains 5 mg or 10 mg glipizide. In addition, each tablet contains the following inactive ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide; croscarmellose sodium; lactose anhydrous; microcrystalline cellulose; pregelatinized starch and stearic acid."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Rosuvastatin tablets are indicated: 1 To reduce the risk of ,major adverse cardiovascular (CV) events (CV death, nonfatal myocardial infarction, nonfatal stroke, or an arterial revascularization procedure) in adults without established coronary heart disease who are at increased risk of CV disease based on age, high-sensitivity C-reactive protein (hsCRP)≥2 mg/L, and at least one additional CV risk factor., 2 As an adjunct to diet to: Reduce low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in adults with primary hyperlipidemia.Reduce LDL-C and slow the progression of atherosclerosis in adults.Reduce LDL-C in adults and pediatric patients aged 8 years and older with heterozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HeFH)., 3 As an adjunct to other LDL-C-lowering therapies, or alone if such treatments are unavailable, to reduce LDL-C in adults and pediatric patients aged 7 years and older with homozygous familial hypercholesterolemia (HoFH)., 4 As an adjunct to diet for the treatment of adults with: Primary dysbetalipoproteinemia.Hypertriglyceridemia.",
"Description": "Rosuvastatin is a 3-hydroxy-3-methylglutaryl coenzyme A (HMG CoA)-reductase inhibitor. The chemical name for rosuvastatin calcium is bis[(E)-7-[4-(4-fluorophenyl)-6-isopropyl-2- [methyl(methylsulfonyl)amino] pyrimidin-5-yl](3R,5S)-3,5-dihydroxyhept-6-enoic acid] calcium salt with the following structural formula. The empirical formula for rosuvastatin calcium is (C 22H 27FN 3O 6S) 2Ca and the molecular weight is 1,001.14. Rosuvastatin calcium is a white amorphous powder that is sparingly soluble in water and methanol, and slightly soluble in ethanol. Rosuvastatin calcium is a hydrophilic compound with a partition coefficient (octanol/water) of 0.13 at pH of 7.0. Rosuvastatin tablets, USP for oral administration contain rosuvastatin 5 mg, 10 mg, 20 mg, or 40 mg (equivalent to 5.2 mg, 10.4 mg, 20.8 mg, and 41.6 mg rosuvastatin calcium) and the following inactive ingredients. For 5 mg: Each film coated tablet contains: microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, anhydrous lactose, crospovidone, magnesium oxide, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, triacetin, titanium dioxide, and ferric oxide yellow. For 10, 20 and 40 mg: Each film coated tablet contains: microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, anhydrous lactose, crospovidone, magnesium oxide, magnesium stearate, hypromellose, triacetin, titanium dioxide, FD & C yellow No. 6, FD & C red No. 40, and FD & C blue No.1. "IndicationAndUsage": "Hypothyroidism. Levothyroxine sodium tablets are indicated as a replacement therapy in primary (thyroidal), secondary (pituitary), and tertiary (hypothalamic) congenital or acquired hypothyroidism. Pituitary Thyrotropin (Thyroid-Stimulating Hormone, TSH) Suppression. Levothyroxine sodium tablets are indicated as an adjunct to surgery and radioiodine therapy in the management of thyrotropin-dependent well-differentiated thyroid cancer. Limitations of Use: : 1 Levothyroxine sodium tablets are not indicated for suppression of benign thyroid nodules and nontoxic diffuse goiter in iodine-sufficient patients as there are no clinical benefits and overtreatment with levothyroxine sodium tablets may induce hyperthyroidism [see Warnings and Precautions (5.4)]. , 2 Levothyroxine sodium tablets are not indicated for treatment of hypothyroidism during the recovery phase of subacute thyroiditis.",
"Description": "Levothyroxine sodium tablets, USP contain synthetic crystalline L-3,3',5,5'-tetraiodothyronine sodium salt. Synthetic T4 is identical in chemical structure to the T4 produced in the human thyroid gland. Levothyroxine (T4) sodium has an empirical formula of C15H10I4NNaO4 xH2O, molecular weight of 798.86 g/mol (anhydrous), and structural formula as shown. Levothyroxine sodium tablets for oral administration are available in the following strengths: 25 mcg, 50 mcg, 75 mcg, 88 mcg, 100 mcg, 112 mcg, 125 mcg, 137 mcg, 150 mcg, 175 mcg, 200 mcg, and 300 mcg. Each levothyroxine sodium tablet contains the inactive ingredients butylated hydroxyanisole, microcrystalline cellulose, sodium starch glycolate, povidone, colloidal silicon dioxide, magnesium stearate and color additive(s). Table 6 provides a listing of the color additives by tablet strength. FDA approved Dissolution test differs from the USP dissolution test. FDA approved Assay test differs from the USP assay test."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Amlodipine, valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide tablets are indicated for the treatment of hypertension, to lower blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and myocardial infarctions. These benefits have been seen in controlled trials of antihypertensive drugs from a wide variety of pharmacologic classes, including amlodipine, hydrochlorothiazide, and the ARB class to which valsartan principally belongs. There are no controlled trials demonstrating risk reduction with amlodipine, valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide tablets. Control of high blood pressure should be part of comprehensive cardiovascular risk management, including, as appropriate, lipid control, diabetes management, antithrombotic therapy, smoking cessation, exercise, and limited sodium intake. Many patients will require more than 1 drug to achieve blood pressure goals. For specific advice on goals and management, see published guidelines, such as those of the National High Blood Pressure Education Program’s Joint National Committee on Prevention, Detection, Evaluation, and Treatment of High Blood Pressure (JNC). Numerous antihypertensive drugs, from a variety of pharmacologic classes and with different mechanisms of action, have been shown in randomized controlled trials to reduce cardiovascular morbidity and mortality, and it can be concluded that it is blood pressure reduction, and not some other pharmacologic property of the drugs, that is largely responsible for those benefits. The largest and most consistent cardiovascular outcome benefit has been a reduction in the risk of stroke, but reductions in myocardial infarction and cardiovascular mortality also have been seen regularly. Elevated systolic or diastolic pressure causes increased cardiovascular risk, and the absolute risk increase per mmHg is greater at higher blood pressures, so that even modest reductions of severe hypertension can provide substantial benefit. Relative risk reduction from blood pressure reduction is similar across populations with varying absolute risk, so the absolute benefit is greater in patients who are at higher risk independent of their hypertension (e.g., patients with diabetes or hyperlipidemia), and such patients would be expected to benefit from more aggressive treatment to a lower blood pressure goal. Some antihypertensive drugs have smaller blood pressure effects (as monotherapy) in black patients, and many antihypertensive drugs have additional approved indications and effects (e.g., on angina, heart failure, or diabetic kidney disease). These considerations may guide selection of therapy. Limitation of Use Amlodipine, valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide tablet is not indicated for the initial therapy of hypertension [see Dosage and Administration (2)].",
"Description": "Amlodipine, valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide tablets, USP are a fixed combination of amlodipine, valsartan, and hydrochlorothiazide. Amlodipine, valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide tablets, USP contains the besylate salt of amlodipine, a dihydropyridine calcium channel blocker (CCB). Amlodipine besylate, USP is a white to pale yellow crystalline powder, slightly soluble in water and sparingly soluble in ethanol. Amlodipine besylate’s chemical name is 3-Ethyl 5-methyl (±)-2-[(2-aminoethoxy)methyl]-4(o-chlorophenyl)-1,4-dihydro-6-methyl-3,5-pyridinedicarboxylate, monobenzenesulfonate ; its structural formula is. Its molecular formula is C20H25ClN2O5.C6H6O3S and its molecular weight is 567.1. Valsartan, USP is a nonpeptide, orally active, and specific angiotensin II antagonist acting on the AT1 receptor subtype. Valsartan is a white to practically white fine powder, soluble in ethanol and methanol and slightly soluble in water. Valsartan’s chemical name is N-(1-oxopentyl)-N-[[2´-(1H-tetrazol-5-yl) [1,1´-biphenyl]-4yl]methyl]-L-valine; its structural formula is. Its molecular formula is C24H29N5O3 and its molecular weight is 435.5. Hydrochlorothiazide, USP is a white, or practically white, practically odorless, crystalline powder. It is slightly soluble in water; freely soluble in sodium hydroxide solution, in n-butylamine, and in dimethylformamide; sparingly soluble in methanol; and insoluble in ether, in chloroform, and in dilute mineral acids. Hydrochlorothiazide is chemically described as 6-chloro-3,4-dihydro-2H-1,2,4-benzothiadiazine-7-sulfonamide 1,1-dioxide. Hydrochlorothiazide is a thiazide diuretic. Its molecular formula is C7H8ClN3O4S2, its molecular weight is 297.73, and its structural formula is. Amlodipine, valsartan and hydrochlorothiazide film-coated tablets, USP are formulated in 5 strengths for oral administration with a combination of amlodipine besylate, valsartan, and hydrochlorothiazide, providing for the following available combinations. 5/160/12.5 mg, 10/160/12.5 mg, 5/160/25 mg, 10/160/25 mg, and 10/320/25 mg amlodipine besylate/valsartan/hydrochlorothiazide. The inactive ingredients for all strengths of the tablets include colloidal silicon dioxide, crospovidone, hypromellose, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, talc. Additionally, the 5/160/12.5 mg strength contains titanium dioxide; the 10/160/12.5 mg strength contains titanium dioxide and yellow and red iron oxides; the 5/160/25 mg strength contains titanium dioxide and yellow iron oxide, and the 10/160/25 mg and 10/320/25 mg strengths both contain yellow iron oxide."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Solifenacin Succinate Tablets are indicated for the treatment of adults with overactive bladder with symptoms of urge urinary incontinence, urgency, and urinary frequency.",
"Description": "Solifenacin Succinate Tablets are a muscarinic receptor antagonist. Chemically, solifenacin succinate is butanedioic acid, compounded with (1S)-(3R)-1-azabicyclo[2.2.2]oct-3-yl 3,4-dihydro-1-phenyl-2(1H)iso-quinolinecarboxylate (1:1) having an empirical formula of C 23H 26N 2O 2C 4H 6O 4, and a molecular weight of 480.55. The structural formula of solifenacin succinate is:. Solifenacin succinate is a white to pale-yellowish-white crystal or crystalline powder. It is freely soluble at room temperature in water, glacial acetic acid, dimethyl sulfoxide, and methanol. Each Solifenacin Succinate tablet contains 5 or 10 mg of solifenacin succinate and is for oral administration. In addition to the active ingredient solifenacin succinate, each Solifenacin Succinate tablet also contains the following inactive ingredients: lactose monohydrate, pregelatinized starch, hypromellose 2910, magnesium stearate, triacetin, polyethylene glycol 3350 and titanium dioxide with yellow ferric oxide and red ferric oxide."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Glipizide tablet is indicated as an adjunct to diet and exercise to improve glycemic control in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus.",
"Description": "Glipizide is an oral blood-glucose-lowering drug of the sulfonylurea class. The Chemical Abstracts name of glipizide is 1-cyclohexyl-3-[[p-[2-(5-methylpyrazinecarboxamido) ethyl]phenyl]sulfonyl]urea. The molecular formula is C21H27N5O4S; the molecular weight is 445.55; the structural formula is shown below. Glipizide is a whitish, odorless powder with a pKa of 5.9. It is insoluble in water and alcohols, but soluble in 0.1 N NaOH; it is freely soluble in dimethylformamide. Glipizide tablets for oral use are available in 5 and 10 mg strengths. Each tablet contains the following inactive ingredients: lactose monohydrate, corn starch, pregelatinized starch, microcrystalline cellulose, colloidal silicon dioxide and stearic acid."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Irbesartan tablets are an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) indicated for: : 1 Treatment of hypertension, to lower blood pressure. Lowering blood pressure reduces the risk of fatal and nonfatal cardiovascular events, primarily strokes and myocardial infarctions. (1.1) .",
"Description": "Irbesartan is an angiotensin II receptor (AT1 subtype) antagonist. Irbesartan is a non-peptide compound, chemically described as a 2-butyl-3-[p-(o-1H-tetrazol-5-ylphenyl)benzyl]-1,3-diazaspiro[4.4]non-1-en-4-one. Its empirical formula is C25H28N6O, and the structural formula. Irbesartan, USP is a white to off-white crystalline powder with a molecular weight of 428.5. It is a nonpolar compound with a partition coefficient (octanol/water) of 10.1 at pH of 7.4. Irbesartan, USP is slightly soluble in alcohol and methylene chloride and practically insoluble in water. Irbesartan tablets, USP are available for oral administration as unscored tablets containing 75 mg, 150 mg, or 300 mg of irbesartan, USP. Inactive ingredients include: croscarmellose sodium, hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, and silicon dioxide."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Riluzole is indicated for the treatment of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).",
"Description": "Riluzole is a member of the benzothiazole class. The chemical designation for riluzole is 2-amino-6-(trifluoromethoxy)benzothiazole. Its molecular formula is C8H5F3N2OS, and its molecular weight is 234.2. The chemical structure is. Riluzole is a white to slightly yellow powder that is freely soluble in acetonitrile, in alcohol, in methylene chloride, very slightly soluble in hexane and water. Riluzole Tablets, USP is available as a white to off-white coloured, capsule shaped film coated tablet, debossed with “RIL” on one side and “50” on other side. Each film-coated tablet for oral use contains 50 mg of riluzole and the following inactive ingredients:. Core: dibasic calcium phosphate dihydrate, USP; croscarmellose sodium, USP/NF; hypromellose, USP; microcrystalline cellulose, USP/NF; magnesium stearate, USP/NF; colloidal silicon dioxide, USP/NF. Film coating: Opadry Y-1-7000H White (hypromellose, USP; titanium dioxide, USP; polyethylene glycol 400, NF)."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Zolpidem tartrate extended-release tablet, a gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) A receptor positive modulator, is indicated for the treatment of insomnia characterized by difficulties with sleep onset and/or sleep maintenance. (1).",
"Description": "Zolpidem tartrate extended-release tablets USP contains zolpidem tartrate, a gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA) A receptor positive modulator of the imidazopyridine class. Zolpidem tartrate extended-release tablets USP are available in 6.25 mg and 12.5 mg strength tablets for oral administration. Chemically, zolpidem is N,N,6-trimethyl-2-p-tolylimidazo[1,2-a] pyridine-3-acetamide L-(+)-tartrate (2:1). It has the following structure. Zolpidem tartrate is a white or almost white, crystalline powder, hygroscopic that is slightly soluble in water, sparingly soluble in methanol and practically insoluble in methylene chloride. It has a molecular weight of 764.87. Zolpidem tartrate extended-release tablets USP consist of a coated two-layer tablet: one layer that releases its drug content immediately and another layer that allows a slower release of additional drug content. The 6.25 mg zolpidem tartrate extended-release tablets USP contain the following inactive ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, FD&C Blue # 2 aluminium lake, hypromellose, iron oxide red, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, potassium bitartrate, sodium starch glycolate and titanium dioxide. The 12.5 mg zolpidem tartrate extended-release tablets USP contain the following inactive ingredients: colloidal silicon dioxide, FD&C Blue # 2 aluminium lake, hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, polyethylene glycol, potassium bitartrate, sodium starch glycolate and titanium dioxide. Each capsule for oral administration contain 10 mg, 15 mg or 30 mg of oxazepam. Inactive ingredients: croscarmellose sodium, D&C yellow #10, FD&C blue #1, FD&C blue # 2, FD&C red # 40, ferric oxide black, gelatin, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, microcrystalline cellulose, n-butyl alcohol, propylene glycol, sda-3a alcohol, shellac, sodium lauryl sulfate, titanium dioxide and other inert ingredients. The 15 mg capsule also contains: FD&C yellow # 6. The 30 mg capsule also contains: D&C red # 28."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Celecoxib capsules are indicated.",
"Description": "Celecoxib is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug, available as capsules containing 200 mg celecoxib USP for oral administration. The chemical name is 4-[5-(4-methylphenyl)-3-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-pyrazol-1-yl] benzenesulfonamide and is a diaryl-substituted pyrazole. The molecular weight is 381.38. Its molecular formula is C 17H 14F 3N 3O 2S, and it has the following chemical structure:. Celecoxib USP is a white to off-white powder with a pKa of 11.1 (sulfonamide moiety). Celecoxib USP is hydrophobic (log P is 3.5) and is practically insoluble in aqueous media at physiological pH range. The inactive ingredients in celecoxib capsules include: gelatin, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, povidone, sodium lauryl sulfate, hydroxypropyl cellulose, crospovidone and titanium dioxide. The imprinting ink of capsule shell of the 200 mg capsule contains the following inactive ingredients: shellac, propylene glycol, strong ammonia solution and yellow iron oxide."

Cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride tablets, USP should be used only for short periods (up to two or three weeks) because adequate evidence of effectiveness for more prolonged use is not available and because muscle spasm associated with acute, painful musculoskeletal conditions is generally of short duration and specific therapy for longer periods is seldom warranted. Cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride tablets, USP have not been found effective in the treatment of spasticity associated with cerebral or spinal cord disease, or in children with cerebral palsy.",

If aqueous solutions are made alkaline, the free base separates. Cyclobenzaprine HCl is designated chemically as 3-(5H-dibenzo[a,d] cyclohepten-5-ylidene)-N,N-dimethyl-1-propanamine hydrochloride, and has the following structural formula:. Cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride tablets, USP are supplied as 7.5 mg tablets for oral administration. Cyclobenzaprine hydrochloride 7.5 mg tablets contain the following inactive ingredients: corn starch, hydroxypropyl cellulose, hypromellose, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, polyethylene glycol, pregelatinized starch, talc and titanium dioxide."

"IndicationAndUsage": "Gabapentin capsules are indicated for: 1 Management of postherpetic neuralgia in adults, 2 Adjunctive therapy in the treatment of partial onset seizures, with and without secondary generalization, in adults and pediatric patients 3 years and older with epilepsy.",
"Description": "The active ingredient in gabapentin capsules, USP is gabapentin, USP which has the chemical name 1-(aminomethyl)cyclohexaneacetic acid. The molecular formula of gabapentin, USP is C 9H 17NO 2 and the molecular weight is 171.24. The structural formula of gabapentin, USP is:. Gabapentin, USP is a white to off-white crystalline solid with a pK a1 of 3.7 and a pK a2 of 10.7. It is freely soluble in water and both basic and acidic aqueous solutions. The log of the partition coefficient (n-octanol/0.05M phosphate buffer) at pH 7.4 is -1.25. Each gabapentin capsule contains 100 mg, or 300 mg of gabapentin, USP and the following inactive ingredients: black iron oxide, corn starch, D&C Yellow #10 aluminum lake, FD&C blue #1 aluminum lake, FD&C blue #2 aluminum lake, FD&C red #40 aluminum lake, gelatin, mannitol, pharmaceutical glaze, propylene glycol, red iron oxide T3469, silicon dioxide, sodium lauryl sulfate, synthetic black iron oxide, talc, titanium dioxide, and yellow iron oxide T3506."
